We popped in her randomly for a beer after skiing at Whitetail Resort. We were welcomed warmly and the service was immaculate. They never left me waiting for anything. The beer selection is extensive and delicious. The atmosphere is so unique you can’t help but feel welcome. I recommend and will be coming back.

Excellent pretzel/beer cheese appetizer, really good deep dish pizza, great beer selection. Try to sit next to one of the fireplaces in the historic building, they’re pretty nice!

Alway good when I come here. They have new beer on tap and bottles. Love chatting with the cook and bar tender. They are very knowledgable about beer and alway willing to take suggestions on what to tap next.

Great beer selection. Fun sampler options(you pick any 4 or 6 you want). Servers were in the weeds the night I was there but service was still good. Food we had was fine. Nothing special but nothing bad either. I think it’s the kind of place to stick to the apps and sandwiches and enjoy your beer! Beautiful building that was well lit and welcoming on the outside. I’d go back.

Great food, service and atmosphere. Being a history buff, I enjoyed hearing about the history of this place, a history that goes back some 230 years. Building and dining rooms are very charming. I had the Italian Beef Sandwich and a side of Mac n Cheese. Both were very good. Waitress and employees and owner were very friendly also. Can’t wait to return and try some of the other items on the menu, which sound very good. Price are very reasonable for a beautiful nice restaurant like this, as other historic inn restaurants in this area and elsewhere can be very pricy.

I have mixed feelings about this place. I am not crazy about the waitress we had on my last visit. I do however like the food. Their sandwiches are good. I like the charm of the historic building the restaurant is in.

We dined here on Father’s Day 2015 with four adults and two children(1.5 and 3.5 years old). Good: The historic building is beautiful and really neat to experience. Thank you for providing baskets in various locations filled with children’s toys, books, and activities. Excellent beer selection. The children’s grilled cheese was on great bread. Less than good: We about melted in the restaurant. We realized it was quite old and therefore lacking in the AC area, but it was so uncomfortable that some of us couldn’t eat. Another reason why some couldn’t eat is because they ran out of sweet potato fries, went to buy more, and then we waited for them to be prepared. The overall wait for food was outrageous– pushed an hour– hence the gratitude for the children’s toys. The food tasted fine but was nothing fantastic. My mother in law had a salad with fish(don’t recall the name) and it was a bunch of lettuce with a filet of fish and that was about it. My father in law had the Italian beef sandwich and he was less than impressed. My Reuben was tasty but not the best I have had. Our waitress seemed frazzled and grouchy; the restaurant was hardly crowded, but she seemed to have forgotten us on several occasions. We will not be returning.

The atmosphere has potential, but it falls short of being a nice quaint restaurant. It used to be a nice place before it was bought out. Service could be better. The food lacked taste and 2 of the meals were not even warm. Even our kids didn’t like the Baked Ziti. No one at the table finished their food. It’s too bad, because we really enjoyed the previous restaurant at that same location.

We decided to shlep all the way up from Fairfax to Frederick to check out Brew’d Pub because one of the owners is a friend of my wife. So, if you want to take this with a grain of salt, go right ahead. We arrived at about 1PM on a Sunday afternoon. I was told that ribs were one of their specialties… and that’s one of my favorites. How conveeeeeeenient! When we got there, we were seated promptly. There was an odd-looking diagram on the on-tap beer list: a long rectangle with six ovals and a smaller rectangle on the end. It turned out to be exactly what I thought, a way of ordering *custom beer flights*! Woohoo! I got an assortment of dark to darkish beers(they had lots of lighter beers too, like IPAs and Pilsners), including a few varieties I was not familiar with, like a Black Wheat beer and an Oyster Stout. Yummy, and generously sized, probably the equivalent of about two full beers.(My wife was driving, and just had a Chocolate Meltdown, off the even more extensive list of bottled beers… and a small sip of each of mine.) Meanwhile, we ordered food. I was hungry, but not SO hungry as to order a *full* rack of ribs. I was glad for that, because the ribs were *very* meaty! At most places, a slab of ribs is not much thicker than the ribs themselves. At Brew’d Pub, the slab is about triple-thick! The surface had spicy sauce on it, not enough to be sloppy, but enough to give some good flavor, though I think I would have liked some more, due to more meat. The meat inside was moist, not greasy, and tender enough to literally fall off the bone. Seriously! Remove the bone with a knife and fork, and there would probably be no meat left on it, maybe a couple tiny shreds. The sweet potato fries were flavorful, with just the right amount of salt, and the coleslaw was also good… just there’s not much one can do to make rave-worthy slaw. My wife had the chicken and asparagus penne pasta, which was also very good, and SO generously sized that is was enough for not only her lunch… *and* dinner… but *my* dinner too! When the bill came, it was still quite reasonable for what we got. In summary, what are you doing sitting there reading Unilocal,go get yourself some ribs and beer!

This place is awesome! We were traveling home from a long weekend away, back to dc and with the baby screaming we had to stop! It was 4:58pm on a Monday and they were open! The waitress/bar tender saw us unpacking from the parking lot and turned the fire on and got our table set up with the high chair even. We had salad and deep dish pizza(which was amazing)! The beer selection was impressive as well. I was also relived to see a changing table in the restroom. This place has it all. Good food, good beer, great service and family friendly. We will be back next time!

I love the ambiance. The beer list is phenomenal. The food was good could be great. The mozzarella bites were good not greasy at all. The French onion soup was very good. We liked it although others may find it too peppery. The cheesesteak was good, bread was really good. Husband has the Rueben and he loved it. Only comment was that it could use some more sour kraut. We did not enjoy the onion loaf which was onion straws. Needs more flavor. The service was great, very very friendly and attentive.

This restaurant was awesome! My husband and I went after spending the afternoon at Hagerstown Outlets and we so enjoyed our experience! I had the cheese steak and mac&cheese, he had the fish and chips. This is a great place to kick back and drink a few beers. They have 21 beers on tap. Highly recommend. We will be back!

Where to start… Kim was our waitress this time and she was great! Funny, attentive, incredibly apologetic. We went for brunch and ordered from breakfast menu. My plate was delivered and after it was placed on the table, it was clear it belonged to the party of twenty in the great room with the waitress who wasn’t Kim.(They had Olga.) We waited for about 10 mins before the rest of our table received their food and after the food runner coming by 3 separate times to see if the food on his tray was ours. The bagel with cream cheese came out 2 minutes after the other breakfast items and was cold, barely toasted. The french toast was topped with still frozen blueberries. The over-medium eggs were over-easy. The bananas were brown and cooked into the pancakes. Bacon, sausage patties, and coffee were good. By the time everyone else received their food, mine was cold so I requested they take it back. They offered to remake it, but by the time I received the new, presumably hit items, everybody else would be done. They comped my entire meal.(I still tipped Kim – it wasn’t her fault.) Kim and the kitchen manager came to apologize several times trying to explain the mishaps. While our table understood the issue of the other waitress screwing up her orders and therefore messing up ours, it was a shit show. We have been there several times before with experiences ranging from okay food and decent service to terrible food and even worse service, but continue to try again due to location. Despite Kim being the saving grace of this establishment, we will not be giving Brew’d Pub any more chances.

We loved breakfast. The menu was limited but all was delicious. I enjoyed the Braddock omelet and shared the best pancakes I’ve ever had with my husband. They were thick and soft and fluffy yet slightly crisp on the outside. I loved the atmosphere, the building is historic and awesone and there was a fire burning in the fireplace. It was quiet and the server was very attentive.

We discovered this place by accident and are very glad we did. The bartender Elizabeth is very friendly and they have great beers on draft. Had the fish and chips today-very good.

Sitting at the bar enjoying a few cold beverages. Overall, I could be a regular here. The house is beautiful, the beer selection is fantastic, and the food is pretty good. My only issue is the service. Maybe a bad day(their computers did go down while I was here), but for a non-crowded Saturday afternoon, the wait for beer/food was not promising. Overall, great spot. A few tweets and improvement on service and it could be hands-down local favorite.

Came to this place around 12:30 on a Saturday afternoon. There was only one other table with people in the entire restaurant. It was a nice day so we decided to eat outside. The outdoor patio is lovely. Plenty of shade. Since it’s so close to the road, it us a bit noisy, but not too bad. Our waitress was nice and the food was OK, but it took forever to get it, and there was only one other table, with two people, and they had already been served. There was no good reason that it took so long.

I’ve been here four times since opening day. Opening day thoughts: Well, they’re new and figuring things out. It’s OK that it things are super slow and the server seems a bit snappy. Food is good though. Next two visits: I can’t wait until they can start doing the wood oven pizzas they have on the menu for the future. Where is my order? Fourth visit: Why does my husband keep wanting to come here? The food is good, but not that good. I have somewhere to be and am sick of waiting… PS. For the love of God, please gently close the door behind you, if you let it swing closed it is sooooo loud!
