This is a great place. My Son’e small bike had lots of issues. Bike Chain was broken, brakes were not proper and so on. I was thinking that it will cost me a huge sum. Thanks to the sales person from Bicycle Garage, not only did he fix it in quick go(also cost was very less below %10) but also he advised with various steps on how to maintain the same. I was impressed by their customer service.

Love this place and it’s service. For off let me say, the employees aren’t commission based. I asked, due to wanting to stick with the informative guy I was dealing with. They have a bunch of choices in bikes, I came shopping for a hybrid road bike for myself and husband. Let me resay this, I was browsing for some. Wasn’t looking to buy, yet. The employees will check in on u but don’t bombard u with information unless asked. They let you take the bikes out and try them in store or in their large parking lot and don’t treat you like you would potentially steal their product. They trust. Once I sort if knew what I was most interested in the employee came over adjusted the bike for my height, we discussed many different options in bikes and prices. SUPERHELPFUL I came in not knowing much about the bike I wanted and by the end if it all knew just what I wanted. They do interest free financing and that’s when I settled to buy. Check out was easy. U get tuneups for life free. We walked out with 2 amazing bikes and super pleased with our purchase. Came back after a few hundred miles for a tuneup on both bikes(had to drop them off for a few days) and even had them install some upgrades. Prices are great. We shopped all over Hayward, Castro valley, Fremont, Dublin, San Ramon, and they had the most options, best deal, and amazing staff! Thanks guys, all of you. I recommend you to a lot of people. So glad I walked in that day.

My one-stop bike shop. What’s not to like? – Great selection of bikes if you’re looking for a new one – Competent, knowledgeable, friendly people – Bicycling gear and accessories? You bet! If you need it, they probably have it. – Bike clothes, of course… helmets, gloves I’ve been a customer of the Bicycle Garage since it was in its first location on Fremont Blvd years ago. These guys know what they’re doing. They don’t try to up-sell you — they ask what you need, make recommendations(good ones, I might add) if asked and explain things beautifully. I bought my current bike there a few years ago and brought it in yesterday for a new seat, general inspection and tuneup. Turns out, since I bought it from them… the tuneup is free. How’s that for a great place to start? I’d like to add honest treatment of customers and reasonable prices. I knew I needed brakes and grips on the handlebars as well as the seat, though I didn’t mention that to Fred when it was brought in. Got a call from Malcolm to tell me the general shape my bike is in(pretty good, he said) and that he thought I could use new brakes and grips. He gave me the pricing(very reasonable) and said it’s going to ready when they promised it. Happy dance!

In stark contrast to the other bike shop I reviewed earlier on Unilocal, the Bicycle Garage is actually competent at building wheels and doing other mechanical work. No idea where the bad reviews come from. Everything I have taken in for work has been done correctly and on time.

We moved to Fremont a few months ago along the alameda creek, the perfect place to ride a bike. While shopping for a bicycle we found The Bicycle Garage. They had a large inventory with a wide range of prices for us to shop. We ended up buying 2 bikes and the staff was very helpful. I think everyone working there asked me at least once if I needed help. We wanted to say a special thanks to Chase for helping us pick out our new bikes !

The customer service was excellent! I walked into this shop for the first time in over 5 years. I had purchased a specialized comfort bike but never road it(my son putted around on most the time) I knew the bike came with lifetime tune-ups, but I wasn’t sure how they would respond. As soon as I walked in, Fred said hi and asked how he could help. I told him I would like a tune-up and he said no problem. He had to re-enter me in their system because it had been so long. I told him I was unhappy with the position of the handlebars and that I was a beginner. He took over 20 minutes explaining my options, adjusting my bike and showing me two other bikes in the shop, including helmets(which I need). I was impressed with his service and there were plenty of Staff on-hand to support all the folks that came in(on Saturday). If you need advise it help, this is the place. Thanks Fred !!!

I’m not sure how the employees at bicycle garage decide who they will help and who they ignore/insult, but I seem to be in the second group for some reason. I really like to support bike shops and know that there is not much profit in this business, but taking the the time to find out what a customer needs and responding with information rather than attitude goes a long way. I am a major bike enthusiast and enjoy learning about bike upkeep and the latest equipment, but I will be taking my enthusiasm and my money elsewhere!

The Bike Shop has a little bit of everything focused on mostly the middle, and low end cost buyer. Yeah, they have some Gucci stuff but not much. Fred the Owner does great work. Service prices are good and always done when promised. 5 stars for service, 3 for everything else.

I’m not quite sure how this place gets such bad reviews. I haven’t been on a bike in 20 years, but wanted to start riding as an overall lifestyle change after losing 70 lbs. On our first visit, Scott(easy enough to remember since that is also my name) was very patient and gave thoughtful answers as he tried to find a bike that would be suitable for my atypical needs. High pressure sales are an instant turn off, but I never felt rushed or pressured/guilted when I left that day without making a purchase. He took my info and told me he’d call when I could trial another bike that was being currently being built. The shop called to let me know it was done. When I went in Scott was there on his day off, took the time to answer a couple of questions, then got me set up with another employee that was just as knowledgable and low pressure. This guy took the time to actually teach me about HOW to ride bikes that were much more advanced than I had experienced before. Again…I walked out without making a decision or purchase but I am definitely SOLD. I will definitely be buying from this shop. These guys seemed more interested in selling me on the biking lifestyle and not just selling me a bike. It’s just a bonus that I’ll be supporting a local shop and get lifetime tuneups once I’m finally in the saddle(who knew it’s not called a seat anymore?!?)

I have been a highly satisfied customer of The Bicycle Garage since it opened, having purchased two road and two mountain bikes there. You can definitely count on Fred and his staff for knowledgeable, straightforward advice and service. The Bicycle Garage offers FREE lifetime tune ups for any bike you buy from them. Here’s a recent example of their great service: Recently, I discovered that the carbon fiber chainstay on my road bike was cracked. The manufacturer determined that the damage was not covered under warranty, so Fred arranged to have it repaired by Joe’s Carbon Solutions in Watsonville. Fred even drove my bike to and from Watsonville and negotiated a discount from Joe’s. The expert repair and repainting were undetectable, and the looks and rides as good as new. The Bicycle Garage even waived their fee for disassembling and reassembling the bike. Talk about going above and beyond!

My boyfriend and I do not know much about bikes yet. We are still learning :) However, we have been researching more and more because we want to buy the perfect bikes, especially if we are going to pay a lot for them. We walked into The Bicycle Garage since it was next door to the place we usually get frozen yogurt(Menchie’s) and immediately, we were greeted by one of the employees who was at the cash register. She asked us if we were looking for anything in particular and told us to ask her for help if we had any questions. She also introduced herself and made sure we knew her name, which is always important. The selection/variety is pretty cool — we loved looking around and comparing the bikes. Though we did not walk out of there with a brand new bike, we still appreciated the customer service and loved the layout of the store. We will definitely be back after a bit more researching :)
