This is a great place to go to for cold beer and late night food. Also not bad to sit at the bar and watch a game with the guys. It wouldn’t come for the food or service. While the food is below average, it is certainly edible. Nothing awful here I just have yet to see anything worth going back for. Went again while on an evening road-trip with this being the only bar I knew in the area with a kitchen serving food past 10: PM.(They serve until 11) The bar service is adequate, but not really attentive or friendly. The demeanor of one bartender was disinterest. The demeanor of the other bartender consisted of regular cursing and flipping off customers at both ends of the bar. Granted, these were«regulars» she seemed to have some relationship with, but it was present enough that I figured this must be TK’s «thing.» Kind of like the Coyote Ugly bartenders would yell at patrons, maybe it applies here and I just didn’t get the memo. I’m not against profanity, it just didn’t fit the glossy franchise image. I’d expect it in a local dive bar. Have to admit I’m a fan of the genre of restaurants with scantily clad waitresses, but this place is no Hooters. The clientele is 95% males and watching the regular customers talking-up the staff as if they really care is kind of depressing. Tough to explain, but go grab a drink at the bar and watch for yourself. Still haven’t seen any food they are known for. Is there a food item people return to the Tilted Kilt to eat? It certainly isn’t featured anywhere. The wings looked average. The burgers look okay in the pictures and I should try one if I return. I took the advice of another review here and tried the French Dip(Irish Dip) and it’s pretty bad. I mean, it’s edible, but you get very dry sliced beef on a low quality sub roll and the dip is an extremely dark and salty bouillon broth. I think you could die t-shirts with it. It was like no other«dip» I’ve ever experienced. The stars I give this place keep dropping. I want to like it. I’d much rather have a TK then another Applebees, Ruby Tuesday or TGIF. While the costumed staff were not impressive in friendliness or service, the food runners were very nice. One time it was a woman in slacks who may be a manager there. The beer selection is very good. As in prior visits, most of the waitresses spend their time huddled around a back table chatting with each other. Tilted Kilt… I just don’t get it.

Had lunch here with my friend after spending time at the shooting range on 1÷10÷2015. We didn’t really expect great food since most come for the sports on any of the gazillion TV’s around the place or the other«scenery.» I got the Irish Dip and my friend got the SPICYMOTHERCLUCKER Chicken Sandwich. Man, were we surprised. The Irish Dip is sort of a philly steak and get dipped with each bite in au jus. The Mother Clucker is a pretty big chicken sandwich that looks like it would be dried and hard but my friend said he was surprised at how good it was and glad he got it. For the atmosphere, food, and«friendly» service, this was a nice break from the typical burger joint. Will certainly visit again.

Frequent business traveler to the Frederick/DC area. From Milwaukee, been all over U.S. & the world. I’m often a big spender & a loyal regular. I went to this Tilted Kilt quite a few times around 6 months after they first opened. Had great happy hour & late night specials, lots of energy, most girls were awesome. Had been away a year, returned twice these last 2 weeks. Wow were the bartender girls HORRIBLE! Nothing but attitude, them talking garbage about customers, complaining how they hated being there all day or their feet hurt and that’s why the wouldn’t smile. Once you say something they don’t like, they ignore you. Had to ask 3 times and wait 20 minutes just for a menu! They tend to huddle and gossip/use the cell phones around areas of the bar with no customers or ignore anyone who annoys them, but hang out with regulars they like. Some of the table servers and hostess seemed nice but the Tuesday night bartenders are 1000% chasing good customers away! Never seen anything so unprofessional, unclassy, and out of control. It’s too bad because ended up befriending everyone close by me in the bar(who were equally disgusted) and we tried to make the best of it. Meanwhile all trading ideas of a better local spot to get good food and drinks. The wings were pretty awesome also, too bad a few bad apples and their horrible attitudes are chasing good customers away!

What the heck is wrong with people? I don’t understand why some of these wannabe food critics feel obligated to be so doggone nasty. This ain’t the New York Times, you know. It’s Unilocal! As in Help, except for us commoners who just want an honest opinion — not a highbrow critique. I liked this joint! Great looking waitresses! Friendly. Fast. Pretty. Gracious. Helpful. Pretty. Thoughtful. Pleasant. Pretty. Nice. Humorous. Pretty. Did I mention how pretty the waitresses were? Oh, and the chow ain’t half bad either. Decent sandwich selection. The thing is this joint is in a place that previously served as the home for at least three failed restaurants. Maybe this one will survive. Lots of competition surrounding the joint. But no matter. I think the new owners have their act together. This is more sports bar than restaurant. And when the weather is nice, they open it up for great outdoor seating! All things considered, it’s kinda fun hanging here. Besides, they’ve got pretty waitresses.

We walked into this restaurant on a Friday night. The teenager at the front desk was wearing a bra — very awkward. She was leaning over the counter and even my kids were uncomfortable. We left. Definitely not a family restaurant.

This was my first visit to Tilted Kilt… and I’m going to be that cliché person who says«this was my first visit and my last visit» There wasn’t anything wrong with the service or the food… our server was very nice. It was when the bill came and we had all these random charges. I ordered a burger that came with ranch. I asked for extra ranch. My friend asked for extra sauce too and another pickle. We were shocked to see those were extra charges. This is a RESTAURANT right? Are they going to charge us for extra napkins? I was actually insulted by this. When I was a waitress I did whatever the customer wanted… you want more bread? Let me get you extra butter too. Need bbq sauce? I’ll even heat it up for you. And IRONICALLY, I got my burger without a bun, so I think I ought to be reimbursed $ 2.80 for saving them money for the bun. Since we’re making up prices for things. My friend complained and they removed it from her bill. They left my charges on since I didn’t complain. It’s not even about the 60 cents. It’s the principle of the thing. And then they try to use the excuse that the waitress needs to ring it up into the system in order to let the kitchen know. I get that. But you put the price as $ 0.00. Don’t insult my intelligence. This is just a way to rake in a couple extra dollars every day for people that don’t look closely at their bill. What a bunch of crap. Oh and speaking of crap, the bathroom was literally so bad, my friend walked across the street to Panera to use the restroom.

Its Hooters with an American version of an Irish pub. The food was good. The waitress was ok. The beer was beer. Id go back but probably only with my buddies and not my wife. They clearly are marketing to men. Lots of tvs and lots of cleavage.

Pleasantly surprised by the food and drinks. Hubby and I went when we didn’t have any kids in tow, so we sat at a bar table and there were PLENTY of TVs in sight to watch any number of games. That’s a good thing, so I didn’t have to crane my neck to see the O’s play. My brother in law manages a tilted Kilt out in CO, so we did have a little expectation going for us. We went on a Wednesday evening so it wasn’t crowded but was still busy enough. Again, an O’s game was on so I think that and the live entertainment(Trivia night) was also reason for people to come. Atmosphere: Surroundings were nice, décor was nice, table and area were clean — I would give this 4⁄5 stars. Server was nice, welcoming, knew about the menu, had great recommendations(grilled wings!) and recommendations for drinks — We ordered two bombers and two mixed drinks. I had grilled wings and hubby had garlic Parmesan fries. The Angry orchard Cinnamon apple bomber was awesome! I loved every bit of it– Angry orchard apple ale along with fireball cinnamon whiskey and a hint of lime. YESSSSSSS! also had a tropical bamaha mama style drink that was ok, I can’t remember what it was called tho so it must not have been that special. I was not really all that happy about how little each server wears — I mean let’s leave a little to the imagination here — one poor girl had to keep popping her boob back into her«shirt» — can’t they make the server uniforms a slight bit larger than a kids’ size 4? Sheesh, these girls have to work around hot food. I get seeing boobs and butts and stuff and how sex sells, but sometimes safety is compromised when a girl is carrying a tray full of hot food and her outfit doesn’t fit her well enough. If you’re offering outfits like that — make sure the outfit fits the girl, don’t force it the other way around. What made our visit the most interesting and memorable was the gentleman in the kilt that was a patron of the bar — he had a real live wooden leg that was gorgeously carved. He gave it more character than any one else in that joint. Hands down. He was cool.

After a round of golf in the heat, I was ready for some good food and ice cold beer! Heard about this chain of restaurants, but never been. Waitresses and bartenders were attentive and chatty. Had to have an Irish Dish since this was an Irish themed restaurant. Good portion and tasty. Would definitely go back when I’m the Frederick area.

Fish tacos mediocre at best. Service was good though as waitress was quick to refill drinks and very attentive. Fries were frozen(boring!). I guess you don’t come here for the food though.

Great place! Great service! I have been coming here off and on for almost a year. I never had a «Bad» meal. Any time I have had any kind of issue the servers and management were quick to fix any problem regardless of how small it may be. I cannot be more thankful for this restaurant and their great service. And as far as their outfits go, they never show anything more than what you would see at a beach. Actually they show less. And quite a bit less than less comparable franchises. Thank you to the Tilted Kilt for your wonderful service and great fun. I hope to join you for the future fights to come!

Barely legal waitresses in barely visible PLAID skirts(let’s not kid ourselves about their attire being in any way related to Scottish kilts, shall we?), serving incredibly mediocre food. Really so very unoriginal and unimpressive. So, rewind for a moment. I had never heard of The Tilted Kilt before setting foot inside. I was told it was Hooters with kilts. Being a proud mini-kilt owner/wearer myself, I was curious. So, the way too young, way too thin, ditzy waitress thing was the first letdown. I thought I could resurrect the visit with some decent Irish(cause again, I wasn’t kidding myself and expecting real Shepherd’s Pie or Haggis) pub food and a snake bite. Well, at least I got the Snake Bite and thank goodness too, because it numbed my outrage to the shocking lack of food to support the theme. Beef on a stick is what I wound up with — and it was very tasty! For being marinated in teriyaki sauce. «But you should come back on Fridays when everybody comes in with their kilts!» I think probably no.

I was pleasantly surprised! The wait staff was friendly and helpful. The food was more like an Irish pub than a greasy dive. I had the Irish chicken breast and my friend had a chopped chicken salad. My dish was really tasty. Excellent beer selection, on tap and in bottles. As a bonus, the waitresses were really attractive! And friendly!

Dropped in one evening for a quick drink and a burger, wish I hadn’t. Drink order of a single malt scotch took forever while sitting at a half full bar. I tried my best to order a meal, but waitstaff, who for some reason, seemed to be wearing their little sisters clothes, couldn’t seem to be bothered. I gave up, paid for my drink, and went to Checkers. The wait staff there knew their business, kind of wonder what business the servers at the Kilt are in. It’s sure not food service. I guess I’m not cut out for places that require security for their waitstaff.

Finally made it into the TK in Frederick. Tilted Kilt occupies a soft spot in my heart due to an amazing experience at the San Diego Gaslamp location. Came in at about 7:50PM. Was seated almost immediately. My waitress Paige was very friendly without being overbearing. Drinks were brought out quickly. For an appetizer, I got the pub pretzels. They were served hot with a very tasty beer cheese for dipping. My burger arrived at the table about 7 minutes after I was finished with the pretzels. TK’s burgers are very tasty and the bun really sets them apart. The bun really holds up to the burger and any toppings without becoming soggy. The French fries were also very good and I appreciate that malt vinegar is already on the table. Ketchup, mustard and hot sauce are also kept on the table, along with toothpicks. Service was INCREDIBLY fast. I was in and out in 30 minutes. The restaurant was steady, probably about 70% full. I was thoroughly impressed with the wait and kitchen staff’s efficiency. I will gladly recommend this location to others and visit again myself.

Not impressed. Service was slow despite the restaurant being relatively empty. They took about 20 minutes to even get me a children’s menu(there were a number of other children in the restaurant) and they evidently needed to print them. Why weren’t they ready? We waited almost a half hour for a grilled cheese! Really. Ridiculous.

Walked in after nine, was told they dont have the late night hoppy hour that is all over their website because they just opened and dont have to have any specials… $ 5 bud lights, small servings of overpriced bar food, always a sausage party to boot… lol, oh but thats right, the skimpy outfits make up for it, no thx… go to Champions instead for the real deal, or if its after nine the Applebees around the corner is always fun too…
