Wow, what a cute store(or two!) My hubby & I spent a Saturday wandering Fredericksburg and discovered this place. After going through both sides we left with a premade mix to make at home, some tea for my bro, and TONS of love and cuddles from the store dog, Gus. If you’re in search of tea, spices, old-timey candies, or unusual mixes, this is your place. The staff was stupendous. Now I know where to go when I can’t find something unusual in the spice aisle at the grocery store.

This place is awesome! So many spices and teas, I was in heaven. The man at the counter was very helpful and extremely polite. The prices are great for the quality you’re getting. I highly recommend this place and will definitely be back!

This is a great place, a wonderful variety of spices and teas. Very helpful and will to make blends to suite the needs of the client. They are animal friendly and have lovey fish and a dog that are often there. The owners of the shop often have a antique pots and tea items. Some of the tea are pleasant and new, like the Rocky Horror Black tea.

An incredible variety of fresh, loose leaf teas, and really awesome, knowledgeable people. Definitely recommend it.

The smell on arrival was scrumptious! This one of my favorite shops in Old Town! The staff was helpful and knowledgeable! Always a pleasure to stop in for a special ingredient or one of their wonderful teas!

I was greeted by a most adorable Chihuahua at the door, followed by the owner’s cheery hello. The shop has a great assortment of spices and teas, prepackaged in various sizes, weighed by ounce. While I would have liked to have been able to sniff the various teas, that was grossly overshadowed by the vast selection. Prices were very reasonable in this mom-and-pop shop and the owner was friendly, courteous, knowledgeable and helpful. Great experience. And I came home with marzipan flavored tea – can’t get that at the chain shops!

Honestly, I’m just incredibly disappointed with this place, especially the service and quality. On a day-trip to Fredericksburg, I popped into this shop, always on the hunt for tea and spices. The shop had a good selection of teas and spices, which is why I’m giving them two stars, but the girl behind the counter was clearly more invested in something on the computer, and begrudgingly answered a few questions I had about the merchandise. Honestly, it was like pulling teeth. Anyway, I came in for a well-balanced spicy chai, either a rooibos or a black masala. On the salesperson’s recommendation, I got a black tea called an Aussie Spicy Chai. Long story short: it was AWFUL! Watery, completely bland, and comparable to dirty dishwater. The stuff that comes in a bag tastes better. It’s always sad pouring money down the drain. Don’t shop here; try either Capital Teas in DC or The Spice and Tea Exchange in Annapolis.

We were very happy to find a great spice shop with competitive prices to patronize instead of wasting our money at the grocery store. Go here for quality spices and just put them into the leftover jars from that overpriced McCormack or Spice Island spice you USED to buy! I haven’t found a bad spice here, and they even have file powder. Yesterday I got a 4 oz bag of onion powder for $ 4.40, about the same price as 1⁄3 the amount of product at Giant. I highly doubt they’re actually PA Dutch; more like VA Hippie. But that’s okay as long as they keep the spice flowing.

What a gem! We were so pleased to stumble across PA Dutch Tea & Spice Company while day-tripping to Fredricksburg. As my husband and I both have avid tea-lovers in our families, we thought this might be a worthwhile stop to pick up some gifts. It certainly was. The gal working was helpful, patient, and kind. She showed us tea after tea after tea to try to fit the description of what our family members like. The tea, stored in cardboard boxes and pre-packaged in 2, 4, 6, or 8 oz bags, range from the everyday(and inexpensive) to the truly exotic(and huge splurges). But it has been a long time since I have seen such a selection of loose teas — certainly I haven’t found any place like it in DC. Thankfully they have ordering available through their website — . We also picked up some nibbles — chocolate covered cranberries for just a few dollars. Yum! After about an hour of perusing and smelling dozens and dozens of tea varieties, we made our purchases(roughly $ 45 for 7 bags of 2 or 4 oz teas) and said adieu. But hopefully we’ll have reason to visit again!
