It’s a nice coffee shop with food, I usually stop by once in a while. However today when I stopped by for breakfast, the food took way too long. I got my drink in a minute or 2, but I waited 20 minutes for my breakfast crêpe before I got impatient and checked with the staff. Turns out they missed the order because I ordered a drink along with the food? Sounds like they need a better ordering system. Other than that the staff were very friendly and apologetic for the delay.

The staff is friendly and the drinks are pretty good. I haven’t tried the food yet besides a bagel, so I can’t vouch for that, but they do have a variety of things to eat, including crepes! There’s a decent amount of seating and outlets, although I wish they had more. My only complaint is if they could do something about the bugs… Flies and mosquito tend to find their way inside.

Went again, and feel better about it… everything I said in my original review is still accurate, but they remodeled a little and the place feels fresher. Nice staff.

Such a cute place! I love the comfy couches and the food isn’t bad. A bit expensive, but not terribly.

I am in love with this place. I wish they were open later so I can spend more time in here. The food is great and the customer service is always the best. When they are not too packed they will bring your drink or food to you. I love that the drinks are served in glass mugs. The scene from this little coffee shop is nice, the wifi is a little weak but works, and there are many sockets to plug in you electronics. I highly recommend this place to anyone for a nice little coffee break or study session.

This is an excellent spot for studying and/or getting some work done. Its nice and and quiet enough to focus but not so quiet you get lost in your thoughts. The coffee is great! I love the vibe, look and feel to the place. The only reason why I’m giving 4 stars is because I personally don’t like the bathroom. Its dark and not as clean as I would hope. But other than the bathroom everything else is awesome!

Bland watery latte. Tasted like watered down coffee hastily mixed with milk. Good standing foam. The second cup they made was scalding hot and burned my tongue. Good customer service but never coming back. Lattes are terrible. Bad product can’t be made up by customer service.

Went here to study with my cousin and man… What a great café. I had an iced coffee with a lemon muffin. Both were delicious. The only thing that is preventing me on giving it five-stars is due to the wifi issues. Otherwise, it’s a great place to hang out over a hot cup of coffee.

Came here again with my craft Meetup. This café is one of the best in town. They are welcoming to a group of 6 and gave us NO pressure as we relaxed, hung out, and did crafts together. But they get 5 stars for me again. During this visit they had run out of lemons. Instead of saying«sorry, no more», one of the ladies actually ran to the grocery store and came back quickly to add lemon slices to my iced tea. Now that is what I call GOOD service! And a quick tip, for free wifi, select«Welcome to Bean Scene café», not«bean scene café». The welcome option worked best. Can’t wait to come here again!

Took a walk down memory lane by coming here to do work today. I never see Iced Cappaucio anywhere on menus before so I had to get it — & I loved it! no sugar added, no nothing. I like it just the way it is. I also had lox on bagel for lunch and it was super tasty. definitely rec to others. Downside is, there aren’t a lot of outlets around so always remember to grab the bar area(smacked right in the center of the room) or snatch a small 1 – 2 persons table if you know you’ll be staying here for long time. One thing I found odd was that the sweet cashier didn’t know what I was talking about when I referred to my check-in Unilocal deal. But she gave it to me anyways. Oh, and it’s cute how she called everyone«honey». — 1 for indescribable amount of flies wandering in there, I probably don’t want to imagine what summer would look like. I would give this a place a 3.5.

This place used to be Bay Street coffee with later hours and I would come here with my friends to study. Bean Scene Café closes earlier, as do most other coffee shops. I feel like this place has a lot of potential, but certain very important things must be addressed first: Flies — While the tables/dining area seemed clean(I’m not 100% sure since I didn’t dine in), the back entrance into the café was very unwelcoming. I remember the dark walkway being sort of «cool» back when it was Bay Street coffee because it seemed like a sort of grand entrance. However, it is now infested with flies! There’s very little else I need to say other than the fact that I literally had to walk THROUGH the cloud of flies to get inside. Bathroom/Smell — Walking further in, you are faced with bathrooms. While I didn’t have to use the bathrooms, there was an unpleasant smell coming from it and I am glad I didn’t have to use it, for fear of seeing what’s behind the door. Despite the unpleasant entrance, we continue inside and picked up our order: Lox on sesame bagel + cream cheese: This was surprisingly good! I don’t normally each raw, but my guy likes it and so orders it sort of frequently. The only comparison I have is to The Daily Bagel Shop’s lox bagel sandwich, and this blow it out of the water! The onions really bring out the flavors of the salmon, and the cream cheese just melts in your mouth with each bite. Breakfast burrito: This was good too! It’s a long/skinny burrito that they cut/fold in half for you, and it’s really just sausage pieces, melted cheese, and eggs. Not really sure this was worth the $ 6… but at least it was good. Although the food surpassed my expectations(from a coffee place), the coffee was actually unimpressive. Café au lait: Unimpressive, couldn’t really taste the coffee at all! Cappuccino: Tasted the coffee, but the coffee taste wasn’t really anything to write home about. The staff was friendly and fast though. Walking in at 8:50am in the morning, there was no line and only a few tables were occupied. They seemd to be in a rush to get our order ready in time, and they did a good job! Even had it ready a few minute earlier! Overall, would come back for food but probably not going to go out of the way in the morning for coffee like we did today. Orderahead app was a huge time-saver since they were able to start on our order before we got there.

First time here. Five stars for the very nice staff, minus one star for the strong tweaker contingency I encountered(there are no less than four serious tweakers lurking about as I write, sending off loud ‘spun’ vibes, if you know what I mean), and minus another star for the patio that reeks of and is covered in cigarette butts, probably thanks to the tweakers. I am a coffee snob so I didn’t even try theirs, as I imagine this place serves Charbucks quality beans, so I got a Thai boba, which is gorram delicious. Seriously though, tweakers give me the creeps. Maybe a no smoking rule would help thin that herd? I probably won’t come back here.

Nancy is an incredibly kind, gentle soul that greets you with a warm welcome and cup of coffee. Always chipper no matter the hour. Truly she makes this place what it is. The Chai is great, they don’t use syrup. Very bold espresso. Check it out.

Came here for a morning breakfast date with my friends. We all ordered a crêpe, some nutella, and some with nutella and banana. I ordered the cheese and ham crêpe and I thought it was pretty well done. They accidentally messed up on one of our orders but they were quick to correct it. The ladies working were extremely friendly. Their latte’s here are pretty good! It’s a very nice atmosphere, nothing fancy, but I love how the place is organized and set up. Pretty nice place to come for a cute breakfast hangout with my girls and have nice talks!

I drive by this place all the time, but finally visited it after needing a caffeine fix on our way to go wine tasting. The menu has a great variety of things to order. I decided to get a chai latte. Unfortunately, I prob should have gone with my gut to get a hot chocolate. It was mediocre at best. There was hardly any tea, and mainly tasted like milk and sugar(which I find happens quite often). My partner got the coffee and thought it was ok. The place is pretty large and has good seating to hang out with friends or do work. The service we received was a payout ice experience. Our barista was patient with me as I was trying to digest the menu and also was efficient in making our order. I wouldn’t get excited to go to this place, but am willing to try it out again to see if there are other menu options that are better.

Came here on a Saturday to get some work done. I ordered a medium vanilla latte for $ 3.40. Not bad! There was either slightly too much milk or insufficient espresso in my latte. However it kept me awake and energize to get work done so I’m not complaining! Plenty of seats and big tables for groups to meet up here. During my visit, there were roughly 10 people working on their laptops while 2 were having a conversation. The 2 were extremely courteous and selected a small table on the opposite side of the café so their conversation wouldn’t disturb everyone else from studying. Free wifi!

What used to be Bay Street Café became Bean Scene Café! Most of the décor looks about the same, so it still has the same old homey feeling and vibe. The parking lot experience here on Sunday mornings is a nightmare since people like to park here for the Farmers’ Market. It’s basically a kill or be killed kind of nightmare. o__o Coffee here ranges from $ 3 – 5, and they offer pastries, pies, and other bakery items for reasonable prices. They even have $ 5.50 lunch specials! The set up of the coffee shop is nice because they have tons of tables, counter seating, and even two sofas. With huge windows, you get lots of natural lighting. However, since I go to coffee shops to do work, having decent-fast internet is a must… and their internet is as slow as molasses. Most of my websites went into limbo and had a 25% chance of actually making it out alive. I spent a lot of time just staring at the rainbow spinning wheel of death/doom. Basically: Cute place to grab a cup of coffee and chat with friends. Not such a cute place to grab a cup of coffee to get work done.

Interior is nice. Parking is difficult to find, you have to go into the back private lot. I ordered a mango green tea with less ice, and I got a ton of ice. The flavor was strong, bold, and sweet. They also offer tapioca pearls with the drink which were pretty decent. I’ve never tried their coffee drinks, but there seems to be a good variety of flavors here. I just don’t get what’s so hard to understand about ‘less ice’.

What a cozy den on a crisp Sunday morning. Big menu of coffees and hot drinks, and I got a cordial hello by staff as I entered. But wait. They don’t know how to make a hot chocolate hot. Twice. See, I told the baristas that my wife was coming in, but that I’d start with a hot chocolate and pancakes before we order something else. Pancakes good for $ 3, btw, talk about a low-down budget starter. Lukewarm Chocolate came in a mug. I sat slunk in on the couch. When the pancakes came in a to-go box, I told the server, this hot chocolate is not drinkable, it’s not hot. «Can you put it back into a pot to re-heat it, or do you have a microwave?» I asked, even though I abhor microwaves usually. «Sure,» she said. «Sorry about that.» The female server took the hot chocolate behind the counter and handed it off to a male server, gave some news, and he took over. I looked away for the next couple of minutes, digging into my pancakes. «Hey, you’re hot chocolate is ready,» the male server bellowed. I got up from the couch, and grabbed my hot chocolate which was now in a to-go cup. «Sorry about that, sir,» he said. «That’s ok. Thank you for taking care of it,» I said. He did not take care of it. I don’t know how«The hot chocolate is not hot can you put into a pot to re-heat it» translates from one worker to another into He Did Not Like The Hot Chocolate Can You Put It Into a To-Go Cup. But that’s what happened. However, if none of this mishap occurs than I wouldn’t have a story to tell to accompany my two-star review. The thing is, this is probably in most cases a strong, sturdy 3-star place for the usual time. The staff is friendly, but their brains are a little mushy on Sunday mornings it seems. Oh, I called the wife and told her not to come in – we’re not getting fantastic-sounding crepes today. We’ll try the crepes at «Bean Scene» sometime next year if we ever travel back into the area, and see about revising the review. #crabbywhiteguy

Bean Scene was formerly Bay Street Coffee but I’m guessing has since had a new owner. However, they kept many of the decorations from Baystreet and the place is set up similarly. Overall it is a great study spot with lots of natural light, seating of all kinds(couches, tables, etc.) so it really accomodates whatever type of seating you prefer. Several of the edge tables also have outlets which is a good plus! The coffee here is also pretty decent and comes at a great price. The first time I came I had the almond latte which surprisingly even came with some simple latte art. From a shabby little place like this, that was definitely not expected! I’ve also tried the regular coffee, the ice coffee and the orange juice and all are good and very satisfactory. On top of that, the service is great and the baristas are all friendly and courteous. The one thing I like best here is probably the ice coffee simply because they don’t just brew coffee and water it down with ice to make it iced, but rather have a designated pitcher of ice coffee in their fridge so you can ask for the coffee with no ice to prevent ending up with disgusting watered down coffee. Honestly, there isn’t much to say about this place except that I have never been disappointed, but also have never been wowed. But since I came all the time to do work, I gotta give it five stars.
