Franktown Firewood & Fireside

Under new management. Very honest about the quality of their firewood. Great price on piñón. They also have smoker wood chunks. I highly recommend Franktown Firewood. The best in Douglas County.

In October, we walked into Franktown Firewood to buy some firewood. We purchased a half cord of Pecan. The lady said they could deliver the next week. Next week came and no one showed up and there was no phone call. I called only to get an answering machine. I left a message with no call back. I talked to them a few times in November with promises to deliver on a specific day with the same result, no show, no call. In December I spoke with a lady I had not spoken to before. She explained that the owner had some problems and she was back now and would make sure I received my delivery. When she called me back to schedule the delivery she said they were out of pecan now. I was not very happy since they had plenty when I was there in October. I changed the order to hickory and we scheduled delivery for the week after Christmas. You guessed it, same thing, no call, no show. I have called several times but only get the answering machine. It is now January and I still have no firewood. I just want my money back but I can’t reach anyone there. If you want to buy some firewood, they seem really efficient at taking your money. If you would like to actually take delivery of the firewood, I would avoid Franktown Firewood.

I am redoing my review because I spoke to Shirley and she explained what happened with the phones (and I also know that this is the busy time of the year for firewood). I have a delivery scheduled and after that goes through good I will bump my rating to 5 stars from the 3 I temporarily set it to now that I understand the situation (5 stars is what I would rate them at based on my prior experience a few years ago).
Thank You Shirley for explaining to me the setback and I am looking forward to getting my fireplace well stocked once again!

Same problem as Shawn… called twice… left a message. Never got a call back. Guess FF must be doing such a great business that they don’t need mine.

Called during business hours trying to get firewood. Left a message with no return phone call more than once. Called yet again the phone was picked up then was hung up. I figured it was an error… nope, when I called back it went to voicemail. This place has forever lost my business.
