Poor representation of a Cantonese dim sum restaurant. Noodles are thick and food serve luke warm.

This place has cheap dim sum compared to the other dim sum places in this area. But overall, I hate coming to this place because everywhere is dirty and sticky. Really disgusted me.

Great value for money — 7 of us ate lunch to our heart’s content for $ 100. Food was varied — like a buffet to your table — and they came around frequently with various dishes. Lots of pork, I did like the pork buns, but I wanted some chicken and by the time it came around I was pretty much full. The duck dish didn’t come out until we were paying the check. You can request a dish and they will get it for you(if other diners don’t catch it before it reaches you!). Overall nice food — not the worst and not the best. The servers were friendly.

I use to love this place. The staff was friendly, the food was delicious and the price was cheap. Today was not the case for 2 out of 3. We got 4 different shrimp dumplings and 3 of them had bad shrimp. It stank and tasted like bitter mush. It was so gross and since we ate 1 prior to realizing this, we are now both on the toilet. Couldn’t eat much after, just grossed out. I think it is the hot day that made food a little harder to store but that shouldn’t be an excuse. Anyway, won’t be back here anymore. Prices have gone up recently too…

Not bad. Came here with the family on a Thursday for lunch /dim sum. The service was pretty fast, especially because our party had over ten people there, but the quality left more to be desired. Snippets of dishes we go: shrimp rice noodle rolls, siu mai, crab noodles, chicken feet, shrimp dumplings, jelly fish(though they flavored it with wasabi?) and beef, bok choy clam soup, fish pieces with mushrooms. I never know to translate Chinese dishes into English, but honestly, the entire dish was pretty holistically unmemorable. Okay, not amazing, but fine. tldr; another typical Chinese restaurant, not particularly stand out

Come here for breakfast, you won’t be disappointed. Dim sum is fresh and they have a huge variety. For dinner I would suggest you try the ox tail stew. If you come with a large group try the whole fish(steamed with ginger and a salty sauce) staff is friendly and attentive.

I went here for lunch, my father and I was craving for sum Dim Sum, one of the places he wanted to go to was closed so we opted for this place. When you first walk in there a huge sign on the door stating«Probation» on their health score which was very scary. As you walk in. the place doesn’t look so appealing there is just clutter everywhere, which made me even more nervous. As we sat down the menu was presented to us with all the dim sum options(you have to order it unlike other places where carts troll along). We had a numerous items to eat the Shu Mai, shrimp dumplings, egg tart, chinese broccoli, along with other items. We also ordered hot tea(Do Not Order). I was so upset when the brought the hot tea pot and when I looked inside, it was just a lipton tea bag –_– seriously… most places have loose green tea, barley tea or jasmine tea. So $ 5 for a lipton tea bag double –_– Now to the food, food was average, nothing special, definitely had better dim sum places. Nothing really to go in to detail with because it was OK. Mehhh

This was my second time coming here, so I figured it would be good to write a review. In summary, both times I had a disappointing dim sum experience. The food is simply not good. The turnip cake was poor quality, somewhat gelatinous, with no chunks of flavorful turnips. There was also too much salt, and no additional flavor. The ribs were just OK, but not horrible. Same goes for the BBQ pork chang fen. The xiao long bao were mostly dry(3 out of 5) and stuck to the foil. The ones that had soup in them, the soup wasn’t very flavorful.

I’ve wanted to try this place so many times, and my friend finally called me randomly and invited me to go. I couldn’t wait! I was surprisingly satisfied(only because I an such an avid fan of BKs off stevenson)!! Had the steamed bean curd(BKs is better), but it was still good. Little bland. Also tried the xiao long bao. It was pretty darn tasty. A nice chunk of meat and labor full brothy filling. Yummm! Their chinese broccoli was delicious too. Not hard to ruin that, but still gotta mention it. One thing I did like about this place is they had the oyster sauce on the side. Comparing to BKs, I thought that this way was better. The steamed pork buns were alright, but nothing to write home about. The meat seemed a tad dry inside. The potstickers were some of the best fried potstickers I’ve had. A delicious filling. Definitely a must try if you get here. If you’re ever on this side of town, stop in and try it out!

Horrific service. It seems as though if you are not a Chinese native or unable to speak the language, your dining experience will consist of constantly trying to draw the attention of servers and sadly be ignored the entire time. You will also forever wait for the food items you ordered. I understand lunch rushes are hectic and you’re constantly running and shuffling around to make sure the food gets out and what not, but if you see customers waving their hands every time you approach the room, I would hope that the employees acknowledge that they need assistance. Probably won’t be back here but hey, on a lighter note, the shrimp dumplings were tasty.

Lukewarm dimsum and lots of msg make this place mediocre at best for me. Dim sum should be fresh and hot not old looking and warm. Had a huge headache afterwards from msg dehydration. If you are in the bay drive a little further into Milpitas or even san jose for much better and fresher choices than this place. Hard to believe this place is so busy but it is. Must be the location.

food was average, food was cheap for the price, but the service was below average. Long ass wait during lunch and I had arrived before lunch rush. Also when I wanted to order dim sum from the carts, they spoke chinese to me.(I dont speak chinese, but get mistaken because i look chinese alot) One of the issues are they loves to push food on the table and had to say I didnt want it. A lot of the dim sum are medium size and cost only 1.99. I also brought chow mein and porriage which were their lunch special for 13.99 and were giant portions. So had lots of left overs. It took awhile to even get containers and then another 15 mins to even get the check. Shui mai is rather generic, just a meat ball with eggwrapper. At least they were on the bigger size and not super tiny.(like 1 ½inches wide) I did like their fried pork bun, it wasn’t filled, but enough to to be tasteful. The fried pork bun has the same casing as sesame balls.(Which I love) The sesame balls themselves were crispy maybe on the hard side(not crispy) as if they were sitting under the heat lamp. The filling was mung bean. I prefer red bean, but this was fine. The chow mein and porriage were on the bland side, but nothing that soy sauce couldn’t fix. So left over were easily eaten. The beef chow mein wasn’t super oily just bland and had little meat. Porriage. I can’t say much. I never has Chinese porriage only Filipino porriage which tend to be on the salty side. The porriage itseld was pretty bland, so I added lots of soy sauce. It was a white color but added enough soy sauce to change the color to light tan. I wouldn’t really come back.

The quality of their dim sum here is mediocre at best and service is slow. It doesn’t really help if you speak Chinese. But I guess you can’t complain much when your party of three is full off $ 28. Cheap food, but don’t come here with high expectations! That’s all I’ve got to say.

yuck. Oily/dirty looking setting. unpresentable/oily, dirty looking food. why did I bookmark this place to try??? Now, the service and our rotating waitress were very nice and kind. I tipped them well. :) I was actually surprised at how nice they were, considering the below average food and atmosphere. I wanted to give this place a try due it’s «all day dim sum» offerings.(who doesn’t love dimsum for dinner?) But the food was bland, oily, poorly cooked and I question the freshness of the ingredients(pork & shrimp). Maybe the price is considered to be cheap or more-affordable to Asian elders, as there were many asian elders in the restaurant during the time I went.(which also made me feel like I was at a Senior Center) Conclusion: will not come back.

I always drive by this place and have always wanted to try this place. I came here with a group of five(including myself) for a late lunch on a Saturday afternoon. Since we came super late, there was no wait and there were almost no one in the restaurant. Since I came with my friend’s family, they wanted to try the fried/steamed fish hot pot. I am not sure what it’s called, but it’s basically two fried fish that was steamed in a large pot with veggies and seafood. We also got some dim sums, like shrimp dumplings, sticky rice wrapped in lotus leaf, and fried shrimp balls. We also got the lobster noodles. All were very typical Chinese dim sum dishes. The food was good and I enjoyed them quite a bit. The fried/steam fish dish was interesting and decent. I wish it was more flavorful though. It was good, but it was kind of bland. I did like all the veggies that soaked up the flavors of the fish and soup though. I did enjoy the food here. Overall, the food was good and the price was reasonable(being around $ 80 for hot pot dish, lobster noodles, and several dim sum dishes). I will probably be back!

My mother’s a waitress at a Chinese restaurant, and I’ve been going to Chinese restaurants all of my life so I’m pretty used to the service that you get. These are fairly old, Chinese women that are working minimum wage jobs to support their kids. Cut them some slack. Look, you don’t go to a Chinese restaurant for good service. A French restaurant, maybe, but definitely not a Chinese restaurant. Don’t hold these types of restaurants to the same kind of standard when it comes to service. Anyways. SERVICE: The service here is actually better than most of the dim sum restaurants I’ve been to.((Have you been to the dim sum restaurants in Chinatown? Yikes.) The servers are pretty apologetic when things don’t come out right and are quick to bring us things when we ask for them. Only thing is they can be kind of pushy.(e.g. «I’d like one plate of ha cherng.» «No, no, one not enough, take two.» «One is fine.» *Puts two on your table anyways*) FOOD: Yum! They make all of my favorite childhood dishes(in all of their oily goodness) and they’re comparable to the ones I’d order in Chinatown growing up. The best part is that they’re much cheaper than most of the places in our area(e.g. Mayflower or Asian Pearl). PARKING: If you’re here on the weekend, their parking lot can be a real mess. They get really, really crowded on Saturday and Sunday around lunch time and the parking lot just isn’t big enough to accommodate. Wait times are pretty reasonable here despite the crowd that can start to form.

My family comes here a lot and decided to take me when I went back home for the holidays. The dim sum definitely is good and the price is about average compared to the other restaurants. This restaurant is big and can accommodate larger parties and you’re seated immediately since they have two rooms and one bigger room in the back. Service was good and food just kept coming out. They also have specials where you can get congee and noodles for a decent price. I would definitely come here again.

Typical mediocre Chinese family style restaurant… Location wise: plenty of parking in the back Ambient wise: could tidy up the place a bit; cups, dishes, utensils were stained. Food wise: as tasty as it was, the chef could go easier on the MSG, pls. Price wise: economical; $ 80 fed 5 adults and 2 childrens. plus beer; too.

Out of my 288 reviews, there are only nine one-star establishments. Sadly for 101 °C Dim Sum and Dinner, you are number 10. My family and I were in Fremont for some family business this morning. Came lunchtime we were looking for a place to eat. It just so happened that we drove by 101 °C Dim Sum and Dinner. We saw the parking lot was quite full and took it as a sign of quality. Little did we know that it was a big mistake! The restaurant was pretty busy when we entered at around 11:45am. It took several minutes before we were seated at a table in the small dining area adjacent to the main dining room. As I looked around, the restaurant’s décor appeared to be a little outdated. The cleanliness was at an acceptable level. Here comes the bad parts: Strike One: For some strange reason, the restaurant thought rap music would make people order more food? I don’t know about you, but the last thing I want to listen to at a dim sum restaurant on a Sunday morning is Snoop Dogg’s «Gin and Juice»! It might be acceptable to some, but not yours truly. Strike Two: I have a shaved head, so I know the hair I saw on my plate did not belong to me! Strike Three: I found a bone in my siu mai! Strike Four(if there is such a thing): Most of the dim sum we ordered were cold. Fried taro dumplings, deep fried soft tofu, baked BBQ pork buns… all cold! Strike Five(this is getting ridiculous): I could totally tell the har gows(dim sum shrimp dumplings) were manufactured by a factory somewhere. The shape and size were all identical! Strike Six(the last one): This one has nothing to do with the establishment. But these three old pervs at the next table were ogling at women and young girls walking in and out of the restaurants(I overheard them talking in Cantonese). Also, their colorful Cantonese profanities were quite annoying. 101 °C Dim Sum and Dinner. Me think not! BONUSMATERIAL: — They charge $ 1 per person for tea. — Dim sum prices: S — $ 1.99, M — $ 2.99, L — $ 3.99, and Specials — $ 5.

After posting the preview review, the owner actually called and informed me that they had made a mistake on my order that charged me $ 50 more than expected. She let me know that they were entirely at fault and quickly offered to reimburse me. A few days later, the money was back into my account and no harm done. If anything, this place does have a owner that is willing to amicably resolve problems with its customers. It’s occurrences like these that make me want to come back!

It was my first time here today and let’s just say I won’t be back. It was chilly and only a table or two were occupied when I walked in with my family. There were some employees that seemed quite clueless in what they’re doing or at least unfamiliar, but that’s a minor issue that can be overlooked. Let’s move onto the food. They came by with a cart claiming they had steamed egg custard buns so we got an order of it. THEYWERENOTEGGCUSTARDBUNS. It was the salted egg yolk custard bun. A dim sum restaurant should know this difference. In addition, everything was very watery. I’ve never been to a dim sum place where the steamers that hold the food were so drenched in water. It was getting everywhere, including on the food. My plate was flooding. Lastly, when my sister was opening up a «lo mai gai»(that rice thing with meat wrapped in a lotus leaf) there was a huge bug in it. Let me repeat that, THEREWAS A HUGEBUGINHERFOOD. When we notified the employee, all they did was take her plate away and give us a new order of the«lo mai gai». The lady that took her plate away then came back and tried to convince us that it was not a bug but in fact part of the lotus leaf. Good thing we took a picture before notifying them. A different employee was telling another that it was no big deal and it was merely just a little ant. I know the size of an ant and that was not it. Needless to say, we left after that. **Please check your food before eating!**

I don’t know why this place only has 3 stars? From my personal opinion, it deserves more. So I give it a 4 star. We accidentally found this place when we were across the street looking for a children salon for our son. My bf was looking for a place where we can have lunch and he mentioned this and at first I was skeptic due to the name, i laughed. But again, you should never judge a book by it’s cover. It was nearing to their lunch time until they close for dinner. And I know not a lot of places serve dim sum in the middle of the day. We called and ask if they’re still serving, considering we were literally across the street from them, so it wouldn’t take us long to get there. We were sited right away, the waiters were friendly and accommodating. We placed our regular dim sum orders. I ordered their plain rice soup for our son and when Amy(I believe was her name) saw that it was meant for our son she gave us tips next time. She told us to place our orders through her so they’ll come fresh right out of the steamer, also she was very informative with different kind of dim sum and recommended other types. The following week, we came back here(2 Sundays in a row) brought my aunt and uncle to have a family lunch. They also liked the place, the price were reasonable and food was good. We all tried their green tea mochi with sesame filling, it was a hit to all of us. Too bad, they run out fast, so we now know to place our order ahead of time for to go. So with that said, we’d definitely come back here again for dim sum.

Reasonable prices, good food, friendly service. Since Uncle Chong’s was sold, this place has gone through quite a few owners. I must say the last time we came here, we were pleasantly surprised. All the dim sum we got came out piping hot! That’s always a good sign. I didn’t remember the dim sum carts going around the last time I was here, but was glad to see them this time because I was HUNGRY! All dim sum was pretty tasty. They have a special«set» offered at about $ 13 something where you can choose two items. We didn’t get that this time, but we got it last time and saw others who got it. Portions are huge! Service was pretty friendly. Always shocking at a dim sum place. They were efficient, and didn’t charge for tea for my son(I know it sounds silly, but some places actually have done that… like my 3-year-old would be drinking hot tea…). We’ll definitely be back!

3.5 stars. Most of the items were just OK, but there were a few dishes here that you typically can’t find at other dim sum places in the bay area. I like that there’s always carts or trays coming by so you’re not waiting around all the time. Everything is also insanely cheap! Unique dishes: 1. Clam Gigante — at least this is what my boyfriend’s sister calls it. It’s her favorite dish here, but I thought it was a tad off for me. The clam didn’t taste fresh enough. It’s basically chopped clam and silver noodles served in a giant clam shell. 2. Chinese donuts — make you you ask for hot ones. They’re not as good when they’re cold. Unlike an American donut, these almost have an eggy quality to it inside. 3. Beef tendon stew — if you love Taiwanese beef tendon noodles, this is the dish for you! Meat is super tender and flavorful. 4. Green tea buns with sesame filling — chewy and not too sweet. Other good stuff: 1. Chicken feet — large and juicy here if this is your jam 2. Shrimp roll — this is good anywhere but I love that the sauce here has more of a sweet tang to it. 3. Egg tart — not the best I’ve had but hits the spot! Just ok: 1. Su Mai — very large but nothing special 2. Tofu wrap — meh.

Oh gosh I was so distracted by the food arriving at the table I only took two photos. Whoops! I’ve been here a few times but my most recent visit was on a Monday at 1pm. We ordered the usual rice noodle rolls with shrimp and one with chicken and bitter melon. They also have a BBQ chicken or beef version, haven’t tried it yet. Mom really likes the chicken feet sauce, persuading her to request an additional order to go. The potstickers are pan fried, and as a result have a satisfying crunch from the bottom but still has a chewy shell. Last time, the chicken fried rice was soft, piping hot, and had plenty of sliced cabbage. This time around I could definitely tell the rice they used was from yesterday’s leftovers because it was somewhat hard. Still looked presentable though. Try the taro buns! They’re warm and not too sweet. We must have eaten a few dishes too quickly or just plain confused some of the waitresses after ordering two of the same dish but finishing one. They kept coming back with a third dish and we had to explain we already got two of the shrimp rice noodle rolls; we had finished one and the empty plate was underneath one of those dim sum containers. This happened twice during the same visit. I just wonder how communication works between the kitchen and wait staff. I hope they’re not wasting resources by cooking extra when it’s not needed. The staff is friendly, especially the manager and the younger lady that seated us.

This review is for the afternoon dim sum. I eat here with my mom whenever I’m in town because of the quality for its low price. However, after eating there today I won’t going back. We ordered a plate of lukewarm pan fried turnip cake that was apparently left out for an hour or two before we ordered it. My mom is more astute than I am and stopped eating her piece after the first bite because of the dried edges and sour taste indicating the initial stages of it going bad. It’s understandable to serve older product to be economically efficient, but its negligent when the restaurant fails to take ownership of poor quality food. We didn’t cancel the order to get our money back because we ate half of the plate already, but the wait staff was barely apologetic about the returned remaining plate. If you want to risk eating low quality dim sum for a good price, this is the place for you.

Dimsum Sundays has become a tradition. After a heavy night of drinking, my friends and I come here to cure our hangovers. It gets pretty packed, but the staff moves fast, so we are usually seated in less than 10 minutes. There are about 4 people who push around carts filled with dimsum. Be warned that each server has a different personality. Some servers are more quiet and reserved. If you want something from them, you may have to call out to them. Some servers much more pushy. They will ask you 3 times before accepting the fact that you just don’t want to eat what they’re trying to feed you. Nevertheless, service is good. They all speak Mandarin, Cantonese, and English, which makes it easy to communicate with them. Because they are quick, they aren’t the cleanest, so just ask them to wipe the table once more and/or ask for a new teacup. Now the food! I’m no dimsum connoisseur, but I’m always satisfied when I come here. Here is a dimsum guide for those who need it: Although I practically love everything, here are some of my favorites: –Siu Mai: Open top steamed shrimp dumplings –Har Gau: Steamed shrimp dumplings –Lo Mai Gai: Steamed rice wrapped in lotus leaf –Wu Gok: fried taro wrapped pork Dip all that in some soy sauce and hot sauce and get ready for some salty goodness. Then top the meal off with some Daan taat: egg custard tart. Prices are amazing here, which is probably why this place is so popular. We usually only end up spending $ 10 per person. I’ll probably be back real soon!
