Mellow Mushroom

The waiting time at this location is always ridiculous (30 – 45) minutes. But the food is so good. The waiting time for all Mellow Mushrooms always gets me upset with my experience here. It’s great pizza but they could do a better job with customer service.

Update: Picked up takeout again, 3 pizzas were on time, hot, and delicious. Happy customer who will be back. Glad to see them back on top of their game.

I love this place. I’ve been eat at different locations but never had any bad experience. I love the meaty of all meaty pizza to unique cheese pizza. I don’t drink anymore but pizza from here & beer was my go to in summer time ^_^

I have lunch at this Mellow Mushroom maybe once per week. My only complaint (which also feeds into a compliment as well! Keep reading!) is that their food does take a long time to prepare. If I am calling in a to-​go order, it’s going to be minimum 30 minutes to have the food ready. If I am dining in, it will usually take 30 – 45 minutes for the food to come out. (This can be a little frustrating if you only ordered a side salad and a slice of cheese pizza.)
HOWEVER, I will say that every meal I have had at this location has been HOT and FRESH — if the wait is the «price» of the excellent meal, then I’m all for it. The staff has always been very cordial and friendly — they always ask how I’m doing or compliment what I am wearing. I have had my order made incorrectly once — but the manager apologized and gave me the meal for free. Excellent customer service, amazing atmosphere, and friendly place to grab a bite to eat!
If you dine in, make sure to get a booth. The metal chairs they have are super uncomfortable! :)

So yummy! The pizza crust is so soft and never had it like that before but it was amazing that way! The vibe in the restaurant is also nice, our waiter was very informative. Would eat here in a heartbeat!

Mellow Mushroom is on our regular rotation. The pizza is great and we’ve never had a bad experience whether it was dining in or take out. We really enjoy sitting at the bar as the bartenders are very friendly and engaging. The beer selection is excellent as well.

Met some friends for dinner before enjoying music on the patio!
Service was horrible, Server was very scattered, Took 1.5 hours to get our food.
Many excuses given, Get it together folks!
And just another reason we frequent the restaurants that have great service and exceptional food!

Can’t believe it took me 4 years of living in Nashville and I never went to Mellow Mushroom. I finally did and it was the one in Franklin. Figures.
My friend and I were the last 2 in before close on a weeknight, and the staff was very nice during service. We didn’t feel rushed at all which was great. Cool location. We each had personal pizzas — I ordered the meatball special signature to this location with spinach on it.
So good — excellent crust! Only reason it’s not 5 stars is the price. I ended up paying $ 20 for my order of a coke and a small personal pizza.

Nice menu, very good service, tasty food. Wife had a Greek salad and I had an Italian sandwich. Both prepared well and tasty. Surroundings were clean and inviting. Simply no complaints

We had fantastic service! Seated right away and out apps came out really quick! The pizza was great! Our entire group loved the atmosphere. You can even watch the game! A fantastic meal and a great time.

I don’t understand how people can eat their pizza. They dough are frozen and tasteless! They have the worst pizza i have ever tried! Why do people still go there? I guess they are a franchise and they really took a good spot in down town Franklin. still… No thank you. I would rather support local business compare to this place.

Standard Mellow Mushroom restaurant. Friendly staff, good pizza and vegetarian/​vegan friendly.

Pretty good. Nothing blew my mind, but it was good. We got the Greek pizza and the meat lovers… sorry, can’t remember their funky names. The service was alright. Our waiter seemed preoccupied that day, but hey, that happens!

The magic is gone. Something has changed in the one item that set Mellow apart from everyone else, their dough. Something I can’t put my finger on it but it is flatter, drier, grainier and just doesn’t have the magic anymore.
The pizza is still very good but it is no longer great. My hope is that whatever they changed in the dough that they change it back.

The pizza, atmosphere and service are all top notch! And love the outdoor dining. One of my favorite Middle Tennessee places to eat on a beautiful day.

The pizza dough was weird.

The atmosphere was fun and the key lime pie was awesome!

We like the Mellow Mushroom in Pigeon Forge; however, I will NEVER return to this location again! We ordered pretzel appetizer and they were just OK, the bottoms of 3 out of the 6 were almost burnt. My wife’s parents ordered a pepperoni, mushroom, and green pepper which my father in law found the crust to be very gritty and hard. My wife and I ordered a pepperoni and bacon. It was not good at all!!! The bacon had a very bad taste and an even worse after taste. The taste spread even to areas of the pie that did not have bacon. My wife ate ½ of a slice and I ate 1 slice and a small part of another and that was all I could stomach.
The waitress came to see if we needed anything and a box for our left overs and I told her that the bacon on the pizza was not good and we could not eat it with that taste. She said «I’m sorry that you didn’t like the pizza, I’ll be right back with your bill» She came back with our bill for $ 34.76 and I paid it. That was the most expensive slice of pizza I ever hated!!!
As I stated earlier, you will never catch me in this Mellow Mushroom restaurant again!

I have had it delivered three times now. Accurate order each time and fresh! I have ordered twice for the employees at work and they love it, requesting to order from there again.
Great variety and choices. The crust has a sweetness to it which I prefer.
I have not eaten inside yet so I am unable to comment on dining in. I do plan on dining in soon with my family.

As far as chains go, Mellow Mushroom is as non-​chainy as it gets. I love the feel of these places and how delightfully un-​chainy they feel.
Mellow Mushroom focuses on incorporating fresh, healthier ingredients in to your desire for easy munchie foods like sandwiches, calzones, and pizza. The Franklin location does a great job of hitting the high notes you want out of a Mellow Mushroom experience
We went here to get take-​out pizza thanks to a Check-​In offer they had going but I’ve eaten in the restaurant one or two times before this. We had the thai chicken pizza without onions and it was delicious! Between two people, we stuffed the whole thing (medium pizza) in to our bellies like we were starving. It could have fed three if each person had two slices but we indulged a bit and split it between two. We called ahead 15 minutes out and the pizza was hot and ready for us when we arrived. I’ve had bad experience with Mellow Mushroom waiting times before so this was a nice surprise!
Pros:
Tasty foods and totally worth the extra price for the quality of pizza over your typical chain pizza spot. They don’t even have a fryer in the restaurants which is helpful if you’re trying to meet certain New Years resolutions!
Cons:
It can take a while to get your food at Mellow Mushrooms if you eat in but we were able to get our pizza quickly via take-​out this time through.
Overall:
Higher quality option for pizza and super flavorful! They also have plenty of options for your vegan, vegetarian, and health-​seeking friends. Good location off of the square in Franklin.

Excellent pizza, excellent sides, excellent beer.
What more do you want? How about the location/​restaurant itself? Excellent.
If you’re in the area and craving pizza/​beer. Go. Highly recommended!
