Adobo panini was really good. The place has a really nice charm and the owner is really nice. They try to buy all fresh and local and we can buy locally too by going to this great little café.

Great for a quick pick-me up to get your day started when you are on the go and need a quick bite. Definitely not a hot plate go to, but for a quick snack it is perfect. If you are in the area and need a quick bite definitely something to check out. One step above the mainstream coffee joints.

This place has always been a winner. Last time I had the Island Delight. It was extremely tasty and filling. I came back and had the adobo panini. The pork was cooked just right. Tender. Juicy. My iced coffee was done perfect. Tastes like real coffee. That may sound silly but real coffee drinkers know what I mean. I want to taste the coffee. The service is excellent. Friendly. Professional. Sanitary. I recommend this place. Bring your children because it has a great atmosphere. It’s next to the train station so kids see trains come and go. The have toys to occupy your child that are train themed. Such a great idea. The man working the counter actually asked me if the hot chocolates should be «kid hot». Awesome! One suggestion. .pork adobo should be a meat option on all the sandwiches and the breakfast items. I love it.

They are under new management as of a few months or so? Maybe a year tops? Family run establishment. Love the egg and ham croissant sandwiches even if I can’t spell it and Unilocal does not seem to have a spell check. Anyway, great prices great food. LOVETHE MOCHAs too! I asked him to make me a peppermint one like the ones at starbucks and it was way better than starbucks of course. This place is always cozy and welcoming and feels like home. I highly recommend it for breakfast for sure. I still need to try lunch and dinner here!!!

The food is awesome over here! It’s kind of a hidden gem located right by the train station. I think there was a change in ownership, but nonetheless they produce some really good food. It is definitely worth giving it a try. So far I’ve had a great experience both of the times that I’ve gone here!

On Saturday morning May 29, 1909 the first Steam-powered passenger train into Centerville received a hearty welcome. A cannon was fired, the locomotive was decorated with flags, and the train crew was presented with Centerville’s choicest fruits and flowers. We arrived here by car on Friday morning September 18, 2015 about 10:00AM it was a sunny day and the station was quite there were no celebrations, they didn’t fire the cannon, but from the outside the depot appeared much as it did more than 106 years earlier. As we climbed the steps and opened the door and stepped into the depot diner we noticed a few locals were having coffee at one table and a few more were discussing business at another it seemed all to familiar. We were greeted by a member of the friendly staff working behind the counter. She pointed to the self serve coffee counter and went over a few of their specials making sure we took note to the fact that everything was freshly prepared and they baked the fresh croissants daily. After pouring our coffee we decided that we’d both try one of the homemade croissants with a scrambled egg and ham served with a cup of fruit. As we waited on our breakfast it was impossible not to stare at the décor and the renovations that took place more than a decade earlier restoring this working train depot back to its original beauty. This place oozes history if you let your imagination go you can almost hear the thousands of haunting voices of the bustling passengers from the past who came through this historic way station. I wondered through the station and walked the platform and viewed the track hoping a train would approach to add to the excitement but the trains here don’t always follow the schedule so I wasn’t able to get the full experience I had hoped for… on the other hand a modern locomotive may have ruined my fantasy of seeing the old locomotive’s steam being exhausted as the trains pulls into the station and missed the cry of the ghostly conductor yell«all aboard». As the short stop ends and the train departs our journey also ends and although our imaginary itineraries never really crossed you have to wonder if this was reality or was it from another dimension a dimension so remote it mimics another time that is only interrupted daily by the fragrance of the food served here by the same polite server or descendant that consistently has been serving passengers for decades, it appears the food and service is always exceptional but all too predictable everything is priced reasonable as it has been from the 29th day of May in 1909. We were very happy with the entire dining experience or just the experience either or both it doesn’t matter our journey here doesn’t define in true fashion how great this place really is, so unless you experience it for yourself you’ll always wonder is this reality or have I just entered the twilight zone in a small remote town where life is simpler and develops slower, a place in time we should all take refuge in at times…

Breakfast sandwich was homemade and straight up yummy. Coffee is good(and strong!). The scene is cool with the traintracks right outside and the train theme inside. I’m deducting a star because $ 8 seemed pricey since I didn’t get a fancy espresso drink. Also, they could benefit by chatting with the customers to give a more personal feel. I was the only customer, sitting at the counter and there was zero interaction with the guy up front.

No matter how shitty I feel or bad mood I’m in — when I walk into The Depot and am greeted by the friendly owner Ana or one of her cheerful staff, my mood instantly changes!

This place is so adorable!(: I went right after my class to study for the class I just left haha, I was created by some really nice workers(the owner maybe?) and obviously, I immediately asked for the wifi password! Good wifi connection is always a plus at any café, and they definitely have that plus! I had the hot chocolate because I’m terrible with coffee, and it was so delicious! It was served in a really cool mug too.(This place will probably be heaven for all of you instagram foodies) –1 star though because it was a little hard to find parking since it is at the amtrak station, but honestly, you could always park at the taco bell down the block lol

This is my first trip up to Nor Cal and so far it’s been AMAZING! Yesterday my boyfriend and I went out to breakfast before we traveled to San Francisco for the day. Now, see, this is why I love Unilocal(a review in a review: awesome!) I literally make my decision 20% off reviews and 80% off the pictures people post. Is the diner cute? Does the food look like food? It’s just the way I operate. Well I found this spot on Unilocal and looked through the pictures. One picture caught my eye: iced coffee in a glass mug or as we call it in my house, frosty mugs(my bf normally puts them in the freezer and drinks beer out of these types of mugs e.g. Frosty mugs!) since it was near the BART station we needed to go to it was perfect. This place is attached to the Amtrak and has the cutest décor! Old coca cola décor everywhere with Thomas the trains for the kids to play with and mostly family style seating with a few 2 tops and bar seating. The minute we walked in there was a guy at the front and we asked how things worked and he said seat our selves and he’ll come take out order. I don’t think that’s how things USUALLY work but it was slow so I think he was feeling extra nice. Haha we got out coffees in frosty mugs(which are made to perfection!) I got an extra shot in mine and idk how you north cal people drink coffee but he was warning me about how strong the coffee would be. I’m from long beach guy, this is wimpy stuff. Haha we ordered food: waffles, eggs and bacon for me and the island special with spam for my boyfriend. I happened to look back while looking around and the poor lady was cooking on the babiest of burners I’ve ever seen! Even the bf noticed. It didn’t matter tho because the food that came off those burners was pure magical heaven in my mouth! The cook, who I think was possibly the owner or manager? Came and asked how everything was when she was collecting our plates and I HAD to tell her I saw here and she’s working magic! She said since the building was so old they can’t have a real stove so she’s gotta make due. MAGIC! I swear. Haha every since person we met was amazing and sweet. This place has a very local/small town feel to it and makes you feel very at home! I highly highly recommend this place if you’re ever here!

We had breakfast here for the first time. My ham, egg and cheese English muffin breakfast sandwich was nice and hot and also had some spinach in it which added to it. I liked the coffee and got a free refill also. The prices were fine, and the service was friendly and we got our food quickly which was great. The owner talked with us for a few minutes once she realized we were new to the Depot and told us about a few new Filipino dishes that should be on the menu soon. It is a warm and comfortable family owned and operated Café that is worth going back to.

I love cafes that serve good hot food as well as pastries and The Depot does that! I purchased a Unilocal Deal for my self and gave one to my husband as a gift, and we were not disappointed by the food and drink we purchased with our deal. I had the Island Delight Special with the Pork Sausage with a cup of coffee. The Island Delight special comes with rice, 2 eggs, a tomato and cucumber salad, and 2 Filipino-style sweet sausage. I loved the sausage! It was skinless, and had a nice balance of tang and sweet. It wasn’t too salty, and as the business owner explained, was made by a friend of hers. I could tell that it was a freshly made sausage. The eggs were perfectly cooked, and the tomato and cucumber salad also went well with the sausage. I would definitely ordered this special again! It’s hearty and will set you on your day right. It’s a bargain at $ 7.95. My husband had the Sunrise Sandwich with Bacon. Eggs, bacon, cheese and spinach were sandwiched between English muffin slices. The sandwich came to our table hot, and my husband really enjoyed the flavors. The bacon was really crispy and the addition of the spinach was excellent. They serve Equator coffee, so their coffee is good. It is not bitter like Starbuck’s, so I could drink it without any additives, just the way I like my coffee. You can also order espresso drinks. Inside it’s homey and comfortable, and outside you can enjoy the sunshine. They have many tables and chairs outside, and I imagine this place is bustling when the weather is nice. We will definitely be back! They have Carne Asada Fries and Paninis, so I will be trying those next time!

Depot coffee is on the ACE and Caltrain station where I take my morning train to work. They have a delightful environment and is one of the few dinning places we can enjoy outdoor seating with our pup. Today, their Sunrise bacon bagel is as good as always and the chicken sausage with Island D-lite is DELICIOUS! They offer free Wifi and is usually quiet. So it’s a good place for afternoon reading to get away from the crowds in the nearby Suju’s coffee.

Few things make me happier in the morning than a nice cup of strong and delicious coffee. Add that in with an adorable retro ambience and an extremely friendly owner, and you’ve got a perfect recipe to make my mornings brighter. I can’t believe that I’ve lived in the Fremont/Newark area for my entire life and never knew that The Depot Café existed. They’ve been open for 15 years. FIFTEENYEARS. I could have been drinking this delicious coffee for the past fifteen years(okay, maybe not the entire fifteen because I would have been in elementary school… but you get the point). They brew high quality Equator coffee for all of their coffee drinks, but my favorite is the iced coffee. Creamy, sweet, and smooth with a bold burst of coffee flavor. Of course, if you don’t like all of that fluff in your coffee, they’ll be more than happy to oblige and make it how you want. The owner, Ana, will always greet you with a giant smile and make you feel like you’re visiting her house for refreshments. She’s extremely welcoming and won’t be afraid to strike up a conversation with you about your life and likewise share about hers. The décor inside is very cute and retro. They advertise themselves as a diner, so I can sense that 50s diner vibe when I look around at the decorations. I haven’t tried the food yet, but I hear that it’s also drool-worthy! This is exactly the kind of neighborhood café that I’ve been searching for in this area. I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to find it. Unfortunately, this place can get overshadowed because it’s right next to the Centerville Amtrak/ACE station. But don’t let that steer you away! Parking is plentiful, and there’s a lot of open seating. Grab a cup of coffee and relax inside at the tables, counter, or outside on the patio while you work(wifi is available!) or read a good book :)
