Bobby’s Krazy Krabs was always on my mind for their mussels i read about in a review. after visiting Adobolicious, i couldn’t shake the feeling i’ve been here before. yep. before it was Bobby’s. now Bobby’s gone too.(in name only). bobby’s still here running Adobolicious.

[Dined here in October 2012] Sorry for the long overdue review. My girlfriends and I loooooove shrimp and seafood boil places, and are always on the look out for new joints to try out. Location was a little sketch but the shrimp wasn’t too bad! We all got different flavors and sampled some of each others, but I think the winning flavor of the night was the one with coconut milk.(Think Thai yellow curry or Filipino Ginataang Hipon.) Their version of garlic noodles were made with spaghetti noodles/pasta and not egg noodles, just a fair warning. We always order garlic noodles whenever its on a menu but this is a menu item I wouldn’t order again here. Anyhoo, I do recall that service was indeed, very slow as we had to wait for everything: getting our drinks, getting our food, asking for the check, waiting for our credit cards/receipts etc. The restaurant was definitely not full so I don’t know why the service wasn’t more attentive. Hope that this place improved since we’ve been here, because I have a soft spot for Mom and Pop shops.

2.5 rounded down. I got a groupon for this place so came with my siblings. This place is a Boiling Crab/Ray’s Crabshack type of place w/filipino food. We ordered their cat fish, lumpia, and 3 lbs of shrimp w/heads. We actually wanted to order muscles, but there out of it. Then we wanted to order crayfish, but they were out of it. We wanted to order coke, but they were out of coke. We wanted to order gumbo. I believe but they were out of it. That’s why we ended up with 3 lbs of shrimp. The shrimp was very. lemony. I think in our batches, they put WAYY too much lemon in them cuz they were SUPER lemony. It was okay overall. I prefer other places over it. The lumpies were kind of burnt, and not that great. And the fried catfish was a really small serving, but they were good. I didn’t get a chance to try their other food but they had kalbi, and other dishes for you to order. One good thing was the service was good. It’s family owned/ran I’m asssuming but everyone was very nice and on top of getting stuff for us. They were very sorry they were out of certain things cuz it was late in the day. But overall I probably wouldn’t come again and prefer to go to other options.

I bought a Groupon and finally tried it out. I’m a fan. It lived up to my expectations. We were greeted with smiles immediately upon entering. After being seated our server greeted us promptly and brought our drinks. She remained attentive throughout our visit. She was the only server and the restaurant was relatively busy. We ordered shrimp w/o heads in garlic butter, mild and cajun, medium spicy with garlic bread. The medium spicy had enough to make my nose run but not so much to burn. It was SO good! Both dishes, or should I say bags, were delish! I enjoy eating straight out of the bag with my hands. Utensils were readily available though. The restaurant is located near the freeway, easily accessible and recognizable from the street. It’s located in an older area but definitely not«sketchy». It’s in a small strip center. There was more than enough parking when we were there on a Sunday night around 7. The lot is well lit. The restaurant itself is understated, but appropriate for the type of cuisine they’re serving and in line with the pricing structure. I appreciate there being several options from which to choose. Their«krazy crabs» menu is paired with their Filipino options on the flip side. It’s almost the best of both worlds — shrimp with lumpia on the size! Mmm Mmm Mmm! I’d return!

Hmm… I didn’t realize the restaurant would be so quiet! We were the only customers for lunch… other than a couple of take-out orders during the time we were there. No tapoica for the boba drinks. I was disappointed crawfish was out of season now. We had the fried catfish with cajun fries and the krazy combo-flavored shrimp(without heads). The catfish was fried perfection. The fries were not consistent in cooking, with some being firmer and crispier. The shrimp was definitely overcooked. The meat stuck to the shell, an obvious sign of cooking for too long. The waitress was very nice, allowing me to use my Groupon even though it was supposed to be used for dinner. Damn those fine print! Groupons didn’t used to have so many restrictions?! But I digress… I will attest that the location is a bit sketchy being a couple of doors down from a liquor store. SOOO… best come here during the day.

Food was good, comparable to Boiling Crab, no long wait for a table. Came here for dinner on a Saturday with a group of 8 and were seated right away. We ordered the shrimp, crawfish, and Krazy Mix(mussels, clams, shrimp, corn, and sausage) in the Ragin Cajin and Go Krazy flavors. The Go Krazy flavor has more of a garlic flavor compared to Boiling Crab. I think it’s better to get the hot spicy rather than medium spicy since medium spicy didn’t taste spicy at all. The garlic noodles were ok, nothing special. My uncle also tried the Tosilog which he enjoyed. One negative thing was the mussels and clams didn’t seem to be fully cooked. :( Service was pretty slow and it takes a while to get their attention when you need something(i.e. water, the check, etc). Overall, this place was alright, better than waiting for hours at Boiling Crab. I’ll come back to try this place during crab season.

I had so much hope for this place, especially since its only 5 minutes away from my house, but this place just doesn’t have that«WOW» factor. I came here before when it was called«Cajun» and I left a Unilocal review suggesting a bunch of different things that would improve their business. It looked like they took a lot of my suggestions into consideration when they changed it over to Krazy Krabs. Now there’s more of a focus and direction, seafood boil with filipino inspiration behind it all. They also repainted, added more tv’s, offer boba drinks, changed the décor and cleaned it up a little. I also took advantage of the Groupon deal that was offered and thought this would be a chance for me to try something I usually wouldn’t ever order… Service was friendly and you could tell this is still a family owned business because they’re really trying. We ended up ordering the garlic noodle, two pounds of shrimp, and a pound of king crab legs in the«Krazy Sauce». Waited about 15 minutes and the food came out. Garlic Noodles: A little dry but very flavorful. A little on the salty side, but had a nice hint of garlic that wasn’t overpowering. King Crab Legs: FAIL! They tasted like thawed buffet style snow crab legs. The shell didn’t crack when you tried to break it open, instead, it bended back and forth. Luckily, they included a pair of scissors to cut open the shell. Even then, I was unimpressed. The sauce was good, but a bit too pasty for the king crab legs. Shrimp: Good, flavorful and BIG. As any other shrimp boil place, you have to eat them quick because they longer they stay in the bag, they continue to cook, get mushy and fall apart. All the flavors were there, nice little kick and it was nice to see how they improved on their shrimp. PLEASE keep in mind that this place is NOT Boiling Crab, Rays, Backyard Boil, etc. Their sauce is their own recipe and it doesn’t taste like they’re trying to replicate something that they’re not, so it comes to a point to stop comparing the sauces. Krazy Krabs has their own legitimate sauce and its«good». I’ll only come back from the shrimp again. I hope this place stays in business and they continue to work on getting better.

I love seafood and I love Filipino food. I also reeeealllly love flavorful cajun food so Bobby’s Krazy Krabs is the closest thing I have to heaven in the tri city area. If you love crab and shrimp, you have to try the Krazy Mix, I get medium because I can’t take super hot food. My family gets the HOT but I don’t partake. I have been here about 5 times and I have enjoyed the food every time. I even get the boba drinks now(delish). I was lucky enough to get a Groupon for this place and I can’t wait to return for another delicious dinner. lts a family friendly, little too dark and the servers need training in customer service but I find it a nice place to hang out with my kids and enjoy a good dinner. Try it, I am sure you will like it! Just a suggestion, don’t go when you are in a rush, Pinoys are usually not punctual, much like my own people :) we work at a different pace and if you have no patients this place won’t be for you.

I really really wanted to like this place. It really did look promising when I got my groupon and read some of the reviews. Compared to what I had in the past though including Ray’s Crab Shack, Boiling Crab, and Craw Daddy this definitely rates in the bottom. My group had the $ 20 for $ 40 groupon deal. We ordered ½ pound of sausage, 2 pounds of shrimp(one lb mild and the other«krazy hot»), corn, rice, cajun fries, and 1lb crab. To start with service was horrible. In the end the waiters kept apologizing but keeping customers waiting for over an hour to receive some food was just ridiculous. We arrived around 7:45 but didn’t get any food until after 9:30PM. In terms of quality… the food tasted alright. Nothing to die for. Our shrimp and crab legs were overcooked and hard too peel. The heads weren’t juicy like it is in other crab shacks. The«krazy hot» sauce was not even all that spicy. The sausages seemed like it was costco quality. rather something I can make myself. I think within a few months this place will learn how to be a growing and successful business. They simply just need to start with the basics in learning the ins and outs of running a successful restaurant. I did like the fact that their was Filipino food. Maybe if I ever come back I will see how their Filipino food taste.

So we got a Groupon for this place, only reason why we decided to eat here. Right when we walked in, the waitress seemed really nice. Thumbs up to the menu that also serves Filipino food. We had to use $ 40 so this is what we ordered: 2 pounds of shrimp in the Krazy Sauce, Crispy Pork Binagoongan(fried pork smothered in fermented shrimp paste) and Chicken Wings. First off, WHILE we were waiting quite a long time, some young girl walks inside(assuming she works there) and doesn’t even greet us and even appeared stuck up. What made things worse, her and the original lady walk THROUGHTHEFRONT in front of us to throw out the trash… GROSS! and uh? Department of Health FAIL! After waiting almost 30 minutes, we finally got our shrimp bags. HELLNO they were not a pound a bag. There was 8 shrimp in my bag??? No wonder the service took long, my shrimp was completely overcooked or old??? It was soo hard to peel and kept getting stuck on the shell! The Crispy Binagoongan looked so easy to make. As if they just threw the shrimp paste on it and mixed it together. No taste at all and the eggplant was not fresh. FINALLLLLLLY after almost an hour we get our chicken wings. Aren’t chicken wings supposed to be brown when cooked? well ours was almost black! again, overcooked! took the whole thing to go and my brother in law didn’t even eat it. Only reason for 2STARS is because the elder lady was very nice and uses canned soda for our drinks. Would not eat here or again or recommend it. Even with a Groupon. Boiling Crab, Rays, and Backyard Boiler are actually cheaper than this place so imagine if we didn’t have a Groupon.

My family and I visited this establishment a couple of weeks after its grand opening a few months ago. My mom wanted to go since she received a 20% off coupon from a friend and wanted to celebrate her and my dad’s wedding anniversary. I suggested a nicer place as Bobby’s Krazy Krabs wouldn’t have been my choice for an anniversary dinner, but my mom wanted to check it out anyway. My first impression of place was, eww, this place looks like a dump for being«new». I was already skeptical before going given their janky ass location, but I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. There were only a couple of other parties when we arrived and I thought, great, service should be quick. Well, they brought us menus and waters right away and took our order within minutes, but the wait for our food was ridiculous, especially since there were barely any other patrons there. We waited over 30 minutes to get our bags of shrimp, clams, corn, rice, sweet potato fries, etc. Honestly, it doesn’t take that long to fry some fries or put rice in a styrofoam cup or cook corn for that matter. I expected to receive our food quick as we always get our food within 10 minutes of ordering at The Boiling Crab. Since I’m comparing this place to The Boiling Crab, I might as well share my ranking as far as Cajun/Creole«backyard crab fests» go: 1. The Boiling Crab 2. Ray’s Crab Shack 3. Bobby’s Krazy Krabs I still have yet to try Backyard Boiler in Union City and The Rockin’ Crawfish in Oakland, but I’m almost 100% positive that these 2 restaurants rank better than Bobby’s leaving Bobby’s at a hard last on my list. As for the taste and quality of the food, it’s only so-so. I’ve definitely had better. Their«Krazy Mix» sauce has way too much butter for my liking and is extremely salty. The sweet potato fries were overly saturated in oil too — not even crispy. Service wasn’t amazing, but it wasn’t terrible either. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. He also changed the channel on the tube so we can watch American Idol while we ate(one of my mom’s fave shows). Prices are about the same compared to the other Cajun/Creole places in the Bay. The ambiance was a total turn off for me though. Paint the walls. Change the tile flooring. Spell check your menu. Add better décor that makes sense. Do SOMETHING to better your appearance. I swear, this place needs Robert Irvine from Restaurant: Impossible. Meh, I’m never coming back.

My cousin ordered shrimp and Krazy mix to go. I went gaga over the shrimp in garlic butter sauce. I smothered my rice with the garlic butter sauce and devoured the shrimp like there was no tomorrow. I swear I could almost feel my arteries clogging but did that stop me? absolutely not! I also liked the Krazy mix in original cajun sauce; it had just the right amount of kick to it. I wasn’t able to eat much of the krazy mix though because my husband finished most of it in a blink of an eye. ‘can’t wait to dine in their restaurant.

Love this place. I ordered the Garlic Noodles and Garlic Crab with two corn on the cobb’s. Service and food was great. Waitress very tentative. Forget what everyone else says negative about this place. I like it. Beats going to S.F. for crab :) Will return real soon.

The spicy shrimp and mild shrimp were super duper flavorful. These were so delicious, they were like Boiling Crab status. I heard that they might go out of business because they don’t have enough customers, but they are so good. Every bite was finger licking good. All I needed was the super messy shrimp and rice, and I was so in love with my meal! Love it!

Salt overload! I honestly really wanted to like this place but unfortunately it was quite disappointing in terms of food as well as service. We had ordered the garlic noodles, cajun fries, and a pound of shrimp and came every single item came out extremely salty! I love salty foods so for me to say that this is too salty means it’s pretty darn salty. I even had to wipe off the spices that the fries were completely doused in and I don’t recall finishing any of our foods between three people… And trust me, it wasn’t because we were full. Our server was nice but the kitchen took an unreasonable amount of time to prepare our order despite the fact that we were the only people in the restaurant. Now, I didn’t read this in any of the other reviews so I’m going to going to give them the benefit of the doubt that it was just a single off day… but I won’t be returning. Great type of restaurant for Fremont but they have some major kinks to work out.

Second verse, same as the first. We came again last Saturday night with our kids in tow and had a terrific dinner! We again ordered the Krazy Mix, only this time we got just garlic butter instead of the krazy sauce because my daughter doesn’t like the spicy spicy. We also ordered fried calamari with cajun fries for my son. The bag o seafood, like the first time we went was hot, fresh and delicious!!! Service was outstanding… Thanks Chris! We have definately found our new favorite spot!

I like seafood especially Cajun Style Seafood. So I thought I would roll to Bobby Krazy Krabs and give them a try. So I jumped into my Urban Assault Whip and rolled to Bobbys. I rolled to some Oldies. I was able to park right out in front. I rolled in and was greeted by 2 Attractive Asian Spinner Girls in shorts. I picked my table and was seated and presented with a menu. I order a lb of Clams in Krazy Sauce, a lb of Prawns in Coconut Krazy Sauce, Cajun Fries, Corn on the Cob. and a Coke. They have Flat screens with Sports on for Entertainment. My food was brought out 15 minutes later. Piping Hot. The Clams were tasty as well as the Prawns. Cajun Fries were spicy. Coke cold and refreshing. Servers were attentive and quick. Overall an enjoyable eating experience. Paid by Visa and rolled out.

+ Good variety of well-priced fresh seafood + Flavorful cajun seasoning + Super friendly, helpful staff + 15% off grand opening promotion until 5⁄15 Came here on a Tuesday evening around 7:30pm with another girl friend, and we opted to order the Krazy Mix, which is a combo of 1lb each of shrimp, clams, and mussels, with 4 corns and 2 sausages. We thought it would be a bit too much for the two of us, but seeing as we finished all but two corns, it turns out that we’re either real fatties or, that amount is good for two. The owner told us that the Krazy Mix is meant to feed 2 – 4 people. 2 hungry people, or 4 not-so-hungry people, I suppose. As with other cajun seafood eat-from-the-bag, must-wear-bib-to-save-your-clothes eateries, we were offered food-handling clear plastic gloves and dutifully donned our bibs before digging in. Our water glasses were refilled promptly and regularly, and our server was good about making sure we were doing okay. I believe our mix came with black mussels, not green mussels. They seemed fresh to me, but I could be wrong. Towards the end of the bag, the sauce/seasoning can get a bit too salty, but that could be just from licking my fingers and the shells all the way through my meal. Seems the place is still working out its grand-opening kinks, and will be implementing a few other items as it gets more situated. There’s a big sign for«Bob’s Boba Bar» on the wall behind the cash register, but there was no boba served yet(as of 5⁄1), but they promised they will be rolling out boba soon. Pretty happy with my meal here and I’d be glad to be back.

It used to be Cajun Seafood & Sushi or something, I think they closed down and now reopening as Bobby’s Krazy Krab. They are running this 15% off grand opening promotion till 5÷15÷12. I just happened to see this when I passed by and I ordered one pound green mussels and one pound shrimp to go. I got there around 5p and there was only one more gentleman also ordering takeout. The green mussels are a lot larger than the black ones and they were live, unlike those types that we get from Chinese supermarket(all frozen). Sauce not as salty and in fact, very tasty, I liked it a lot. Ordered the shrimps with the heads and one sausage; shrimps were in decent size and perfectly cooked, just wish that they can add more garlic instead of oil/butter. Sausage was just alright, not soft enough. I ordered everything in garlic butter mild, haven’t tried other seasoning. I tried their crawfish when it was still Cajun restaurant and the crawdads were all dead in black color, not sure if this«new» restaurant get fresher live ones but I will try and do an update. It is a good sign that they don’t serve sushi or any other type of food besides Cajun style seafood now though.
