I was walking past Lost Primos shortly after a visit to Mexico. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Mexican breads through the window. I had to check it out. Now we have a reliable source for tropical fruits and Mexican snacks from the grocery side of Los Primos. In addition to the bakery and the groceries, they have fresh meats and a restaurant. The smell of the restaurant and the crowd even late in the afternoon meant we had to try the tacos. They taste awesome, the portions are generous, and the price is right. Everything was fresh. The food is highly authentic — probably the most authentic in Franklin. Inside Los Primos, you’ll feel like you’re in Mexico. The staff is friendly, and although Spanish is the default language inside(did I mention how authentic it is?), they all speak English.

Employees are wonderful and welcoming. Verrrrrry authentic Mexican food. I love the fresh cilantro and salsa served with any order. I haven’t tried anything from the bakery/pastry side yet, looks and smells yum!

This is some of the best mexican food that I have had in the Mid TN area, if only they served beer and margaritas.

This place have some of the best Mexican food I have ever tasted. This is not your normal restaurant, its a grocery store with a little restaurant inside. My wife and I will get our mexican food from there insted of going to any other mexican restaurant.

I think this place has been open for awhile and I’m surprised there aren’t more reviews to read… Regardless, this place is simply unreal. My family and I had lunch here on a Sunday afternoon and had 6 different tacos, a torta, chicken quesadilla and 2 drinks. All in all it was barely $ 30 for as much food as we could handle. I was flat out floored from the quality and value of the food. The ONLY potential downside is ordering can be a LITTLE intimidating b/c if you have questions you have to ask the right person who might know some english. The entire staff is VERY friendly though and obviously make every effort to ensure you get what you want. I’ve already returned for a quick 2-taco pit-stop and to pick up some tortas for friends since I get excited about sharing new items with people. I’m already more comfortable ordering knowing the process a little more and understanding the menu a little better after my initial visit. They have 2 of the same menu posted above the counter one in English and one in spanish. The bottom line is this… I wouldn’t want to be around me if I have to go over a week without stopping into Los Primos. This will be a VERY frequent stop for me in the future. Like any asian/itallian/mexican etc. establishment the only real indicator you need is if the local natives(obviously Mexican’s in this case) are frequenting the establishment and during my two visits I was the only American dining at the time; which was not intimidating in the least I might add. Again, the service staff is a friendly as they come. I hope to spread the word about this place and return to try the pastries and even what the market itself has to offer as well… PS. Make sure and tip the guys at the counter! They very much appreciate it and it’s well-deserved.

This is on of those unique finds that I was surprised to be in Franklin. The interior is like a market, and you can find a bakery, meet counter, hot counter as well s some grocery finds. had a tamale and some tacos and they were about as authentic as you can get. they have a large selection of finds that you wont get at most Mexican restaurants like tongue and menudo and the flavors were spot on. Great job here!

We wandered in about 2 years ago when Los Primos was in another smaller, older location about 100 feet from where they are now in the Goodwill shopping center in 96HWY in Franklin. This is our Mexican food place of choice. A grocery-bakery with hot prepared foods. We take a stash home for a feast. You can also eat in at the grocery store. Many more tables now available. Our go-to take out: 3-inch stack of piping hot tortillas — warmed on the griddle –pork Al Pastor –barbacoa –lengua –tamales –deep fried jalapeños –grilled chicken quarters –a wheel of queso fresco from the fridge –freshly chopped cilantro and onions and pico de gallo and roasted pepper salsa Sometimes it feels like a little struggle with communication but that’s mostly me. These folks work very hard to get you what you need and fast and hot. On your way out, pick up some fresh jalapeños and tomatillos to make your own salsa verde(it couldn’t be easier to do – truly – cut, roast 40 mins with onions and garlic, then throw all in blender – voila – season to taste. Delicious). Pick up a stack of corn tortillas to finish out your leftovers and for breakfast eggs. Also pick up crazy sugary good Jaritos – pineapple, tamarindo, strawberry, ahhh. And don’t forget the paletas. Cool, fruity and cheap Popsicles. A great end to fatty, spicy tacos. My boys love Bubu Lubus chocolate bars that we discovered there. The food here is always hot, fresh, delicious, and I suspect made by an Abuelita somewhere in the back.

Today was our first visit to Los Primos Taqueria! The pozole rojo was incredible with a rich broth, fall-apart, melt-in-your-mouth pork and tender hominy. To top the pozole, they include crunchy tostadas, freshly chopped onion and cilantro. Perfection. The tacos al pastor were excellent as well. Delicious chunks of meat nestled in two warm, corn tortillas. we added onion and cilantro that is provided on there extensive condiment bar. Authentic Mexican food that is obviously made with love. Go experience Los Primos Taqueria! Don’t be timid if you don’t speak Spanish, their menus are in both English and Spanish and everyone working there is very helpful and will absolutely make you feel welcome. See you there!

The best, authentic Mexican food Nashville has ever seen or will see! Holy Frijole this place is good! I don’t know how you could not give this place five stars. The tacos are amazing!!! This little jewel is worth the drive from anywhere in the metro area!

We regularly go here when we need fresh avocado’s and cilantro for Guacamole. Los Primos is always busy when I’m in there. They have a place to order food and eat as well as bakery area with pan dulce(sweet bread). This is a traditional Mexican corner store/deli style shop. If you don’t know what this means, go over with an open mind and low expectations. You’ll leave happy and satisfied! Please thumb up/comment if you liked this review and I would count it a privilege if you chose to follow me as I review places I travel and visit. Thank you for taking the time to read! ~mp
