Meh, nothing out of the ordinary. Your standard menu similar to Fridays, Ruby Tuesdays… those kind of places. Service was fine, food was fine. I don’t like when their DJ’s come on the weekends, way too loud. Should definatly turn that down a notch. Prices are reasonable… for the most part.

We stopped in here on a quick trip to Frederick and were really surprised by the negative reviews. We had wings as an appetizer and each had a burger. We got the blazin hot wings and they certainly were blazing, good for our taste. Standard bar food but we enjoyed our food. Service was excellent. The drink specials were a nice perk, glass of wine for $ 5 instead of the normal $ 8. Domestic beer for $ 2.50. All in all we had a good experience and we’ll return for the game and good food.

Love the original but the chain suffers in Frederick. Went during In the Streets and yes it was busy but they knew it would be busy. The waiter was rushing us and poor. The ENTIRE dinner we did not get silverware. Only way we to napkins was asking another waiter for silverware when our waiter failed for third time. Food very bar typical. Fried pickles were over fried & greasy, the club(bread) was burnt.

The place is in a great location and has a decent set up for a sports bar. The food was very good. My server, Stacy B, was very helpful and familiar with the menu. I was a bit skeptical because of some of the reviews but I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. I would recommend this a place to have a decent meal and maybe even enjoy a sporting event on the tube.

Came here to get out of the heat wave one day downtown, ended up waiting nearly 2HOURS for a table. Yes. I could understand the wait if the staff were busy but NO there were actually well over 10 tables cleaned and ready to be seated throughout the restaurant. My friends and I actually ended up sitting down for a moment at an empty table only to be forced out of it demanded to return to standing… And guess what? That very same table ended up being the very table they sat us at! Does that make any sense to you what so ever? No! And no, no one was seated there during our wait and no it wasn’t wiped down or prepped what so ever before we were seated either. Secondly the staff down right rude, we were brought warm water with no ice, and also the ice-cream we ordered was promptly brought out within less than a minute but was a complete melted puddle, completely! Do not waste your money or your time here there are better establishments in the area.

Decent happy hour prices including $ 5 Malibu concoctions, but the service was lackluster. Very nice outside seating are overlooking the creek. I can’t comment on the food other than to say it looked like bar fare similar to BW3s.

This is arguably the worst place in Frederick. It’s a shame, because the location is phenomenal, especially when the weather is nice and you can sit outside on the patio by the creek. That said… If you must go here, your best bet is during the day. The bar scene here is reprehensible — the type of people that frequent this place could be described, at best, as unsavory. I’m talking hot headed, arrogant, borderline disgusting clientele. The drink prices aren’t good and they often have a «DJ» who simply plays a pre-set mix from their laptop or iPod. It’s embarrassing. To put it mildly, this place has ruined what was previously a great downtown bar scene by becoming a magnet for drunks fascinated with the behavior they’ve seen on Jersey Shore. Yet, it’s bad during the day too. Unless you enjoy a waiter who wears his pants so low you can see his boxers, you’ll probably find the service insulting. Some of the girls are pleasant enough, but the male servers are jerks. The food is average at best and over-priced for what you get. Never the less, the menu does offer a robust amount of options from salads to sandwiches, steak to seafood. So there’s that. Really, just avoid this place. If you’re downtown, then literally every other restaurant you walk past will be better than this Greene Turtle.

It’s the same ol’ story. Boy meets girl. Girl falls in love with boy. Girl and Boy break up. Girl and Boy bump into each other 4 years later at a sports bar-turned night club just before closing. Oh, what don’t I love about coming home to Frederick? The story is about my sister, not me. We were out for a Man’s Night Out(whereby you drink whiskey and beer and go to divey bars) on Market Street and hopped over to the Turtle just before closing. I’m not going to tell you about the food. I’ve been to both Turtles in Ocean City, the new one in Rehoboth, and the one in the Mount and they’re all the same. Semi-decent crab cake sandwich. Nothing special. Drink specials during the week. We didn’t go to eat in Frederick. We went to drink. This place was your oh-so-college hook up club. Music’s too loud. If you step on the dance floor, even if you are just trying to get to the patio, someone will grind on you. And that’s okay. That’s what you expect when you go into it. You can also expect encounters because it’s likely half of the people you went to high school with will be here at some point in time over the holidays. Because people need to drink when they are visiting family. I know. Goes without saying. I was surprised they actually had a drink special on a Friday night. $ 5 pinnacle bombs. I let the bartender surprise me with the flavor. I think it was good, but mostly tasted like red bull. Probably would have been better if I hadn’t had 3 beers already. I know the old saying, but I never learn and, yes, I think the pinnacle bomb put me over the edge that night. Still, sweet drink deals. It’s gets 3 stars for being grimey and not really anything special. But if you want to hook-up, people watch, relive the past, get wasted, or watch your friend crawl around on the floor it’s a good place to go.

Great place to bring the family. The kids like the kids menu and we all like eating outside when the weather is nice. Typical sports bar food, typical prices. The wait staff is above average, Romeo was fantastic and we’ll request him when we can.

Decent sports bar, very good bloody mary, wings were good(Maryland style with Old Bay). Disappointed with the crab soup. If I lived here, I’d go, but I would always be looking for a better place.

Yeah, this place was a disaster. Food was mediocre at best but much closer to bad than good. Location was terrible in downtown Frederick. Felt like I was in a bad part of DC. It pretty much is a drinking spot for college kids and for people who refuse to grow up. Loud and abrasive don’t go if you are hungry only if you want to get drunk. With a large handwritten sign that had the following restrictions: No gang colors allowed, No bandannas allowed, No backward hats allowed, No plain white t-shirts allowed. Talk about walking in and immediatley not feeling safe. Serioulsy this place was a train wreck and I will never return.

Why, oh why did I come here? Well, because I would see this place everytime we went to the beach and decided to give it a try. That’s why. Oh what a mistake it was. First, I have to give it one star because I would never go back, ever, even if someone else was paying. But I digress… le’t s get to heart of the matter. Me and my family enjoying a lovely day on our first excursion to Frederick. Unknowingly passing many local eating spots because crazy mommy wanted to try Green Turtle food! We arrive, we order an appetizer of the crab dip and an order of mozzarella sticks… I know, boring, but that is kind of what the menu was. The mozzarella sticks were well… what can you say about mozzarella sticks? The crab dip wasn’t bad I must say, a little too much cheese but it was nice how they came with soft pretzel sticks. Interesting and different but kind of hard to use with crab dip. You can’t really spread it too well. Oh, and did I mention that the appetizer took forever to come out? Main course… I was so uninspired by the menu that I ordered the soup of the day and a house salad. Which by the way, the waitress had not tasted. I think every restaurant should have their waitstaff tastes all the specials and at some point unless they are totally averse to something, try every item on the menu. Hey, that’s just my opinion. So, me ordering soup, this is bad because I am not a soup and salad type of lady. Waiting, waiting, waiting… I’m not hungry anymore. My husband gets up to tell the waitress to cancel my order and then she comes to the table to verify that I want my order cancelled. Well, yeah, isn’t that what my hubby just told you? My hubby ordered the tuna with rice and veggies and his piece of tuna was about the size of a rock. It was so small, it was laughable, I couldn’t believe they served it. They gave him about a half a cup of the rice and some sad looking broccoli. He asked me if I wanted some and it was easy for me to pass on it. Kids had pizza and mac n cheese and they said the pizza was decent but the mac and cheese was just kraft mac and cheese straight from the box. One thing I didn’t like was that when my daughter ordered root beer with her kids meal the waitress didn’t inform us that it was $ 3 extra. She brought it opened to the table in the bottle and that is when I asked her if it was included and she said no, we took it anyway and I told her next time she should really tell people it’s extra, which I heard her later do to the people behind us when they wanted the same thing. Anyway, writing this review is even boring to me and this is one of two places I will never step foot into again. The first place is Savannah’s in Kensington, MD. I ‘m sure others love this place but there are too many other decent and satisfying places with better service out there for me to spend my money at.

The Greene Turtle Frederick is a nightclub that masquerades as a sports bar. Do not go here to watch sports. I used to go there to watch UFC fights but they hire a DJ blasts hiphop as loud as he possibly can during the fights. They also attract a very ghetto crowd. A few months ago someone was stabbed in the bar. There are fights there every night, and it is not a safe environment. You have to get wanded by a metal detector just to get in! I should also mention my friend was once served a beer bottle with a chip in it. While he was bleeding on the table they offered to replace his beer without an apology. If someone gets cut from a bottle I believe you should receive a little more compensation than that. Do not go to Greene Turtle Frederick. It is not safe!!!

It’s a SPORTSBAR that serves food on the side. What can you expect?! When they take away the glass drinking glasses and bring out plastic cups at 9 pm… you have to figure… this is not a fine dining establishment.

Wow! I’m really surprised at the low ratings for this place. But then, I do love going to Greene Turtle! I think they got some great stuff! I met a friend here for dinner since I was already in Frederick for a meeting. We agreed to meet here because of an inside joke. Don’t ask! However, I quickly learned while asking for directions to this place at the meeting that this particular Greene Turtle isn’t easy to locate. Good thing I was led there because on my own, I might’ve given up and gone home. But…I made it! Came in and quickly noticed that this Greene Turtle was the smallest that I’ve been to. And therefore, a smaller menu selection. However, the menu still offered some food. I had the Monte Cristo sandwich… only because the menu said that it came with the fluffliest bread. I thought… yeah, right… but let’s see. Wow, they really meant it! Basically, I had a good time here! Good friend! Good food! Good drinks! Good waiter! They just need to make the place easy to find.

The Greene Turtle is, above all else, a sports bar. Every table has a flat screen TV with sports playing on it, and the menu is typical American fare. I tried changing the channel to Oprah, or weather, or anything else, but to my dismay, it just reverted right back to sports. There’s a huge menu with a lot of food to choose from, but the food is average. I’d call this a definite«guy place» where a group of guys would go to hang out, grab a beer on tap, watch some games and eat all that greasy fried stuff they love. If that’s what you enjoy, The Greene Turtle may be the place for you. While it is a sports bar, it is family friendly, if your family enjoys sports. If you’re not keen on sports or don’t like the idea of a TV screen being shoved in your face while you eat, you might be better off going to a place like Applebee’s or TGI Friday’s. To sum it up: PROs: Great guy place. Family friendly. Huge menu with something for everyone. Nice location, too. CONs: Mediocre Food, TVs at your table playing stuff you don’t want to watch unless you’re really obsessed with sports. I don’t know about you, but when I go to a restaurant with friends, I want to talk to them, not watch television.

OK, to start I love the turtle. I am sorry for the lack of a Verizon signal but I don’t think that is a reason to play down this place. And as far as the CAPS go, we go there for almost every game that we do not attend in person. The drink specials are good and the staff is friendly, minus the bartenders, who have a HUGE complex. In my opinion that is the only reason this place is not 5 stars. If you want good food a reasonably priced drinks, then this is the place to go.

I give them a big fat BOO. They should be ashamed of themselves. I see ads for them all the time when watching the caps game so we decided for a little HH one night. Big mistake. Margaritas weak. Cadillac Margarita just slightly better, but still weak. Our waitress was a sweet girl but she kept forgetting people’s drinks. One of our friends liked to drink his captain and coke with a straw. He ordered 10 of them through the course of the night and had to ask for a straw each time. She was a bit forgetful, but not mean or bad in any way. The food horrible. Could of had better nachos at a movie theater and better burgers at McDonalds. The only nice thing is that they have a patio to sit at. That’s it. I should have listed to all the reviews before going here, but the bf wanted to go so we went. This is a mistake we will not soon repeat.

The Green Turtle is my 6-year-old son’s 2nd favorite restaurant in Frederick — after Chuck-E-Cheese. I’d say the food quality and atmosphere at The Green Turtle is equal to Chuck-E-Cheese. The only difference? The people at Chuck-E-Cheese seem a lot happier. The Green Turtle is in a great building in a great location. There are TVs on the tables, and in the corners, and wherever else they could find to place them. I’d guess the kitchen is dominated by a freezer and deep fryers. Because that’s the kind of food they serve: Chicken wings, jalapeño poppers, and french fries.

Well… it’s a sports bar. Will I go back? No, but not for reasons that will sway you. The restaurant has no Verizon signal whats-so-ever. So whether it’s the babysitter, or the friends running late, or the date wondering where to meet you, I can’t function without my phone… With that said, it’s a large room(no real character) with lots of young pretty people, and super friendly wait staff. The wings were good, the appetizers better then normal, but it «is» bar food. Service was excellant. The location ideal, along Carroll Creek. It is the«new» happy hour spot for TGIF.
