Seriously, whoever runs this place needs to step up. The assembly line is slow as hell. I never see the GM working the line like I do at Pieology.(–3 stars) I have walked out of this place on half a dozen occasions, because the line is not only long, but moves so slowly it make me question if it is moving at all. You will consistently see people open the door and say«screw this line» and turn around and go somewhere else. The average wait time just to get to order is well above 20 minutes. The pizza is good, but not good enough to justify the wait time. This is the last time I come here unless something is done to fix the problem.

I did a ‘build your own’ pizza with GF crust and the vegan cheese(I’m GF/DF). The«cheese» was inedible so I took it back and let them know I just wasn’t brave enough to finish it. The staff was SO nice and accommodating, immediately giving me the option of remaking it w/o the cheese. They did at no charge and the pizza was excellent!

At blaze, you can either build-your-own pizza or choose from a variety of signature pizzas. The style of pizza is very similar to Pieology, which is only about 5 miles down the road. I normally order the build-your-own pizza, which entails choosing from a variety of different sauces, meats, and veggies. There is no limit to the amount of toppings you can select. However, I recommend that you don’t go too overboard, as the dough can be a little flimsy(resulting in a giant mess of spilled toppings). Unlike Pieology, Blaze Pizza has roasted garlic cloves and sautéed onions, which are some of my favorite toppings. The restaurant is big enough to accommodate a large number of people. They even have outdoor seating with heat lamps. Overall, the food tasted great, the wait time was short, and the portion size was fair for the price($ 8).

If you’ve read any of my past reviews, you know I am a huge fan of Blaze. In the past I have recommended Blaze over the competition due to its fresh ingredients and stealthy options from multiple doughs to endless toppings, but mostly for its service. After my last experience, I will not be recommending Blaze to anyone. Service: We waited in line for over 10 minutes on a Sunday, it was lunchtime and we were starved. When we reached the front, I asked the girl behind the counter about the different types of dough, she didn’t seem too happy to be answering any of my questions by the look and tone she gave me. I chose a dough and move down the assembly line to a young male employee that really did not look happy to be working that day. As he built my pizza, I noticed the woman in front of me had left her phone on the counter, I paused for five seconds to run after her and give her the phone. Literally 5 seconds. When I came back the same employee rolled his eyes countless times and had the most pissed off look on his face. I was trying to help someone else and ended up getting a crap customer service experience because of it. He started adding toppings on my pizza as if he was building a pizza for a mouse, barely anything was being put on it. I asked multiple times for a little more and of course, he rolled his eyes. I don’t know why I didn’t stop and grab the manager at that moment, but I was heated. My boyfriend was behind me and he had to deal with the same crap service as well. I get to the cashier and she is friendly and quick, but they forget to put after bake on both mine and my boyfriend’s pizzas. I go up after and ask for it on the side and the girl replies with«what do you want.» You had to hear her tone to understand my frustration. We ate quicker than we ever had in order to get out and both agreed we would not be coming back. Maybe this was an off day for this location, maybe these employees were overwhelmed by the crowd, but no «maybe» in the world is enough to treat customers like crap. This is your job, do it right or don’t do it at all. Ambiance: Large, spacious, and not very clean, plenty of indoor and outdoor patio seating to choose from. Customers should bus their own tables, but not all followed protocol leaving tons of crumbs and trash on the tables. Employees weren’t coming around to clean tables, so I had to use my personal wipes to clean off a dirty table. Price: Very affordable pricing for the filling portion and quality of their ingredients. However, I had to ask multiple times for a bit more of the toppings. I felt bad asking, but if I’m paying, I don’t want to feel robbed. Overall: Aside from the quality and taste which has always been stellar at this location, I really suggest management focus more on improving customer service. Sadly, some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced and for that reason alone, I will not be coming back.

Updating my review. Management has really gone down hill. The workers are not as friendly, the efficiency of building pizzas has gone down hill. We waited 10 minutes with a line Of only 4 in front. Staffing needs to be improved and the skill sets of building the Pizza needs to be improved of people will start going elsewhere. The best pizza in town and a huge disruptor to how pizza should be served. Fast fresh and extremely reasonably priced. We come here all the time.

Best pizza place ever ! One set price on whatever you want to add to your pizza. This is like the build a bear for pizza lovers. I know if this your first visit, it’s definitely gonna be overwhelming. You never had this many choices or decisions to make … White sauce or red sauce, more veggie or all meat? Do I want pesto on that … What kind of crust … Omg the selection is endless. And so far whatever I added to my pizza always ended up tasting so good. The only thing is whenever I go during lunch the line is always wrapping around the restaurant ! The good thing is you can always order online if you have an account ! But this place is a must try !

We been in line for only 35 minutes, we are still waiting. If I can, I would jump over the counter and help these young folks work, maybe the boss, needs to pay them more like in n out. On a Saturday, this is not cool. I am trying to be in n out with our orders and relax. This goes towards management not the workers. Please help our tummys, so we can come back. I almost for got to tell you, I love pizza, and I am a very-patient person. The workers are talking more then they are working? y?

I’ve been here about two times and it’s good every time! When you first walk in here it’s always super crowded and the line always wraps around the restaurant. This location is hidden in Pacific Commons near target and ulta. Even though the line’s usually long, it’s worth it to wait in line for your food. It’s pretty similar to chipotle with their long lines, but it’s because everything is custom and you tell the workers what you want. Pretty much how this place works is you can either choose a pizza from the menu or you can build your own. If you build your own pizza there’s a set price no matter how many toppings you put on it. They also have some desserts, salads and drinks. Their pizza here is too good. They have different type of crusts you could choose from, even gluten free. Then they have marinara sauce, spicy marinara and a cream sauce. I will say I tried the cream sauce and I was just not feeling it lol. They then have a ton of different cheeses, vegetables, meats and added sauces like pesto, etc. what I love here is you can put as much as you want with no extra fees! You can even do a half and half pizza. After you finish customizing your pie they put it in the oven and call your name when it’s done. Their food is really good here and who wouldn’t love a pizza that they’ve totally customized. My favorite thing here though is their blood orange lemonade. You can get it with the sodas. It’s just the right amount of sweetness and isn’t too tangy. I love it. Overall, great place! Good prices and good food. The line will be long but it’s worth the wait.

In an age of technology and having a smartphone permanently attached to your hands, it’s saddening to say, I couldn’t check in and I couldn’t take a picture of my pizza. Woe is me. But then again, you have any form of desktop conversation that apps allow to access via computer! So when Phong H. wanted a cheat meal, I said yes!(Note to self: venmo for pizza and ice cream) Build your own pizza, trying to look up at the board while the tall girl behind the counter is asking you a bunch of questions, like ‘how many pizza’s?’ or ‘is it for here or to go?’ or even ‘what kinda pizza?’ as well as ‘are you going to build your own pizza then?’ The line isn’t moving, please let me look to see what options you got– plus your row of pie dough on a wooden board is already backed-up on your counter. By the time I understood what was being asked, the pizza’s were on their way, including my unknown and indecisive option since I didn’t get to finish viewing the board. 1) The way you have your speakers and tall window counter, our voice doesn’t carry over the music that you provide your employees– that’s right. For some weird reason, sitting at the table, we can’t hear music, but standing in line and shouting for our food over the music, kinda odd, yea? 2) Tall girl got a little attitude when she had to repeat herself, again, your speakers were not helping. Little girl with the red head braid, she kept wanting to help the guy next to her and skipping my pizza. Mine was 1 of 2 pizzas– my friend went up ahead and two others finished their pizza before my pizza ever did. Why? Because she was focused on helping the guy next to her build a pizza with him. She put my two items on and kinda forgot about it until the guy to her right finished two pizza and saw that mine was still sitting there. Roasted Garlic Dude, you gave that place the 4 star. Red Head would’ve caused it to be a 3 star review. The price, since I was stuck in line, according to my friend for 2 pizzas and 2 beers, was about $ 28. what? The beer costs just as much as the pizza? Deng, I don’t know if it’s considered cheap pizza or pricey beer :) Either way, it’s not a bad price to pay. Little did I know, you could ask for more meat or more cheese– I thought it was by weight or measurement. I would’ve asked for more salami and cheese. :) There’s always next time! The white sauce and the thin crust was a good change, since I’ve been going deep dish only. Pieology might be a little more organized and focused, but hey: cheers:– here’s to a future in business Blaze!

I agree with Wendy Y. that Blaze is definitely better than Pieology for several reasons. Their dough is a bit thicker and consistently made; whereas Pieology has a thinner and uneven crust. The topping selection is abundant with more gourmet choices like fresh ground sea salt and pepper; roasted garlic cloves and arugula. The lines are always long no matter what day of the week, but it does go quick. Staff does not interact with you because they are too busy pushing the pizzas. Don’t forget to order the S’Mores pie for dessert and have them warmed up in the oven for you — comes out gooey and warm!

Ok the Chipotle of pizza someone else mentioned seems like a fair assessment. You can customize your pizza to your heart’s desire here and all for a reasonable price of $ 8.49! The thin crust and pizza oven are fab. The toppings selection is also great. There’s tons of meat, veggie and cheese choices. My only suggestions would be to offer the pesto or white sauce for customized pizzas(currently offered in the pre-set pizzas) and to include avocado as a topping option. That would be mmm-mmm delicious!

Overall, I probably came here like 5 to 8 times already. Recently yesterday for Pi day. This place is awesome! A chipotle version of pizza. We have a pieology in Fremont but I like this place better due to the thin crust. Usually get the BBQ chicken pizza with added ingredients like roasted garlic and onions. I really like the customization they allow you to have here. $ 9 to $ 10.

A ninja turtle’s dream can come true! So can a pizza loving human’s! Blaze pizza is a pick and choose pizzeria. For the undecided, they also provide signature pizzas. At the time of my visit, I was undecided. I went with the the meat eaters pizza. The pie are made to order right in front of you and you can request to add additional toppings on your pie, even if it’s a signature pizza. No extra cost for extra toppings! Don’t mind if I do! This pizza was topped with the following ingredients: pepperoni, crumbled meatballs, red onion, mozzarella, and red sauce. The pizza was cooked fairly quick! After ordering and paying for my pizza, it took about ten minutes to complete from start to finish. This was impressive since it was a busy day when I visited. The crust came out crispy and soft. The cheese was melted to perfection for me, stringy and gooey! The pizza toppings were nicely cooked and enjoyable. For a pie this size it was filling and reasonably priced. Blaze, you certainly know how to please your customers!

I’m not a huge fan of cheese, so I love that I can make a pizza here sans any cheese. I pretty much loaded my pizza with everything… like everything. Next time I’ll narrow it down to flavors that may be more complimentary but honestly, it tasted great any way you slice it. Staff is very friendly and helps you out, especially if you’ve never been here. I love the spicy red sauce and they have great options for toppings! A little something for everyone. Definitely will be back!

YMMV — Your mileage may vary. I decided to come back to Blaze pizza last Monday, shortly after writing a stellar review of the place. When I first visited, my pizza was quite exceptional. This last Monday, my pizza was quite dismal. Unfortunately, your experience will depend greatly on who is preparing your food. As I stated in my previous review, the ovalini mozzarella and artichokes were amazing toppings not to be missed. Having these on my pizza without having to pay and arm and a leg were the main reasons why I came back. I ordered 2 different types of cheese, ovalini mozzarella and ricotta, yet my pizza was severely lacking cheese — as in you could see straight through to the red sauce. You’d think that your pizza would be too cheesy if anything when ordering two cheeses, but not in my case. Severely lacking in cheese. And now the über-frustrating part. I asked the same girl who put cheese on my pizza for extra artichokes, and told her they were my favorite topping and that’s why I liked coming to Blaze. Instead of putting extra artichokes(like during my first visit) she puts an even LESS amount of artichokes and painstakingly shreds them layer by layer to cover the pizza. I asked her for a bit more, and again she takes a single quarter of an artichoke piece, and shreds in layer by layer to cover the pizza. Not only did I end up with less artichokes than my initial visit, but now the texture of the artichokes have been ruined. I was half-way tempted to make a comment about the toppings coming out of the employee’s wages, but then I remembered that my mother raised a gentlemen, so I thanked the girl for my pizza, and spent the rest of my meal trying to convince myself that my 2nd experience at Blaze was as good as the first. Needless to say, I’m not a very good liar. The pizza fell short of amazing. Such a pity.

Good location and easy to find off of the freeway. Plenty of staff which are very helpful and friendly. There is plenty of parking the lot which has various other stores in the area. The interior is well kept with plenty of tables. The pizza is thin crust and made to order. Have the option of a one topping pizza or build your own with unlimited toppings for a little more. If you aren’t sure what type of pizza to make there is a board above the ordering areas with various pizza’s. There are a lot of topping to chose from. Can pick between spicy or regular marina sauce and various cheeses. After selecting all the toppings the wait time is short for your pizza to cook and pick up at the counter. If you like ranch then you’re in luck because it is free. Just as the person working at the pick up counter.

Blaze really hits the spot whenever I’m having a pizza craving! My first time having Blaze was when it opened in Davis during my college years and I’m glad to say that even though its a chain store, their locations all uphold the same standard and quality. The line always moves pretty fast and the pizza is done in a matter of minutes. The pizzas here are decently sized for a one-person portion and the price is definitely worth it too(around $ 8 after tax for your own personal pizza)! Get the build-your-own option because you get unlimited toppings — it’s the only way to go. You can ask them to throw on as much of each topping as you want so that’s definitely a plus. They have a wide variety of topping options that all taste very fresh. For the sauces, they have a few options to choose from and you can ask for half and half(such as half red sauce, half cream sauce) if you want to have the best of both worlds. A lot of people compare this place to Pie-ology and truth be told, Blaze is better than Pie-ology. The only thing I wished when Blaze opened was that they would have a pesto spread like Pie-ology does and now they do! Make sure to have them spread that pesto on your pizza after it’s done baking — it makes a world of difference. * Keep in mind that the pizzas here are thin crust(and be warned, the crusts are pretttty thin), so if you’re not a fan of thin crust pizzas, this might not be the place for you.

Pizza pizza pizza, I have pizza all the time because apparently all girls like pizza for some reason. To be honest, I’m actually very impressed by my visit to Blaze. Granted, it’s not my first experience with the«make-your-own-pizza», but the quality is pretty dam good here. The generation of food has definitely evolved to the next level. Is it just me or was pizza typically one of those drunk foods you’d grab at 2am in the morning after a night of clubbing? Where the only thing you wanted was something warm and cheesy(minus the grease in my case). In fact, the best ones would be the run down hole in the walls that offered you ginormous pieces that you probably wouldn’t go on a regular day. But anyways, it’s pretty refreshing that Fremont is getting a little classier. For those of you don’t know what Blaze is, let me walk you through the process. First, you wait in a super long line so grab one of the menus so you can take a look at the«ingredients» before you get to the counter. You can choose between some of their pre-made combos or simply make your own(no added cost to put more or less ingredients from the combos). At the counter, you simply tell the server on the other side what you’d like on your pizza and they’ll construct is down the assembly line. Voila, 180 seconds later, your pizza will be done! Will definitely be back, I just hope the line dies down. The quality of the ingredients is superb and I’m so glad that I don’t need to dab my pizza with a napkin to get rid of the excess grease.

I.Want.All.The.Toppings. There are gazillion possible combinations, but I like the combination of chicken, ham, ricotta, goat cheese, red onions and mushrooms topped with arugula and pesto drizzle. I tend to avoid chicken on pizza, but the chicken at Blaze isn’t dried out or tough, although last time, there was some chicken cartilage in the mix. Pizza isn’t health food by any standards, so I like to have them pile on some arugula top so I can pretend I’m eating a salad. On a pizza. Pizza salad! It’s a struggle to restrain myself from getting ALL the toppings. So many choices, but some of them are quite salty, like the sautéed zucchini. I want all the toppings, but the crust is thin, so it’s better not to get topping crazy. The crust is pretty good thin crust. It’s got a decent bite to it and the edges puff up a bit for something nice to hold onto while you eat. You can even have them drizzle olive oil on the crust! Smores made with McVittie’s Digestiv cookies. $ 2.00. Gluten-free crust, vegan cheese and lots of veggie options. $ 3.14 pizzas on Pi Day, March 14th, but the line was out the door, all the way to the crosswalk. 30 – 45 minute wait, about 10 – 15 minutes in the sun. They handed out little cups of lemonade to the people lined up outside, which was pretty nice. I love this place for a wallet-friendly, casual meal under $ 10.
