Excellent food in a happy lively environment. The migas con chorizo was great and quick. The service was rapid, friendly and recurrent. Everyone working there seemed to be very happy to be there. Will go again.

Food is great the dining room is very nice. But it’s too expensive for a working mans lunch. Meal and tea needs to be under 10 bucks.

Best beef enchiladas I have ever had. Great hot sauce and quick service. Highly recommend.

First mistake: walking in the door thinking Fredericksburg had Mexican food anywhere close to Austin’s caliber. Second mistake: staying after seeing that the salsa was the color of bile and served in a squirt tube bottle. The chips themselves were good though. Third mistake: My wife asking for a chicken fajita taco, then being told by the waitress that the chicken fajita burrito was basically the same thing. In disbelief, deciding to order the fish tacos instead. Fourth mistake: 15 minutes after receiving our drinks, the server tells us that she has to charge full price for my daughter’s lemonade because they don’t have a kid’s lemonade.(She said she’d fix that on the ticket but it still was nearly $ 3 for a «flavored water» on the check). Fifth mistake: Staying after my wife’s fish tacos came, and the smell emanating from the plate was enough to make me hurl. Naturally, my wife lost her appetite, and poked the«mystery» pinkish squishy meat with a fork, asked«what is this?», the server responding«I don’t know! Tilapia I think.» We sent it back right then and she just asked for more chips. I will say that my shrimp quesadilla and my daughter’s nachos were decent enough. Not great. Edible. Maybe 2⁄5. But. Sixth mistake: Not knowing what to say when the server returned later saying that they had all been talking about her in the kitchen, and asked my wife if she was expecting.(!!) Hm, nope. How considerate of you though. I had no idea how to react so I finished my food, paid and got the heck out of there. As we were driving home, we saw a Mamacita’s. Shoulda gone there.

These folks get 5 stars alone just because of the enthusiasm to customize all food items. Mex Coke here helps with the rating also. Chile relinois good. Nice tortillas. I would return.

Some of the worst Mexican food that I’ve ever eaten in my life. The cheese enchiladas are horrible.

First of all, Hilda’s makes the best migas plate in Texas and on planet Earth. I ask for it extra crispy, and they always oblige me. Can’t stand no soggy migas! What makes it so sublime is to squirt some of Hilda’s incomparable brown salsa on it. And they serve you a large portion, too, along with great refried beans and potatoes, and of course delicious fresh tortillas. For a smaller breakfast, I love her bean and cheese burrito, which I fill with chopped up fresh onions and jalapeños, then slather on some brown salsa. For lunch I like the chile relleno plate and the cheese enchilladas, again topped with onions and jalapeños. These four are so delicious that I never order anything else.

We went to a swap meet in Fredericksburg and stopped by Hilda’s. Their chips and salsa were good — tasty salsa but could be a little thicker. Food was good. Little treasure find.

Not Awful food, pricing is a good bit outside reasonable. 15 $ for a quesadilla. on a plate with sour cream very much strait from a tube and a small serving of boxed guacamole. Not bad, but nothing remotely different than anything you can find at 90% of tex-mex restaurants for a little bit more money.

I had thought«torta» = sandwich would be a small dish, and then I got more than I could manage. So, no dessert.

Nice little local taco shop off the beaten path. When we were in town for a film festival, my cowriter and I were directed by the staff to go here because it’s where the locals go. Good call!

Not as good as the reviews we heard. Poor service. Got order wrong twice. Made me feel like it was my fault. I don’t usually write reviews but this place has fair food and even worse service. Disappointed.

We randomly came across this place while taking a backroad and we’re very happy we did. Lets start with the portion sizes. So. Much. Food! In a good, glutonous way. :) saved some for the next day. I had the migas with sausage and my husband had the migas with bacon. They come with refried beans and potatoes. Very tasty! Not the best migas i’ve had. But definitely tasty & a little spicy!(Which i loved) The potatoes were crispy on the outside but soft and warm on the inside. I also had a side pancake(again, wasnt expecting the huge portion) and the pancake was like a fluffy cloud! :) pancake came with a side of meat. I chose bacon and it was yummy. The coffee was good. I was happy! The reason i gave 4 and not 5 stars was bc i asked for a glass of water and the water tasted funny. Lol. Like if it was well water or something not sure. Anyway, otherwise this place waa awesome and i would definitely come back here again and would definitely reccommend.

This place is fine, but you can do better in the Hill Country. The horchata was overly sweet. I thought the potato burrito would be a hidden gem, but it was as bland as it sounds. The tortillas, naturally, were pretty amazing.

Hilda’s is hands down the best/most authentic Mexican food in Fredericksburg with the best prices! If you’re going cheap, grab a bean and cheese taco. Any person that grew up and went to high school in Fredericksburg will tell you, without a doubt, this was a weekly staple(I preferred mine with the brown hot sauce and a Dr Pepper). If you want something a little fancier, get a beef gordita. YUM! My favorite plate is the shrimp fajitas(shrimp are always good sized and fresh tasting) served with grilled onions, peppers, rice and beans. When you come here DONOT miss out on the beans, the horchata, the chips with brown sauce & queso, and most importantly — the FLAN! Hilda’s has come a long way from being just a little to-go shack with picnic tables outside to a nicer dining establishment with alcohol! So shout out to Hilda and her family for keeping up the quality and making locals happy for a long time :)

These guys put together a large take out order for an RV Rally that I organized. We had a great selection of their breakfast burritos, served with beans and fried potatoes and a selection of their house-made salsas. The order was ready to go when I got there and everything tasted freshly made. I give high marks to the burritos, which were quite filling. The beans and potatoes were«okay». Nothing memorable, nothing special. I would certainly order from them again in the future, especially for a large order like the one we had this time.

Ordinarily I’m a big fan of the Breakfast tacos/burritos here. Today, I went to lunch with a friend. Ordered the Shrimp tacos with rice and barracho beans. The shrimp tacos as listed on the menu is «pan fried» NOT. Thawed out, pre-cooked tiny little popcorn shrimp. Maybe«warmed» in the pan. Certainly on pan-fried. AND there was only about 2 tablespoons of shrimp per taco, if that much. Secondly, I got rice and refried beans. Asked for my barracho beans and got them. Waay too salty and I do like my salt. But even I couldn’t finish them. Overall NOT a good lunch for me. Most times the food is good, there’s plenty of it. Just don’t order the shrimp tacos at Hilda’s. You want great shrimp or fish tacos, go to Rosario’s in San Antonio.
