Review based on copying/printing services only. I’ve yet to buy a printer since I seldom need to print stuff but when I do — this is where I come and their services make it a breeze. The trick is getting the salesperson to walk you through it(and print black/white to save $$) as the first time using the kiosk can be a little tricky. I don’t buy office supplies here but I can imagine their prices aren’t the cheapest.

For years, I’ve gone to this Staples whenever I needed to get a 96-page spiral-bound booklet printed and, as it turned out, I needed one about once every other month. And they always cost me $ 28. For some reason(I forget why), I switched from Staples to Minuteman Press five months ago. They’re also on 7th Street and they also charge $ 28 per booklet. A couple days ago, I had Minuteman print up two booklets. Then on Saturday, I realized I needed one more, but Minuteman is closed on the weekends. «No problem,» I said to myself. «I’ll just go to my buddies at good old Staples and get them to print me up that third booklet. I’ll bet they missed me.» I guess a lot can happen in five months. Ben, the long time backbone of the Staples print staff was gone, and so were the others I had worked with for so long, replaced by a couple of strangers. No matter. I handed the new girl my flash drive and told her what I wanted. She said it would be ready in three hours. I returned three hours later and, as promised, there was my newly printed booklet ready to go. Price: $ 58 I chuckled. «You guys always charge $ 26 plus tax,» I explained. «You must have hit a wrong key or something. I just got two of these printed at Minuteman yesterday — 28 bucks apiece — and you know how expensive they are.» She whacked away at her keyboard for about 30 seconds before swiveling the computer screen in my direction. «See?» she began, pointing at a set of figures on the screen I couldn’t make out. «You’ve got 96 pages, double-sided, color, blah, blah, blah.» I was quickly losing interest in her monologue. I could tell I was fighting a losing battle. Sometime during the past five months, the price for printing a 96-page spiral-bound booklet rose over 100% at Staples, and there wasn’t a hell of a lot I could do about it. I told the new girl I wasn’t going to pay her that much when I could get the exact same thing printed four blocks away for $ 28. So, right there in front of me, she disassembled the freshly made booklet and threw the pages into the trash. The end.

Stop in to pick up some notebooks. All staples are the same. The store was pretty empty but had the items I needed in stock. The staff was friendly and helpful too.
