Delicious Yemeni coffee! I expected black coffee, but tasted a sweet, ginger, Chai like coffee instead. I love ginger teas in winter, this will be great to combat sorethroats.

When it comes to burnables and oils, this place is worth every penny and worth all the hype. Even the gums/resins are of much better quality than most other places I’ve tried.

Oudimentary is one of the most authentic places you can get your special blends of spiced coffee! My favorite has to be the Yemeni Coffee. I have always purchased a cup and it never fails to impress me with the freshness of the herbs used in it. I am usually buying a 4oz bag, which lasts 12 – 15 cups and I only brew it for special occassions. For the $ 10 price tag, it is incredibly worth it. They are generous with how much product is in each bag, so it’s usually more than 4oz per bag. I recently picked up the Moroccan Coffee and it reminded me of what a medium-dark roast would taste like. I have yet to try the Hijazi Coffee.

This was a first visit, and very impressive. The place itself is smallish, but great coffee, and a knowledgeable staff. Coffee, oud, fragrances, incense … it’s all here… Over time, they’ll probably expand to become a larger café, with tables and more comfortable seating. But well worth the visit, even as they are now.

I came in expecting just a nice little coffee, instead got a full on experience. Definitely recommend it.

Can we get the term«oudict» into the dictionary? I know I’m addicted to these scents. Anyone even remotely interested in aromatherapy should go here. Oud is one of those rare oils that has to be experienced. Oudimentary is the best setting to do this. The amazing coffee is just another reason to go back. The folks there know their stuff and given the almost clinical setting make it a lovely experience. However, I would love to see a more relaxed atmosphere as soon as I walk in the door. Cushions, rugs, etc… and I may be there every week.

This place gets 5 stars for hospitality, unique experiences, and tasty beverages, but the total review misses a star for ambience. This is not a typical coffee shop as one might be led to believe. It is in an office complex and isn’t the easiest to identify as your destination. It may in fact be the corporate offices for Oudimentary. The only thing missing to make this a great place to be is a better environment/ambience. The bar seats four and there are some couches outside the room the bar is located, however the florescent lighting and corporate office feel isn’t easy to relax in. I would suggest some different lighting and maybe a couch and coffee table where the bar is. However the person serving is very friendly and there is calming music as well and the nice scent of burning Oud. With that said, I don’t think the goal of Oudimentary’s business is food service as it is an online retailer. However, I am thankful for the outlet that the owners have chosen to make where one can come and experience what Oudimentary has to offer. If you are interested in doing something different, quiet and enjoyable… visit Oudimentary.

I feel privileged to have been here. I was welcomed into what many would call their home, inclusive of everyone. This was my first experience with oud, a wood used for burning and revealing its fragrance. Oud is also called aloeswood and can be found referenced as such in some biblical texts. Its scents are more than exotic; they are grounding. I had some High Mountain Oolong tea. The Oolong was lush, semi-fruity and hinted the scents of vegetation in fog. I have to end with why I started this review the way I did. The people here are wonderful and make this place a gem. When you come here, you are not just a customer, but you are respected.

Awesome coffee and oud and even better hospitality. Oud bar is first of its kind and not to be missed! The unique Yemini coffee cannot be found elsewhere in the Bay Area! You won’t regret the visit.

One of my favorite businesses in the Bay Area period. So happy to see the Oud bar open. Where else can you get excellent pour over coffee in Fremont? Where else can you get Yemini coffee made with Ginger and Cardomon? Very few places in the US, Excellent. But the big kicker is of course the Oud. Travel anywhere in the Middle East and you get mostly the same stock of watered down oils and waxed woods. Oudimentary sources from all over the world in a way similar to some Bay Area coffee roasters — through on the ground relationships, direct trade and micro lots the quality of which you would be hard pressed to find anywhere outside of South Asia. If you don’t know what Oud is — YOUMUSTLEARN. As they say, «Don’t hate, Fumigate!»
