You gotta give them credit: JCPenney used to be nothing special, but lately they’ve started carrying some nice stuff. I needed a new dress for a banquet and I pretty much searched the entire mall with no luck, not even at Forever 21. But for a reasonable price I got a breezy black and white chevron dress. They have a ton of summer scarves too, which can be tough to find, as well as nice bags and such. They are pretty generous with coupons too. I’ve been finding them helpful when doing some last minute shopping before my trip overseas. They’re home section has some nice stuff too. Before you brush them off, give them a try. I feel like they’re making a comeback. You might find something you just couldn’t find elsewhere.

This is such a weird experience. I buy a ring from J.C. Penney’s(opal & white sapphire), and I have to buy it two days ahead, then come back and pick it up. It’s called a «pre-sale.» Ohmerrgaad. Who puts up with this? I only did because I’m going on vacation and I have all this shopping to do so I’m in & out(against my usual no-mall, all-online policy) for summer stuff to wear in mid-winter #firstworldproblems. First salesperson: Dashing. Brunette. Could sell ice to the eskimos. The guy I pick it up from: Irritated, snappish when I can’t find my receipt at first. When I find it, becomes my best friend. Ok, Jekyll & Hyde. There is such a thing as self-control and respect for the customer. It took me all of 1 minute to find the receipt. Maybe consider being polite? God! P. S. I weirdly have great luck with clothes here. My snob friends always assume whatever I wear is from some other snotball store that they never go to. I never see them in any of the same clothes if I pick up a little something at the Jac De Penoit. Also: They are now selling sequinned, and leather-trimmed, black mini-skirts for Little Girls! Ohmygod. I wouldn’t let my 16 year-old wear that(if I had one). I’d say«Bech, please!» 1. «You’re not dressing like a Baby Prostitute 2. Save something for when you’re 22.» They had some of these kiddie skirts in XXL, and they would’ve fit ME(great money-saving tactic). However, the fabric was too cheap. Shame on you, Penny’s. For SHAME!

Unbelievable! I called Pottery Barn to see if they were opening early for holiday shoppers and was told at 9am, «We’re open.» I jumped in my car and drove down there, only to find they weren’t opening until 11am!!! Someone answered the phone in the store and misguided me, but I’m really glad she did. I’m really glad she had no idea what planet she was on because I roamed around JCPenney’s looking for what I had intended on purchasing at Pottery Barn. I found the most amazing Egyptian — cotton high end sheets and duvet covers for 50% off listed price. I. Made. Out. Like. A. Bandit. and I have some person answering the phone and not knowing what she was talking about, to get me to JCPenney’s. When I went to purchase it, I got an additional 20% off the sales price with some coupon she scanned at the cash register. So amazingly, I got exactly what I was looking for, and for such a fabulous price I just know I will probably mosey up to Rivergate to the other JC Penney’s for more fabulous sheets and matching duvet cover. Because I was there so early, I pretty much had the store to myself AND the corridors. No heavy crowds, no lines at the cash registers and tons of inventory to choose from. The shelves were stocked fully with every size needed, every color scheme, matching pillows, matching bed skirts. everything was fully stocked. I had to ask no one for help. I just had a really hard time deciding which color scheme to go with, but when she rang up my merchandise and I saw the deep discounts, I was all ready mentally deciding to do it again, during the work week. at Rivergate. The cashiers were sweet and efficient, gave me a coupon book and told me to «have fun.» I had purchased a gorgeous red duvet cover last winter for the red scheme going on in my bedroom. This year, I found a lot of beautiful paisley colors. and they were $ 75 cheaper than Pottery Barn. Go JC Penney’s!!! I will do it again this week for another deeply discounted sheet and duvet cover for more color alternatives for the bedroom. If you are like me and love, love, love color schemes that are interchangeable, check out JC Penney’s. You cannot go wrong!

the employee’s at this Location were not nice to me or my kids when we were returning a Christmas present. After asking to speak to the manager, the odd curtness continued.
