Finally!!! A sushi place that’s delicious around here!!! Service is very good… Waters and teas are constantly being refilled. The complimentary string bean tempura is a nice start. They also have a cute slice of pineapple to end your meal as well. The best spider roll here! Hands down! Filling is generous and rice overwhelming the whole roll like at other places. I will definitely be back.

After seeing the amazing photos I couldn’t wait to try it out. Honestly for the quantity and price I’d give this place a 4, the actual fish quality ranges between a 3 and 3.5. However this is the first time I have received service that is not rude but of overall poor quality. I came in on a weekday around 8 p.m. and there was plenty of parking. I had placed a to-go order about 35 minutes before I arrived for a chirashi and a London roll. By the time I arrived my order was still not ready. They were somewhat busy but not too bad. I didn’t mind waiting longer but the employees were unhelpful. I wasn’t sure what was going on with my order and no one was telling me. There was no designated seating area and they didn’t tell me how long I had to wait so I awkwardly stood in the corner. There is a bench area but it is covered in children’s toys and other junk. In general the interior of the restaurant is not very businesslike. It’s not too bad for a casual meal though. As for the food it was definitely quantity over quality. The actual quality wasn’t too bad but not great either. The London roll was pretty good but nothing special. They were very generous with the large salmon slices but it was also drowned in sauce. However the size is very large and one role is enough to fill a person up.(3.5÷5) The chirashi was alright too. For under $ 20 it had a lot of fish. And the slices or fairly large however I would rather have dinner slices and better quality fish. Most of the fish was fairly flavorless but also not fishy. The rice’s seasoning was also alright but the tecthre was good.(3.5÷5) Overall my experience here was alright. The service wasn’t awful but I wish they were at least a bit more helpful. The food was decent especilly for the price

I’ve been to Mioki’s four times now and I can honestly say it has been the best sushi place I’ve been to in the Bay Area. I’ve had sushi from almost every price range and Mioki’s consistency, service and price will always keep me coming back. I’ve had their rolls to go and I’ve eaten inside the restaurant and I’m happy regardless. The fish has never felt frozen or has been out too long. The rice never made me feel like I’ve been cheated of my money either. Management is not fluffy. Cutthroat and to the point. You’re greeted and said good bye to. It’s pretty awesome. To many more happy sushi years together Mioki!!!

I really enjoyed this place and would have given it 5 stars if it weren’t for the sashimi plate. I love sushi and have had sashimi millions of places, and what I can tell you is that 1) sashimi should not be cut so thick and 2) it should also not taste like it just came out of the freezer. On a positive note, the rolls and service were really good. We ordered Mission Hill, Godzilla #2, and Ryan’s roll. The Mission Hill was definitely my favorite. Even though it had the tempura flakes on top, it was still really fresh and light because of the lemon. Overall, I would come here if I were in the mood for rolls but definitely not for the sashimi.

I’ve been craving sushi so we came on a Friday night. We usually visit on Friday’s but lately we been coming on different nights because of the increased popularity. That’s a good thing. I tried the Sushi/Sashimi(L) and it was a real treat. The fish(varied) was so fresh and tasty. It just melted in my mouth… like butter .Ive found a new favorite. The service was superb as usual, from the complimentary green bean appetizer to quick water refills to minimal wait time for our meals. The staff is welcoming, warm and attentive. As usual… we were served a complimentary pineapple desert to top it all off . Fresh fish, tasty dishes, generous portions, attentive service… What more could I ask for ? Nothing ! We had this dining experience tonight. Not surprising…

Guess who’s back, back again? That’s right folks, I’m back at it again with another amazing sushi find, and I’m going to come right out and say it – Mioki Sushi is my favorite yet! ***SPOILER*** There may or may not have been tears shed out of pure happiness when eating a magical item served in this restaurant. If you have been reading my reviews for a while, then you’ll know that ever since I graduated from college and moved back home, I’ve been on the hunt for amazing sushi restaurants close by, because let’s be honest, no one wants to travel more than 30 minutes for their favorite foods. And so I embarked on a year long journey to find the best sushi restaurants in Fremont, and so far I have found a couple stellar places — but my world was forever changed when I found Mioki Sushi. Mioki is fairly small, so don’t be surprised if you have to wait 20 minutes to be seated on any regular evening. But trust me, the wait is worth it. The staff are friendly and attentive, constantly topping off your water or tea, and give great recommendations if you find yourself overwhelmed by the amount of choices Mioki has to offer. I’ve been to Mioki a few times now and have found some stellar, standout dishes, as well as some that are good but not that great and therefore I suggest skipping. The stellar dishes for me are the sushi and sashimi platter, the lollipop roll, and the tear-inducing, mouth-watering, heaven-in-your-mouth Sake Don. Yes folks, the Sake Don brought me to tears because of how amazing it was, and on my scale of 1 to OMGTHISISAMAZING in food rating, happy tears are beyond OMGTHISISAMAZING. Hands down, the Sake Don is one of the best things I’ve ever eaten in my life. A bold statement I know, but hear me out on this. The Sake Don is not a complex dish — in fact it’s quite simple. It is a sashimi bowl of salmon pieces placed on top of sticky rice with a bit of salad on the side for aesthetic appeal. Why I love this dish so much is because the salmon is SOJUICY. It literally melts in your mouth and it needs absolutely no flavoring at all. The sticky rice adds a bit of sweetness to each bite with the salmon and the combination is DELICIOUS. I could eat Sake Don all day, everyday. The sushi and sashimi platter has various sashimi pieces, including salmon, tuna, eel, and some sushi pieces like the California roll. The sashimi is all really fresh and delicious and can be enjoyed on its own as well as with soy sauce and wasabi. The lollipop roll is a baked roll with scallop, and it is incredibly flavorful while the scallop is baked to perfection. A roll that I tried that I didn’t enjoy as much is the double rainbow roll, which is a roll made with assorted fresh fish and has crunchy veggies inside the roll. The fish was fresh of course, but the taste just wasn’t really there with this roll, so I say pass. Mioki Sushi has almost made me want to stop the hunt for amazing sushi, because how can anything be better than this?! Alas, my addiction for sushi is insatiable, so the hunt shall continue, but Mioki is now the one to beat!

Bang for buck forsure! Definitely a hole in the wall spot. The portion sizes are larger than your average roll and all the little details this sushi spot has to offer makes it worth while. Average roll prices are anywhere from $ 11 – 15. Ordered the Hawaii, Crazy, and Panther. The Panther roll was my favorite and had a little kick from the jalapeños that were added. Not the best, but a great spot to check out if you’re in the area and craving. The tempura green beans they offer when you’re seated are addicting. The seaweed salad is unique here because you can add crab, octopus, and one more meat I can’t remember on top.

This is a fairly small restaurant and the seating is pretty tight. We ordered the ½ rainbow roll ½ dragon roll, chicken teriyaki & California roll bento box, and the sake don. Overall, the rolls and chicken teriyaki were average. Nothing too special. I would however recommend the sake don. The salmon is fresh and the serving size is generous. If you enjoy salmon sashimi, you’ll definitely enjoy this dish. Note: they have the biggest water cups I’ve ever seen.

New favorite sushi place! The stamp card only applies to rolls over $ 12 the big bad boy rolls. Plum wine $ 4 not that big, but you can get the large saki for 99 cents during happy hour. Had 3 rolls plus saki and wine for $ 25. I was Content with my-rolls and service. Tv available to watch the game if You just can’t miss the Warriors game

Yeah, not so sure about the ravin’ reviews on this place. We got a lot of different rolls here and spent a good amount of money here and overall, I thought it was just OK. I prefer Satomi Sushi over this place. What’s cool though is that you get complimentary green beans tempura from the start. Of all the rolls we ordered, I enjoyed the Mission Hill. It contained fresh salmon, lemon, crab, avocado, shrimp, tempura flower, and special sauce. It wasn’t even the roll I ordered but I found myself wanting that one all to myself. Normally, I don’t care for lemon or anything citrus in my sushi but it really went well with the other ingredients. Our server convinced us to get Fish Ice Cream which I know sounds weird. She said it was good and after finishing it, well, it was AWRIGHT. I think it had vanilla ice cream and red beans. The dessert just gave me more of a reason not to come back.

A 5-Star rating is rare, for me. But, when an establishment proves, time and again, that it deserves the top marks… I feel compelled to go on and on about how awesome it is. Keep in mind that I never give 5-stars based on a single visit. A restaurant has to show consistency over months for me to even place it on my short list of «possible» 5-Star ratings. Mioki’s has been my kitchen and dining room for the last 7 months. I come at least twice a week. Mioki’s-Chan and her husband Ray have been more than just business owners providing a service to me. They have adopted me as part of their large, extended family and they show their love through the quality and flavour of the food they serve. Mioki’s is NOT your run of the mill«fusion» sushi joint. It’s NOT the typical pseudo-sushi /dim sum /Asian cuisine hipster dive. It’s not a super traditional Japanese restaurant where it’s silent as a tomb and everyone whispers to each other. What it IS, is:(without hyperbole) The Best Sushi I’ve had anywhere. If I were talking about Italian Food, you’d have reason to doubt my assessment. I’m not an Italian food fan or expert. But I know good sushi, and I will go on the record to say Mioki’s serves better quality sushi and sashimi than I’ve had in Japan. Whoever supplies their fish(a closely guarded secret that no serious sushi restaurant would ever reveal, even to a long time patron) provides them the best bluefin, salmon, yellowtail and toro(fatty tuna belly) I’ve ever had. And despite the high quality, Mioki’s is never stingy with the portions they dole out. The slices of toro are thicker than your thumb, longer than your longest finger and amazingly buttery on the palate. Ray serves it with a dipping sauce made of light sesame seed oil and sea salt that perfectly accentuates the flavour of the fish. A single order won’t make you full, but it is rare good ballast for an empty belly. Pair it with any entrée on the menu and you’re sure to be in for a belly-rubbing good time. The cooked menu(which I’ve sampled about 75% of) is likewise brilliant. The many bento boxes have an unbelievable amount of food. No matter what you order, you’re not going to be disappointed. Beef teriyaki, saba(mackerel) shioyaki, shrimp tempura, etc. Nothing has ever been less than excellent. There are some who’ve cited Mioki-Chan’s perceived attitude as being negative… I will stand in her defense. She is a hard working business owner who takes pride in her work. The restaurant is her life. So, if you come in with a disparaging attitude, she’s too busy(and too confident in her establishment) to toady up to you. But, if you treat her with respect, and acknowledge the effort she and her staff put into preparing these amazing meals, you’ll be invited along to an amazing journey. I’m including a random selection of pictures I’ve amassed over the last 7 months. Even these do Mioki’s no justice. You absolutely have to try it in person over a length of time to achieve the level of reverence and respect I have for this wonderful place.

One of the most important thing I look for in sushi restaurants is the quality of their sashimi. If that’s good, then I’m pleased. I came here for lunch with a friend on a Saturday; wait was not bad at all, maybe 15 – 20 minutes? Service was prompt(although sometimes we get missed since the waitresses were so busy running around) and overall pretty okay. We ordered combination bentos(chicken + sashimi + tempura), sake sashimi(which I think was 10 pieces), and Crazy Roll. It was a lot of food, but it was all pretty good. The best thing we got was the sake sashimi, which for $ 18 was pretty worth because the sashimi pieces were so thick and fatty. It was delicious and super fresh. Definitely one of the better places in the Bay for quality sashimi(at least sake sashimi). The bento box wasn’t bad either, the price was pretty good, considering the amount of food that was in the bento. The only underwhelming thing was the roll itself. The topping and fish were good, but the inside(crab meat) was super dry and not flavorful enough. I only ordered one roll, so I don’t know if other rolls are better. Overall it was a pretty good sushi place. They definitely had me at the sashimi. Will be back again

Mioki Sushi was much better than I anticipated! Upon arrival, I saw some pics of the agadashi tofu and it did not look impressive at all, but we didn’t really know where else to eat so we just decided to come in. The tables are sticky, but not dirty btw. The stickiness is from the loss of a top coat lol. We ordered 2 rolls, uni sushi, sake nigiri, negihama roll, and the grilled squid for appetizer. I forgot what the rolls were called but one was similar to a lion king roll and the other one had shrimp tempura and cream chease on the inside and beef slices on the outside. Tbh, it was weird, but my boyfriend ordered it so lol whatever. I loved my uni and salmon and yellowtail rolll. yum yum yum. The salmon was so fatty and fresh and a really good portion. The uni was also very fresh with beautiful coloring. This place was seriously a pleasant surprise. They also had the Warriors game playing and awesome 90s and 2000s pop and r&b playing!(+1 star) Overall great vibes. I know they offer a stamp card thing here, but no one offered to give us one… and I didnt push for one because I don’t eat in the area a lot lot, but if I’m ever here a second time, I’ll prob ask for a card. :)

I have to start off by saying that I absolutely love the huge portions this place offers! My boyfriend is a huge salmon lover & I’m a huge tuna lover so we just had to try out their Sake & Tuna Donburi’s. We came in for lunch & were speechless when the portion of the sashimi for the Donburi’s were really that big! The cuts of the sashimi were very thick which was nice but I personally prefer my sashimi to be cut a little thinner because the thick pieces could get you chewing forever & it’s difficult to eat in one bite. We also ordered the Crazy Monkey Roll, by recommendation from the waitress, & even their rolls are big & topped with thick cuts of sashimi! Despite the generous portions of sashimi, the quality & freshness of the fish was mediocre at best. Overall, you definitely get your money’s worth, in terms of portion. The place is a bit small but the service is very friendly. They also have stamp cards where if you buy 10 rolls(Under $ 12 only, at dinner), you get the 11th for free. They also give you complimentary pineapple at the end of your meal!

This(and maaaaaybe Satomi) is really the only sushi I’ll eat these days, unless someone invites me out elsewhere. The Sake Don — huge chunks of fresh sashimi over rice — is flawless. I’m also a huge fan of their Negihama rolls — simple, delicious. They have fresh fish! That’s all I care about. Even the large questionably authentic — but yummy — rolls are done well here. When my husband and I want to stay in and partake in some Netflix, sushi and chill, that usually involves Lion King, Tony, Decoto and Hawaii rolls. You can tell they’ve been a neighborhood place for a while and that’s what I like about it.

My hubby and I have a favorite sushi spot, but hoping to find another good place, we went to Mioki, a resturant I had bookmarked quite a long time ago. Located in a big plaza with plenty of parking, the establishment wasn’t too crowded so we were able to grab a roomy table the minute we arrived. The walls are painted light green and delicate cherry blossom lanterns hang above each table. I liked the simplistic décor, but the back of the restaurant was cluttered and looked very disorganized. The menu is quite large, but we wanted to stuff ourselves with rolls, so we chose the Lollipop roll which was a baked sushi roll with scallops, and the Crazy roll which had fresh tuna and unagi in a spicy house sauce. The owner had actually recommended those two for us. In fact, we have never encountered an owner who was so active in the service of her restaurant before. She was walking around, checking every table for any problems, and even serving the food. Awesome service! Complimentary green beans tempura were served first and that was honestly such a nice surprise. They were wonderfully golden and crispy, but the green beans were a little bland in flavor. The Crazy roll hit our table next and it was massive! Every piece was covered in a spicy sauce and the pieces of tuna and unagi looked so good. My hubby really enjoyed the crab filling and the sauce, noting the wide depth of flavors. No soy sauce needed here! The Lollipop took a bit longer to be served since it was baked, but the wait was worth it. The scallops were cooked really well and had that soft texture as expected. It was certainly a creamy dish from the mayo, but the rice was never soggy and the flavor wasn’t too heavy either. When we asked for the check, complimentary pineapples were served as dessert! How nice! They were wonderfully sweet and refreshing. We have never been to a place that gave us so much free food before. Overall, Mioki was a great spot for dinner and we are super excited to come back again. Their rolls are amazing!

On my list for the top 3 sushi places in Fremont! This place is pretty small but it has its own charm to it! The service is slow on busy nights, but it’s worth the wait! Expect at least a 30 minute wait on a Friday night. I came at around 7:50 and we got seated around 8:30? I love that they give you a small plate of tempura fried green beans to start you off! Those are delicious! My absolute favorite roll here is their Pookie Roll! Even the name is adorable haha. It’s a tempura roll topped with tempura battered salmon pieces. I personally don’t enjoy raw, but I love salmon, so this was the best of both worlds for me. Love love love. Their portion size is HUGE so althought it was on the pricey side for a roll, I think it was worth it! I also ordered a california hand roll, and dang they really fill it up. They stuff it FULL with that crab. Just look at it! I had to dock on star because of the service. It was slow and the girls had a bit of an attitude with them. I understand having a long day at work, but that’s not an excuse for having poor attitude! Your customers didn’t do anything to you! Overall super great sushi place!

Fish to rice ratio on point! Mioki is one of the best sushi places I’ve had in the bay area for that reason. The other reason is that their fish is fresh and juicy :) We ordered the Sake/Hamachi Don, Ivan’s roll, and Beef teriyaki bento box. The meat to rice ratio on the sake/hamachi don was perfect. They provided fat slices of fresh salmon and hamachi onto a bed of sushi rice. The fish just melts in your mouth. Ivan’s roll, their special, was also amazing. It’s made with real crab meat(none of that imitation crab), and also has fat slices of salmon and tuna sitting on top of the roll. I’ve never been to a sushi restaurant that gives you such a great portion of fish in every order. With their generous portions and excellent customer service, a 5-star rating is a must :)

Im a new fan for Mioki Sushi! It’s sad to say that I’ve been in Fremont for so long and have tried almost every sushi places(good and bad) around the area but this one! Usually, the hidden ones are the good ones. It’s in the same plaza where McDonalds is. Upon arrival, we were seated before the whole restaurant was filled up. Happy Hour applies Mon to Thurs 5−9pm on hot sake, small or large, for $.99 cents! Did I mention beers are also 30% off? The menu: lots of rolls that are common and fried — lots of mayo, sweet sauce, and sriracha on top, you know what I mean. Of course, I’m all for omakase and toro! Ordered the Mori sashimi(chef’s choice) and a couple order of toros — SOOOOGOOD. It just literally melts in your mouth like butter. On my second time here I got a large Mori sashimi, and more toros… please forgive me, my wallet! One thing I didn’t really like is the servers didn’t seem happy to be working there and barely smile. or they were just faking it. I don’t want to be mean, but that’s what I’ve witnessed on my last 2 first visits. My rice came first before my sashimi came after 15 minutes and it was already cold, so was my hot sake… I had to kindly ask to have my hot sake BURNINGHOT. Not a big deal but just the small stuff. This place has potential! *love the free green beans tempura — great for kids alternative to french fries. *they do have stamps program buying 10 rolls get 1 for free *awesome pineapple after your meal!

I called in my order and the person answering the phones was friendly and attentive. My son went to pickup our sushi so I’m not sure how the place is on the inside. He did mention that parking was tight because this place is nestled in a shopping center. There’s a busy Walgreens and McDonald’s nearby among other little stores. San Francisco roll: Cucumber, avocado, deep fried shrimp, crab, soy bean wrap= Simple, yet delicious… this roll was my favorite out of all of them. California roll: Avocado, crab= this was for the kids since they are not a fan of sushi, and they enjoyed this roll. Golden Gate: Fresh Tuna, cucumber, cooked shrimp, tempura flower, crab= The tuna was very fresh and buttery, I enjoyed the shrimp tempura inside the roll. Ryan’s Roll: Salmon, Hamachi, avocado, cucumber, tobiko, green onion= This was also very good= This was my son’s favorite roll, he enjoyed the fresh salmon. The sushi was fresh and presentation was beautiful. Best of all the prices are reasonable! Can’t wait to go back and try more items!
