I decided to stop by Big Lots for some dog food & school supplies. I’m next in line to checkout, while employee is arguing with older Spanish customer about the price of Tupperware. I watch in disbelief as manager lady comes out of nowhere very rudely stating, «It’s ten dollars not 4!» as she rolls her eyes. Employee at checkout curses & laughs as customer thanks her, puts down her items that she decided not to buy, and exits the store. Very rude staff and very unprofessional. I won’t be returning anytime soon.

My husband and I went to purchase a couch from big lots and were told if we financed it we would only pay 65% of the total cost if it was paid off before three months were up. We were planning on paying cash and do not normally finance anything. We asks numerous questions regarding this«deal» and were reassured over and over by the sales person that this was a legitimate deal and he sells these couches with this financing 4 – 5 times a day and never has a problem. Well… That was not true! The entire deal was false. Nothing was even remotely the truth. When speaking directly to the financing company I found out all the information given to me was wrong. When I spoke again to the sales person at big lots(David) he told me he was not trained properly on the leasing program and did not have the updated information. He apologized and was having multiple people come back and complain. I am a nice person, understanding of mistakes, I said so let’s cancel the lease and you guys give us the deal we were told and we will pay cash. Nope. Only gave us 25% off and my first payment to the leasing company I will never see again. $ 108. So basically we got 20% off. Big lots should have covered the cost of their untrained employees and falsified information. Total bullshit.

Totally rad for buying baby stuff, non perishables and last years holiday stuff. You know, the candles, tissue, deodorizer, etc, that you got at Target last October for $ 6 are here for $.50. Kinda makes you feel like a chump. My tip, shop Big Lots first, for holiday decorations, plastic tubs, cleaning products, yada yada, then go to Target, Walmart, K-mart to fill in the rest of your list. You will literally find yourself laughing at your choice bargains as you cruise the aisles.

Just love this store. Discovered it years ago when it was called Mc Frugals. Then it was called Pic n Save. Recently remodeled and now there’s lots of room and the place is organized and clean. The staff is friendly and helpful. Lots of the merchandise is regular stock but always new items so you have to go often to see what goodies you may find. Great place for teachers and parents.

Not much effort in keeping the shelves stocked and the store clean. Prices aren’t as good as dollar tree. Go there first!

I am such a freak for Big Lots. It’s pretty hit or miss, though. You can find really nice home furnishing, deco and organizing supplies for cheap. I also like the cleaning supplies section(I’m a clean freak!) and love stalking the hair care section. Sometimes there are really good deals on salon quality brands. I’ve also bought lots of pajamas here(flannel cheetah print for 7 bucks). It’s kind of dirty and there are boxes blocking the isles sometimes, which doesn’t seem very safe. The staff isn’t very friendly or helpful, but the merchandise and prices are decent.

OMG! genna! My new favorite store! I moved into a place and needed accesories for my pad, i had been to target and other stores and was already envisioning the high cost… my mom loves BIGLOTS so i walked in, and low and behold for the first time ever my mom was RIGHT! I have found everything i need here for a cheaper price I couldnt give it 5 stars cause its a smaller store than other ones and i will have to drive to the salinas store for bigger items like a futon i wanted. Other than that very satisfied

It’s a fun store to shop. They have a variety of items from Toys to Food. Stuff is cheap since a lot(if not all) of their items are close out. A bit disorganized at times. You can’t walk through some isles because of boxes. Service is good. I like coming here at least once a month.

Like Forrest Gump’s Momma always said, «Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re going to get,» this is EXACTLY what shopping at Big Lot’s is like. Say what you will about cheap stuff being cheap stuff, Big Lot’s is a PARADISE for overstocks & close outs. The Freedom store is typical and sells a huge variety of toys, housewares, clothing, cosmetics, small electrics, and foodstuffs. I found a Dyson(YES, DYSON) vacuum cleaner, albeit reconditioned but still with it’s full warranty, for $ 299. I kick myself now for not snatching it up. I’ve also seen the Oneida, Lennox and Mikasa brands here as well as Revere and Anchor Hocking. You really do have to go through a lot of junk, but the bargains are amazing when you find them. Note: one exception, DONOT buy any of the wine, even at $ 2 a bottle, it’s DISGUSTING! During the holidays this is THEPLACE to get Christmas cards, tree ornaments and decorations for your house. Yes, this is the same stuff being sold at Wal Mart, Target and Kohl’s only at a much lower price. Right now the Freedom store is chock full with 3 different holidays: Valentine’s Day(cards, boxes of Whitman’s & Russell Stover chocolates, party decorations, etc.), St Patrick’s Day(cards, shamrock costume jewelry, party paper products, etc.), AND Easter(cards, Easter baskets, basket grass, plastic eggs for your Easter hunt, yard & garden ornaments, etc.) The food bargains are well worth a visit also. My only word of caution is to make sure you look at the expiration dates of everything you buy. Last year for my holiday baking for example, I found 16oz bags of macadamia nut pieces for $ 1.50, 12oz bags of Nestle Tollhouse semi-sweet chocolate chips for $.99, and $.99 cans of sweetened condensed milk($ 2.39 in the regular grocery store) and I bought everything they had. SWEET! I always find something I never knew I needed when I shop at Big Lot’s! so don’t knock it until you’ve tried it.
