Totally awesome place for hot pot. Best Stinky Tofu Hot Pot ever!!! Better than Boiling Point. Twice of the size and more flavors. Only $ 11.99!!! This should be $ 15.99! Going to try House Special Lamb Pot next soon before they raise the price. :-)

I’ve been driving past this place after work for almost 2 months now, so when it finally opened I stopped by for snack and drink. I tried the Popcorn Chicken and a Roasted Oolong Milk Tea with Boba Noodle, two important staples of these types of cafes/restaurants. Unfortunately I went in with higher expectations than I should have, the popcorn chicken was just standard fare, actually almost too salty for me. I was also recommended the Roasted Oolong milk tea because I mentioned I like stronger teas and half sweetness and I was satisfied with the suggestion. The sweetness level at 50% was perfect and the taste of the tea was there. The boba noodle, which I have never seen before at other places, was unique to say least. It was much softer than regular boba balls and doesn’t have a chewiness but it is not as soft or smooth as grass jelly or puddings. I wasn’t a fan of the texture initially, and prefer the stiffer sweet noodle from Comebuy. It’s a different kind of topping for sure, like so I’d recommend people try it to see if it is to their liking. I’ll probably be back to try their actual food in the future but for now I give it 4 stars because the interior decoration is quite nice, the food so far was passable, and its a new business and you can tell the owners are putting in a lot of effort here.

Came in for lunch on Sat. The relaxed ambience of the lounge/waiting area is very welcoming and unique. Definitely makes waiting in line for a table a little more pleasant. We ordered these: Popcorn chicken: absolutely yummy! Crispy and juicy. Basil is a nice touch. We had to order seconds for this dish. House special lamb pot: love the sour cabbages in this! The portion is generous, enough to feed 2 ppl. Pork chop and chicken bentos: juicy and tender. Great favor! Taiwanese stewed egg: these were really flavorful and super yummy! Wish it comes as a side dish for the bento. Beef and tendons noodle: Prefer the meat less chewy. We had the premium milk tea w/boba, mango green tea w/mango star and oolong milk tea w/boba noodles. Boba and noodles are perfectly cooked, chewy but not too tough. Never had mango star before. Highly recommend this one! Love that they let you adjust ice and sweetness level. Shaved snow: very unique! Definitely leave some room for dessert!

Sitting there for almost an hour and still didn’t get my food, or my drink. I was being super patient with them knowing that it’s their grand opening but they shouldn’t open when nobody is ready. Everyone didn’t seem to know what to do. I couldn’t say much about their food because I didn’t even get my food. I left after 45 minutes sitting there.

Food was a 3 and service was a 5 with our waitress constantly checking up on us and the owner being so friendly. I tried the pork belly bun(bun was a little dry), the stinky tofu(tofu was a little over fried), and the veggie noodle soup(tasty broth with tons of noodles). The egg pudding premium milk tea tasted slightly watered down which might have been due to the ice melting. The environment feels very comfortable with a dining type seating area towards the front and more tables further into the restaurant. I would come back to try this again. I know they’re taking suggestions for improvement to heart.

Second visit Tried: (2nd visit) Peach Green Tea with boba 3*: average compared to other boba place. Need some work on the boba. I’ve actually taste the boba first before ordering since I was hesitated to add based on my previous experience. It’s tasty and chewy when I tried it but when it’s blend with the ice cold peach green tea, it’s a little hard and no longer chewy. (1st visit-below) Premium Milk Tea w/boba 2*: milk tea was good but boba was too tough to chew on. I didn’t finish the drink. Boba noodle 4*: I have to give this to them, it was much better compared to the other boba I’ve tried in this store. They replaced mine since I indicated the challenge of the boba. Spicy Beef Pot 3*: it average but I think they can do better once established! Service 4*: very attentive given its newly open! That should be the case. Well staffed but might need some additional training. The owner or manager seems to be running around while the other members see guidance. Value 3*: My order of milk tea and hot pot tab at $ 17 so average compared to quality! Atmosphere 4*: very cozy, feel like home as stated in their core value and mission statement. Love the overall layout of the restaurant as they are not just focus on sales but a unique place for people to hang out. Overall: it should have been 3* given my experience but their theme and mission deserves a 4*. Most restaurant would max out every inches for a table but they used at least 15−20% of their space to set up a family like room deserve every STARS! All they need to work on is quality and team member services! Recommended to try! It’s only $ 3 — 4 for a drink! :)

This is Taiwanese restaurant, but they don’t even know how to make authentic pop corn chicken. Their pop corn chicken is the worst! Tasteless!

My husband and I came here this past weekend for lunch. We arrived at 11:45AM and there were a lot people in the waiting area. We were told to wait until a table was available. Nobody came to get my name for a wait list. I had to go up to the lady to ask her to put me down on the wait list. There were three empty tables in the restaurant at the time so I asked the manager can we please sit down? She said«well, even if we seat you now, you will still have to wait for your food.» Then my question is «if you are unable to serve all tables in a reasonably amount of time, then why do you have so many tables in your restaurant in the first place?» Of course, I did not say that out loud. finally, after 25 minutes, we were seated. They quickly took our order. Another 15 minutes passed, I finally got my drink. Another 10 minutes passed, i still do not have my food. I was starving at the time so I ask the waitress to check my order and finally they brought out our food. The food was legit. Beef soup was good and flavorful but not too salty. The meat was very tender. The Taiwanese hotpot(medium spicy level) was okay. I think i prefer the one from Tasty Pot, but this one is fine too. They gave generous portion of ingredients. However, the waitress forgot to light-up fire for our pot and we had to call her back to do that. Overall, we spent almost 2 hours for lunch. I do not expect to spend this much time unless i am dining at a high-end French restaurant. Will I come back again? Maybe in a couple of month after the waitresses are trained and after the place become more organized.

I went there because of the good review on Unilocal. However, I was totally disappointed. It’s a group of untrained employees, scrambling around but didn’t do anything. Waited for 30 mins and line didn’t move at all while many empty tables are available. The manager is taking wait list, clean table, everything… You need to be in luck to find her so you can be put on wait list because she brings it with her. The bartender doesn’t take order which is strange, he pointed us to the waitress and the waitress is pointing us to another waitress. This is a ridiculous place. Will not return.

Came here in January before the grand opening and today. Ordered beef noodle soup in both cases and delicious as usual. Was disappointed with the service today. I felt more staff and training is needed. Due to the short staff, the manager was trying to do it all. From greeting customer, checking orders to cleaning tables. There are times when customers walk in the door and there was no one to greet them. There were times when all the staffs were focused on something and have their back face the main dining area and could not see customers waving at them. There is a lack of sense of priority. There was a big party sitting down next to us after we placed the order. The waitress was busy passing out chopsticks to them and she failed to notice that my food has arrived and I have no utensil on my table. It might be worth while to hire a bus boy to clean up and set up tables and have one staff focusing on seating customers in a timely fashion. Today we saw 4 empty tables while customers were waiting in the lounge area and staff were too busy to seat customers. I know the staffs have gone through some level of trainings before the grand opening but they definitely need a lot more training. Things like walk away from the customer in the middle of a conversation and start a new conversation with a staff somewhere else and never returns. I strongly recommend the owner and the manager pay a visit to Baldie’s Café on Decoto in union city and observe how efficient the restaurant is run. My husband and I go there all the time. One because the food is consistent and two because service is excellent. From putting your name on the waiting list, to cleaning up tables, to seating customers, to taking orders, to checking back on your food, to water and coffee refilling, I don’t think you can find a better place to learn how to provide great customer service. I love your food and hope you will be in business for a very long time. Hope you can take the feedback and improve your service in the near future.

First time here. Glad there’s a Taiwanese place in the neighborhood finally! The food is good and reasonably priced. You can tell the place is new so they are still trying to iron out running as a smooth group. We came as a big group and everything in the group looked yummy. People in the group were generally satisfied and I look forward to trying out more things for myself including the pork buns. I saw one lady walk out in disgust with her family due to the lunch hour rush and chaos due to not being seated. Keep in mind this place is new so things like that will happen. Tip– find someone that works there and be sure to put your name down. Pros: Good comfort food at a decent price Cons: Place is new so service can be a little slow

+4 stars for their drinks(hot honey milk tea & hot matcha green tea) –2 stars for the 10 minute wait to order &20 minute wait to get our drink +1 because it’s a new establishment so they have room for lots of improvement(efficiency & personnel) in short — if you have some time to spare & want some good tea, this is a great place to stop by!

I was unaware that this place just opened! I came here Friday night with my boyfriend and a friend. We were very much excited to try this new restaurant out. However, there was a bit of a wait to get a table… We were told that it would be a 10 – 15 minute wait. It took at least 30 minutes for us to finally sit down and order. I ordered the N2 Spicy Beef and Tendon Soup while my boyfriend had the B3 Japanese Curry Porkchop Bento. Both dishes were savory in their own way. The portions are unexpectedly HUGE as well. As much as I enjoyed the food and ambiance, the wait was unfortunately too long for my preference. I would definitely return to try out other things on the menu. But for now, I will wait until the long lines die down just a bit. I give this place a 3.5 stars because of the wait mishap.

Update: They’re open! First day is today! Ordered a Rose Milk Tea(hot), and a Hawaiian Fruit Tea(cold). Both were very good, although the Milk Tea was a little sweet, even at 50% sweetness, perhaps 25% next time? Later, I ordered the shrimp cake, which was delicious! Crunchy outside, warm and flavorful inside, with a tasty dipping sauce on the side. Prices are reasonable. They have a comfortable«living room» area, with couches and a coffee table, which is nice for hanging out, I suppose, but not as ideal for working. They do have free WiFi, however, which I made use of, as I had a couple hours of work to finish.

Drove all the way here to check it out after reading the reviews and looking over the website. We also got the advertisement in the mail for the grand opening over a month ago. There were people inside(employees and little kids running around) but there was a sign on the door saying, «sorry we are not open yet.». We came Saturday at 3pm, well within the business hours stated on their website. If you’re going to advertise and all that, at least put it on the website that you haven’t opened yet and take off the hours. It’s misleading. Looked cute and may come back again, but less likely after this.

We visited the restaurant before they officially open(invite only). The interior of the restaurant is very unique, there is a dining area and café area with interesting(not sure the theme is) furniture. My guess is that they are for café only people or for those waiting for a dining table. They serve legit Taiwanese food(I am not Taiwanese, but I should be good enough to distinguish what’s legit). Some of the food we ordered are the following: 1.Glutenous rice cake: nicely flavored and good portion for 台湾小吃. 2.Crispy shrimp cake: It’s like Taiwanese quesadilla. Crunchy surface and tasty shrimp inside. 3.Popcorn chicken: good. I liked the grilled(or baked) basil on top. 4.Stinky tofu(it wasn’t that stinky): the tofu sauce was more oily than I had in other restaurants and the oily sauce and fried tofu don’t match well. I am not saying it’s bad. 5.Taiwanese sausage: very good. I wish the slices of garlic was thinner. it might just be a preference. 6.Spicy beef and Tendon Soup noodle: very good broth and the meat was nicely simmered. 7.Railroad porkchop bento: nicely flavored porkchop, but it could be crispier? The combination with other veggies on the bento box was good too. I will order again if you ask. Price range: It was good. Not too high and it is considered reasonable in my eyes. Service: I want to say N/A at this point as the staff was in the training stage and it’s not fair to comment on this aspect. BUT(lol) In terms of the attitude, it was amazing. The staff came to us to check how the food was like. Also keep that in mind that owner is super nice. It’s one of the key factors that people will come back because of her(I think). Even though she seemed super busy talking with the customers, she never forgets to visit our table to check how we are doing. I will definitely come back for other dishes we haven’t tried.

Drove all the way there and sign on the door says they’re not open yet. How about making sure your Unilocal profile is accurate? Waste of time Edit 2÷6÷16 Came by again during stated business hours and told«Sorry, kitchen is closed. They need a break.» That’s totally fine, but state that somewhere. Another trip wasted, but it’s the last time we’ll try.
