Really great place to eat! Highly recommend. I had the eggplant/hummus wrap with sweet potato fries and the coconut/lemon drink. Everything was wonderful. You should go.

Two things have changed since the last time I was here. One, they now have meat(ick). Two, the prices went up. At least they charge more for the meat items. The vegetarian sandwiches are now $ 6.50(meal combos start at $ 9.99). I ordered the same sandwich as last time(hummus and eggplant). It wasn’t quite as good – not sure why – but was delicious and I am already craving another. I’m going to try to come here more often, since Frederick has so few restaurants worth returning to. Oh, I guess there is a third change – they now cater.

In town for training and wasn’t sure where to eat – but you can’t really go wrong with a gyro and fries! I was able to get street(metered) parking right outside. The inside does not have tables and chairs, but two counters with stools(not the most comfortable, but doable). There is also a table with chairs outside, but it was too cold for me. The husband/wife team running the place were quick and helpful. I always appreciate a family business! They have a 9.99 lunch special – any sandwich with fries or rice and a drink. I got the gyro(very tasty, fresh, and huge chunks of feta) and fries. The fries were the kind that has a slight batter or cornmeal on the outside. Really good. Everything was done in about 3 minutes. I also like how they make to go containers available. Very fast, very good. Would definitely suggest this place for a quick lunch, but don’t bring more than 8 people with you – there won’t be enough seats!

Didn’t get to try them as they closed at 6 pm when Unilocal said 8 pm. Took us 10 minutes to find parking and got there at 6:03.

Had the falafel and rice today with the hibiscus juice– absolutely amazing! The flavors were fresh and the service friendly. My boyfriend also ate with me– he had the gyro with fries and he was very pleased. Will be back!

The food was really delicious, but… … it’s awkward when the two people working are having a force ten blowout argument right in front of you. It wasn’t an argument in English but based on gestures, it seemed to center on who would have the displeasure of waiting on us. …and there’s no A/C on and no air circulating on a hot day, making it feel as though you’re eating in the center of the sun …and it would be nice to know that feta cheese and hummus were extra before we paid(yes, getting hummus is an extra charge *at a place called That Hummus Place* — WTF?). Minor complaints compared to how solid the food was. Setting expectations accordingly will really help you enjoy this place. From what I had been told I was expecting a sitdown place, but I’d think it’s really best for carryout. I won’t be going back because the fight was so offputting, but the food was pretty good and had I not seen the argument I’d consider stopping in again.

Hummus was pretty good. Good flavor and texture. Falafel is apparently homemade. It had a very good flavor. It was a bit pricey… $ 18 for a very basic salad with a few pieces of falafel on it and a side of hummus(without pita) and a hot tea. The service is pretty slow as it is only the owner doing everything. I didn’t like the open salad/condiment bar concept, plus it was right in front of the door, so anything that might fly into the building when a person walks in is likely to land right in the salad bar. I think the food is good, but other things are what kept it from getting a higher rating.

This place succeeds in being what it is intended to be: a quick place to get a delicious falafel sandwich for a reasonable price. The falafel is as good if not better than Lebanese Taverna and miles above the falafel at Cava. The owner is a nice guy and service has always been fast and friendly. It is well worth the walk as it is the best falafel in Frederick County.

Absolutely wonderful! And such friendly service! Where to start, the selection of interesting homemade teas in glass jars were interesting and unique! I had the eggplant and hummus sandwich on pita! They cook it up for you on warm pita and it doesn’t end there! Then you take it down the line ‘Subway’ style and stuff it more! Like with chick peas or spicy sauce or cilantro etc! So freakin’ good! My friend got the egg and feta pita sandwich which he loved! I can’t say how happy I am to have an Egyptian eatery here in town! :)

Nice place for a light lunch. Lots of choices for toppings. Options are either salad or sandwich so its really simple if you have a hard time making choices.

Great spot for healthy ethnic food. Best Egyptian home cooked dish-and def house made coconut lemon beverages are so perfect and delicious too! Sam the owner is great, check it out when in Frederick looking for quick bite.

I really wish I could give this place more stars, but it’s a mixed bag. The falafel itself is moist, not greasy and made to order. The iced tea(unsweetened) was super delicious, strong but not even a little bitter(I wish I could make it like that at home.) However, it loses stars because it seems the one guy who was there is over his head, and not a good multitasker. Food took a long time. They might consider allowing customers to top their own sandwiches with as much or as little of the various toppings as you like(like Amsterdam Falafel in DC) which would speed up the process. Also the fries are abominable. Mushy coated fries on par with Ore-Ida. But if you stick to the falafel and iced tea, and don’t mind waiting and then snagging a stool at the counter, you can have a tasty meal.

I was disappointed in this place for the following reasons: 1) Hummus was not served on the sandwiches, 2) the veggies for the falafel appeared as if they were not fresh and had been sitting out all day long, and 3) the french fries were nasty and cheap as well(I would have preferred or expected fresh fried potato wedges. This is not the what I expected it to me, I have had better…

Well. funniest thing is that we went here and did not have the hummus. First off, the place is small(or I guess the proper term now is quaint). There are maybe 8 or 10 total seats, most of which are at the front windows, counter style. Temp inside is a little warm for my wife, and that may be an issue later in the summer. But that is about it for what people may consider negative. The place is clean and the staff(which I believe was the owner) was friendly as can be. The menu is small, and before anyone asks there is no meat. This is a veggie place. I had the greek salad with falafel. I think more could be done with the olives rather than a handful of pitted black olives, but the lettuce had nice fresh crunch, the pepperoncini were much better than your typical Olive Garden crap, and the feta was freaking awesome. Seriously, this was not typical run of the mill dry stinky feta that you see many places. This was good stuff. Salad was dressed well and really refreshing. The falafel was crispy and not oily. The wife had the egg and feta sandwich. She is not one for a lot of extras but she loved the sandwich. For a quick light meal that is under $ 12 per person, this is a great addition to the downtown Market St. area. It does not require an hour+ to eat, it is not pretentious, and is super close to Carroll Creek on Market Street. Check them out and enjoy. We did

Everything was great. The falafel pita sandwich was fantastic, and my girlfriend loved the eggplant and hummus pita sandwich. Everything was made fresh and the pitas were stuffed well with fillings and, crucially, the garlic and tahini sauces were distributed evenly throughout the sandwich. If you’re a meat lover like myself, don’t let the vegetarian menu throw you off. The food was delicious. I also highly recommend the coconut lemonade juice they have. Looking forward to going back.

So it’s a nice beautiful day, upon walking in the restaurant from down the street, the aroma coming from the restaurant was indescribable. It smelled so good & even better as we walked in. As we walked in the owner asked if we had been in & explained to us everything on the menu and the different combos and choices. Boy I was excited! He was so super nice and friendly ! I watched him walk around and check on the customers already here. You can’t get much friendly service like this ! I ordered the falafel sandwich and so did hubby. We also got the lemon coconut water to drink which was OHMYGAHH good ! Biting into my — it was HEAVEN ! I’ve never had falafel before & omg have I been living under a rock ?! This sandwich was so good. I literally savored EVERY. SINGLE. BITE. I couldn’t stop saying OMG this is so good !! lol Hubby is far from being a healthy eater and he enjoyed it MORE than me ! Totally coming back for excellent food & spectacular customer service !!

First visit today and it was delicious! Fantastic service by Sam and a really tasty Falafel Sandwich. The Pita tasted authentic– slightly charred and crunchy and the fillings were fresh & flavorful. I can’t believe I waited this long to visit!

Why does this place have good reviews??? Came here for lunch and its a small place with very little seating but that’s fine. It had a really strange smell which added to the negative experience. The menu isn’t huge which is ok but the selection of topping was beyond disappointing. Everything looked like it was sitting out for days and not fresh and the toppings were just regular vegetables when many other place have seasoned toppings. This place is all about falafel and it was yet again disappointing. Usually falafel is crispy but these were mushy and a very wrong consistency. Definitely one of the worst medeterian places I’ve eaten at.

This place popped up right around the corner from me a couple weeks ago and I decided to give it a shot. I’m glad I did! I ordered the falafel sandwich with a side of sweet potato fries and a drink. Sometimes when you get a falafel sandwich, you can tell its been over fried or microwaved into a hard burnt crisp, but that’s not a problem here. All the sandwiches are made to order, and the result is a moist, and delicious falafel with tons of flavor and just the perfect amount of crisp. I got my sandwich«all the way» with their Caesar dressing, egg plant, black olives and peppers. It was absolutely delicious! If your looking for a good healthy alternative to the pizza and burgers in the area this is your place. The only reason they didn’t get 5 stars is because there’s limited inside seating which makes it difficult to go with a group and the bath room is a little weird in that its behind the register. Otherwise, the food here is delicious and I hope they stay around for awhile.
