If you are looking for a costume for any kind of event, STAGE & SCREEN on Hwy 85 /​Buckeystown Pike in Frederick has got to be your destination! They have an incredibly large selection of outfits from every era, and more importantly, they have them in a wide range of sizes. My fiancé and I decided at the last minute to go to the RETRO BALL on Saturday, ³⁄₂₈. We didn’t have outfits to wear, but the customer service associate at VENUS ON THE HALF SHELL suggested we try STAGE & SCREEN.
Let me explain: my fiancé is 6’9″, and I am 6’1″. I wear a size 16 — 18, and my fiancé wears a size 54 jacket (in addition to having VERY long legs!). Not only did STAGE & SCREEN have something for each of us, they actually had several options for both of us. Once we each selected an outfit, they then hemmed my fiancé’s pants ON THE SPOT — even though the store was very busy, and it was less than an hour to closing. They also pressed both outfits, and made suggestions for hats, wigs and glasses to match the outfits.
The service they provided, the cheerful attitudes and willingness to make sure that the outfits were exactly what we were looking, the conversations about the Retro Ball and other events for which costumes could be used, the reasonable rental rates for the costumes — and the fact that they actually have a Darth Vader costume that would fit my fiancé (which made his entire weekend, even though it wasn’t what we were there for!) — made this a truly great experience for both of us. We both highly recommend STAGE & SCREEN to anyone looking for a costume for any event, and we are already thinking of other opportunities for us to use their services again!
