I came here during our Winter break and this is an awesome place. We love working out here. The equipment is top of the line however there are only 4 treadmills and elliptical machines. So far a machine has always been available. They offer fitness classes too and they say the spin classes are popular so make sure you call in advance. I love the steam room and sauna to relax in after a work out. The hot tub holds 16 people and is a great way to relax muscle tension after a long day of skiing. My family even got me going down the big waterslide. It’s fast and seems like a slide in an amusement park. The kids will love it and I feel like a big kid going down trying to beat the time of my husband and son. Don’t miss the slide– it’s fun to watch all the adults going down it too. All ages will love this rec center. It’s only $ 10 for adults, $ 8 for youth, and $ 7 for kids 3 – 12. A small price to pay for a whole lot of fun! Grand County Residents get a reduced rate– just bring in your mail to prove your address up here like a utility bill.

Pretty impressed with this facility and what it has to offer. It has the standard basketball courts, weight room, and lap pool. But its got plenty more. It has a great gymnastics area with some really nice stuff(kids need to be in a class to use it, but you can sign them up on a drop in basis). In the pool area, they have a lazy river(that’s not all that lazy!), a pretty big water slide(that has a stopwatch so people can ‘race’ against each other), etc. The climbing wall is a good set up. The whole place is very clean. The equipment is in great shape. The staff is extremely helpful. Fees are reasonable, adult day use is $ 10, kids are $ 7, the gymnastics classes are $ 10 and an hour or longer. Only downside is they don’t offer a week pass… but that’s minor unless you plan on going a lot. It’s a great place to grab a quick workout and the kids will like it as well. For a relatively small town, what this place has to offer is almost unheard of. And it’s public!(As a sidenote, this is the kind of place that can exist in only a few areas anymore. In most cities, this place would basically be destroyed within months by a bunch of idiots. But it seems that this area really has some nice recreation facilities that are kept up. Check out the skate park for another great example of this.) So, for those days where the weather sucks or you just want to do something a little different, this should be at the top of your list.
