Wowies, reading some of the other reviews I’m shocked as if I’m reading about a completely different restaurant. Even the one that said he’s been here 20 times and then had one bad experience, probably doesn’t warrant a 1 star review. Couldn’t have been that bad the first 19. I’m only saying because I don’t think my judgment is off, and this place is such a 5 stars. The only crime is that it’s a block or two off Market Street so it doesn’t get the same foot traffic. Plus, from the outside you would NEVER guess this place serves some of the food that it does. My other gripe is that most people I know say, «The only reason I’d go all the way to Frederick is to go to Volt» which is another crime since there are so many other good places to go, and this is proof. So about the food. They have a very SMALL basic menu. That’s because they have about 10 – 15 daily specials that change every day. They only use fresh ingredients, so whatever they have come in for the day is what the chef makes. The chef himself is quite talented. Spoke with the waiter about him for a while and he had nothing but the greatest things to say. In fact he said the chef was invited to be on Food Network’s show«Chopped» at one time which I found to be pretty cool. They brought out some sort of complimentary fried pork belly amuse bouche which was nice and unexpected. Came with this sort of bbq/buffalo sauce combination. Everything we ordered came out great. Such a great surprise. Definitely one of my new Frederick Favorites
