I was so excited to try Tastebud as I saw great reviews saying, good food, good prices, bad location. Sounded great to me! I called ahead and asked when they served breakfast until. He answered kinda rudely and just said«hello?» In a half angry voice, as if I were calling someone’s home as a telemarketer at dinner time, but not a big deal, no problem, he said 11:30 was when they served breakfast until. Their website says they’re open til 1:00 and the sign on their door said open til noon. We got there at 11:15 and the open sign was on, the door was locked, and no one was there. I waited for a bit and knocked but no one answered. I wanted to help a local business, but I guess I’ll try to go some other time.

Awesome find! Tried this place on a whim after driving by on my lunch break. Good food and good prices. No complaints here.

Robert S’s review is on the mark. We went a few miles out of our way and it was worth it. Clean place, good food, reasonable prices. Husband and wife there very friendly but have no idea what Unilocal is, so I posted a few pics as it’s a bit difficult to find without GPS. Give it a try! I had the Reuben sub and fries. Really good! Fries are frozen crinkled but perfectly cooked to a golden crunch.

This place gets a bad rap for some reason, I can’t wrap my head around why. By no means is it «gourmet» or «fancy,» its just good home cooked and well priced food. I have had their lunch speical once or twice, and it was decent, but I’m there for breakfast at least 3 times a week, usually ordering a breakfast sandwich, or an omelette. The owners, I think husband and wife, are incredibly kind. They are the only employees, that I have ever seen work there, but they seem to enjoy it. Tastebud is truly the hidden gem of Frederick. It’s a shame they have such a terrible location, because I’m sure more people would frequent it.
