Had the day off from work, decided to ride my motorcycle down there for the afternoon, grab a bit and a few beers! I’ve been to the one in the city many times. It was nice, people friendly!

Ahoy Unilocalers! Last night my girlfriend and I headed down to Freeport for some seafood(as well as some drinks) and landed at Jeremy’s Ale House. Well, I kind of knew we would go here as I had been to Jeremy’s one other time and found it slightly superior to other restaurants along the Nautical Mile. Though I’ll say this, if you’re looking for a high class/fancy seafood experience, Jeremy’s is not the choice you might want to make. But if you’re looking for casual atmosphere and a great meal, then this is the place to be. It feels a little like a dimly lit house as you walk down the ramp to enter Jeremy’s. There are tables scattered in the main dining area and a tiny bar to your right along with where you order your grub. There are also two spots(to the left and straight back) where you can grab a table and eat outdoors. We chose the back area by the water and went over the menu before heading back in to take care of business. Okay, so there were only two of us and we definitely over ordered, but that’s my fault(I had skipped lunch yesterday). What I will say is everything we ordered hit the proverbial spot. We went with two fried seafood platters(one of clam strips, calamari, and fish, and the other clam strips, scallops, and shrimp) which came with fries and slaw, then ordered fried pickles, and a bowl of New England clam chowder… I told you we over ordered! Each seafood item was tender and well-breaded(especially the shrimp and scallops). What’s great is taking a giant bottle of tarter sauce out of the little fridge inside and squirting it all over your tasty ocean treasures(as that’s what we did). The fried pickles were large coin shapes and rich in flavor especially when paired with the creamy ranch dressing that was accompanied. The chowder wasn’t as creamy as I thought it would be, but packed a nice punch of potato and clam to round out this meal(which we didn’t entirely finish). Oh, I almost forgot that my girlfriend washed it all down with a Great South Bay Breeze and I did via a Jeremy’s Ale(when you’re there you might as well) which went perfectly with the dinner. Overall, unless I’m looking for more upscale ambiance, Jeremy’s is a place I will continue to choose over most other options along Woodcleft Avenue.

My boyfriend and I decided to come see his friend in Freeport to relax and dine for some good. The services here are very quick and food came within 15 – 20 minutes. I do not have any complains at all. My calamari and buffalo wings were very tasty and scrumptious. As much as I love being in the city eating in rooftop spots, this place has a therapeutic relief just being next to the water.

I really liked Jeremy’s. I’m a no frills kind of guy. The beer and food were cheap. The menu was extensive and excellent. Apparently there is stuff hanging from the ceiling but I must have been in the Miller zone because I didn’t notice it. On the seated side there isn’t anything, I know, I looked up. We sat outside on the water and watch the boats go by. Fine for children. It’s a great place to go with your buddies and enjoy each other’s company. Highly recommend.

After reading many good reviews I decided the next time in Freeport we would go. The décor is accurately described, but I was disappointed in the food. No great flavor just fried food. I did get fresh, it just was lackluster. Not going back. Had to ask for everything salt, pepper, catsup, tarter sauce, get the picture!

I came here after quickly checking Unilocal when I came to the mile to see where to eat. I’ve eaten at Braccos and was not impressed at all with food, service and prices. I didn’t read reviews, but came here to eat based on the stars. Walk in and the place is a dump. Pretty sure the restaurant isn’t level it leans to the left. It’s a seat yourself and order your food at the bar kinda place. After looking over the menu I was thinking damn these prices are cheap. You can get a fried combo of 3 seafood choices for around $ 13 that comes with fries and coleslaw. Crab cakes for $ 10 that comes with 4(on the smaller side crab cakes) fries and coleslaw. I’m pretty sure almost everything was under $ 20. Food took maybe 5 – 10 mins to come out. The fried zucchini sticks to start were yummy, but so freakin hot beware. And don’t bother with the marinara sauce it’s awful, tastes like ragu. I tried the fried shrimp, scallops, calamari and crab cakes. The shrimp, calamari and especially the scallops were excellent! Scallops were so tender, shrimp were big and fresh and the calamari was good too. All were well seasoned, the scallops and shrimp tasted like they were beer battered. *Skip the crab cakes* thumbs down. They have a small refrigerator with condiments that you can get up and get yourself.(Hot sauce, ketchup, tartar sauce, cocktail sauce etc.) they have utensils, plates, napkins, all paper and plastic that you can take to your table for your meal. There are also large trash cans so you can throw out everything. Literally this place you do everything except cook your own food haha. By no means is this place clean, or a nice sit down restaurant. It’s super cheap, tasty and fresh seafood with some interesting clientele who dines here. Choose who your bring here wisely, but I’ll be returning. Cheap and good just the way I like it.

The pinnacle of dive bars on the sea. I always go on tuesdays for the half pound shrimp special. Also the mixed drink prices are really reasonable. The styrofoam cups are a novelty but very cute

I love this place. You are not coming here for the ambiance, but the food is great. I love the paper plate and paper towel standard in this joint. Just got back from a visit that included super cold beers on the outdoor deck. For lunch is was the fried combo for me and the grilled combo for the hubby. My fried choice(yes you get to pick your 3 items) were the cajun shrimp(so good and spicy), the scallops(perfectly cooked), and the calamari(which has the most amazing batter) all on top of fries. Sure, not the healthiest of meals, but don’t judge. My husband got the grilled counterpart which came with a small salad on the side. He got the shrimp, scallops and calamari. All seasoned and cooked perfectly. Oh did I mention I got the fried corn on the cob? I think it was good, but if corn was in season it would have been great. They also have a good selection for the kids. Such a nice lunch time spent. If you are looking for a fancy destination for a romantic evening, this is not your place. You have to order at the bar, then grab your own condiments in the fridge in the dining room, but if you are looking for fresh seafood and a place to kick back and enjoy your lunch with some beers outside, this is definitely the place to be.

I hesitate to recommend this place, because it is one of my top 10 places to go, and I don’t want the hipsters to discover it and ruin it. There is no better spot to sit on a sunny afternoon and people watch on the mile. The beer is always cold, and the bartenders and servers are all very friendly. This is a dive bar, with dive bar prices and a pretty gross bathroom. But, the food is amazing! The grilled shrimp are seasoned just right and served with a nice fresh salad, and the beer batter shrimp are fluffy and crispy The burgers are huge, and I like the Jeremy Burger(almost a Ranger Burger) The onion rings are sweet and crispy and the Mac n Cheese bites are a guilty pleasure. The wings are by far the best I’ve ever had, just the right size and crispy skin. The corn, when in season is delish. This is a good place for friends to gather and have a relaxing night. So stay away hipsters, you won’t like it here. There is no foo foo drink menu.

Amazing Drive-In bar/restaurant. The food was fresh and amazing. Came here during off season in March. Yet, this place was still very popular. Freeport is a street full of restaurants and bars by the water. It’s a different felling from City Island, It’s more like you’ve one down south. I had the Jeremy’s fried combo. I picked the fried calamari, oysters, and Cajun shrimp. It was straight out of the kitchen. Hot, crunchy, and juicy. I love the Cajun spice for the shrimp, and the oysters were crunchy on the outside, super juicy inside. Highly recommend, I will definitely come back during the summer.

It was the best of times it was the worst of times… nah just kidding. At Jeremy’s make sure and get a menu and place your order as soon as you enter. My visit was during lunch(time) on a warm winter’s day(oxymoron this is not because it was as warm as a woman’s first hot flash on 22nd Feb. 2016). While perusing Nautical Mile for somewhere to grab a bite we steered our boat into this bay. As you walk into Jeremy’s it lends an air of «fishing village». It’s almost as if you’re on a beach awaiting the seine to be pulled in for the fisherman/chef to grill his fresh catch right there on in front of you. The food tasted just as nice as I expected even though I got all fried everything; Calamari, shrimp and clam strips. The shrimp taco(my first) I started with was very tasty, they made a fan out of me. Great suggestion barman! The barman, lone member of staff I interacted with was pleasant, patient and helpful. If you prefer sparkling clean tables turn away, this isn’t the spot for you. If you need host and waitress service, no no no no way! Not here. VERY reasonably priced, good food, pleasant staff and patrons, nice 80s music from a radio station playing softly in the background, ocean view, cold beers you like that huh? Then come thru’! I absolutely adore this spot! But then when you say dive, I ask how deep? There’s something about dive spots I mesh with so well. I love the realness. This may come across as defensive and yes I will defend my rating of a great spot(5 star or not in your book). I ask you, can a KFC get a 5 star rate? Most definitely, it may not be a 5 star restaurant but if your experience was such kindly rate accordingly. 5 stars Jeremy’s Ale House. 5 stars! Recommend. The End.

Love this place. So easy going and laid back. We come here year round and literally nothing changes. The food is always fresh and the environment is always friendly. This is not a fancy spot so feel free to come as you are. You won’t be disappointed.

I’m upping my rating of Jeremy’s, because last time I had a decent time. They don’t have Batch 19 anymore, just your usual«craft beers» like Blue Moon. The food prices are very reasonable. They still have a gross wet bar and I’m sure the bathroom is still a holy terror. But what I like about Jeremy’s is that the staff really seem to appreciate their regulars, and are super nice to newbies like me. I also witnessed one of the bartenders race out the door like the Flash to catch some deadbeats who skipped out on their tab. If you can’t pay $ 20 for a couple beers and some food, I’m judging you.

I always love this place when in the mood for casual but fresh seafood but my last visit was a horror. My girlfriend & I went for dinner on an Beautiful August Monday night 8÷24÷15. We hung around after dinner & enjoyed some cocktails & some guys engaged us in conversation. Well… While we were talking with them… Their friends robbed both my friend’s & my pocketbooks. They thankfully didn’t take our credit cards but they did take all our cash & new iPhones. Beware of some of the clientele in this area!!!

Came here with friends. This place is a chill spot. You have to order your own food and drinks at bar. Then they bring you the food. Very casual place. Their food was good. The calamari was not chewy at all and the fish, shrimp and chips are good and fresh. They have daily specials on the menu. We all enjoyed the food and the service. Definitely looking forward to coming back.

Stopped in here after drinking at Hudson’s on a Sunday afternoon because my friends wanted some food and they said it was cheap here, which it was. I got a chicken sandwich and fries all for under $ 9. However, we’re pretty sure they forgot to put our order in because it took forever for the food to come out. People who ordered after us were served before us. The place was really divey and they had girls’ bras nailed to the ceiling by the bar; didn’t seem to clean to the eye. The food was good, and so were the drinks, but the service could have been a little better.

Did we make a huge mistake last night? Headed to Freeport after biking on the boardwalk in Long Beach only to find that it was the end of the Nautical Mile Festival. I was so inclined to turn around and. Go home but Lisa E was set on returning to Jeremy’s for grilled calamari. Jeremy’s is truly a dive,…not fresh(the canal smells infinitely better), certainly not immaculate, kinda grungy but of all the places on the Mile this is our go to. Grab a table out back where the air is fresher and the atmosphere is laid back(see pictures) Draft by the quart $ 6– $ 9, tender grilled tentacles and amazing chicharonn– crispy cubes of pork candy(not on the printed menu). Lobster roll ehhh– too processed but edible at $ 8. Table next to us wee having an all fried fest– calamari, soft shell crabs and fish and devoured everything. Casual conversations started easily(maybe the brews), Triple Crown History cheered by all, decent cheap meal on a beautiful late spring evening.

Exceeded my expectations !! Very friendly and helpful staff. Reasonably priced, fresh seafood and burgers etc. not a horrible beer selection but could be better. Coors light, Mich. Ultra are not choices that I expect to see on an Ale House list, but hey, whatever floats your boat. Lee has a Blue Moon IPA which was good. Never saw that before. Grilled Calamari legs were awesome… a whole boat of just little tenticles(I had to auto correct that one… yikes !!), grilled scallops were perfectly grilled, sweet. But the Chicarones stole the show.7.95 for a basket and we took half home. Piping hot and meaty, this was my first time and I will return again for more. I would skip the soup… a bit salty for my liking and a few too many potatoes. But without a doubt, a dive– gem. They take credit cards and you can get your beer, in a solo cup for 16 oz. or a 32 oz. styrofoam cup…

To me an «Ale House» has to have at the very least a decent selection of Craft beer. Bud is mostly served here.(Not acceptable). I did manage to find a crappy IPA in a bottle, but the beer tasted a bit stale(and flat) despite being very cold. The food(while I didn’t expect much) was pretty much straight up over-fried previously frozen seafood(in the middle of the Summer!). Definitely do not think I’ll be visiting this Ale House again.
