I had been here a lot when it was Mick’s so I was interested to see what was different. The décor is basically the same, which is fine– I like it! Comfortable and nice. The food was OK. Our service was… non-existent. It was lunch time and there were maybe two other tables in the whole place. Sad. I don’t think we’ll be back because there’s just too many other good places to eat here in Frederick.

Love the location! Loved it when it was Manyunk, Jennifers, and Mick’s-we live close by. Unfortunately, there’s not much else to love. Wanted to come here after reading that they were Pargo’s re-dux-one chain that we liked. So, my friend and I went to The Reunion one day for lunch. Ordered Salade Nicoise. Easy, right? Lettuce, tomato, green beans, tuna, olives, anchovies, capers, potato, hard boiled egg. Nice big salad. Um no. 3 green beans! 3, I counted. No olives, had to ask. Was given 5. 2 chunks of canned tuna. Half an egg, could you spare it? And a teeny cut up potato. Heavy on the oregano and if I wasn’t really hungry, I’d have left it. My lunch buddy ordered mussels. meh. Not so fresh, pretty blah with quite a few that didn’t open when cooked-but they sent them out to us anyway. ewww. Service was outstanding on this occasion. THEN… We were invited to The Reunion for an after work Happy Hour. We were told it was until 7:00. My friends were sitting at the bar when I arrived, and the bartender asked them to move to accomodate a larger party who insisted on sitting at the bar-there was a reason for this unbeknownst to my buddies. So, I order a drink from the bartender and joined them at the table. She informed me that since it’s after 6:00 it is no longer HH. When the check came we also found out that APPARENTLY if you are not sitting at the bar the cost of your drinks are no longer on Happy Hour prices! Ordered munchies, and before we were finished-the waiter was wisking them off the table! No reason to go back. Too bad. The ambience could really make this a cool hangout for people like us, who tip well, like good food and are willing to overlook just about anything except bait & switch.

First time visiting since the hard to watch decline of Mick’s. Service– Good and attentive Food– Standard Bar fare, had an appetizer and salad, both were good. Nothing super memorable but everything tasted fine. Drinks– Need better Draft Beer Selection Ambiance– Very nice, l’ve always liked the space and the new owner has done a good job with keeping in warm and casual.

I went here to watch some live music and was pleasantly surprised by pretty much everything. The restaurant is a straight up American pub separated into two rooms. The front room has the bar, some table seating and a spot for a band to play while the back room contains more table seating. The interior is mostly brick and wood with a relaxed atmosphere. And maybe it’s the brick or just the layout in general, but we all commented on how the acoustics of the place were better than most bars we’ve gone to for live music. The staff were all friendly and welcoming and went out of their way to know my name despite a pretty full house and my beer never hit empty without someone asking me if I wanted another, unprompted(which is just about unheard of for bars, especially with me not being a regular… this was my first time in the place). Prices are low for the pub food — cheesesteak sub, hamburger, french dip, pull pork sandwich, etc, all under $ 9. I really want to try their turkey pretzel sandwich because that sounded awesome but I went for the french dip, as I always do at any new place that has a french dip available, and it was good — the bread was good, the meat was quality, the portions were good and the shoestring fries were just right. It didn’t look like they had a wide selection of beer or wine but they had two of my favorites on tap: Stella and Sweet Baby Jesus(what! I can like those two! You can’t stop me! I do what I want!) Entrees are in the $ 11 — $ 22 range and include fish, chicken, steaks and ribs. Guy beside me had a steak that looked pretty good. I didn’t ask what he thought of it but he ate the whole thing so not too bad, apparently. Their website has an events calendar and it looks like they do local live music pretty regularly. I got street parking near the front of the building but there’s also a public parking garage just to the east on W Patrick St, easy walking distance away. Not real sure about their hours, actually. Their website says open til 11pm Friday and Saturday but we were there til after midnight and they didn’t appear to be closing when I left so maybe they’re still working out what their hours are gonna be. It’s a bit removed from the happening spots of Market Street but I’d be a new regular here if I actually lived in Frederick.(How come nobody opens places like this in Germantown. We like beer and music too!)
