Great place for lunch, particularly in the patio. We have had the Vine Burger, the Corned Beef Press, the Frisco Press, garlic fries, and the sweet potato tater tots. All were well prepared and very tasty. They also have a nice choice of local craft beers that go well with any thing on the menu. The service is very good and you are not rushed through your meal. There is a fire pit that is lit in the evening that adds to the relaxing feel of the patio. This is one of our go to places when we want a good, relaxing lunch.

Apparently today(Super Bowl eve + big Dubs game) wasn’t the best day to try and hop on BART. So we thought we’d be local and go to The Vine. Not impressed at all. I’ll start with the good. Our hostess/waitress was fantastic — attentive, cordial and friendly throughout. And we had some sweet potato tots which were quite good, I’d be happy to eat them anywhere. That’s all for the good though. Upon arriving, we opted to try the patio area which is self seating. Which would be fine, except that we were ignored by the staff(one staff member walked by us at least 3x to address the people behind us) there which led us to get up and go back inside, where our wonderful hostess/waitress sat us down quickly. The food seemed to take an inordinate amount of time considering there wasn’t a ton of people there(around 5PM). Then the let down with the food. The fish in my fish and chips didn’t taste seasoned at all. My fiancée’s corned beef(in a sandwich) was a bit dryish and just so-so. I was excited to come here after hearing good things, but I can’t see myself going back.

Nice date place. Brie and ham sammy was good, I think I would have appreciated a bit more savory taste, with the jam there was a lot of sweet going on. Burger looked amazing. Sweet potato tots were heavenly. Nicely priced wines, and beautiful cover and heated patio. Next time I will bring lando.

I’ve been to the The Vine a couple times with my family. We always love the battered up fried bacon with the tasty maple syrup… the real maple syrup that comes from maple trees, its way better than the brown stuff in the plastic bottles… that most people prefer, but you most people are flippin crazy. There is only one thing to complain about The Vine, and that is the seating. The seating is doable when its just the two of us… but can be a little crazy if you have a little one in the group. Other than that don’t complain about the wait, or the tables… if you are waiting for food then it ought to be good. If your one of those people that wait outside 20 – 30 minutes for Denny’s on Mowry right there, then stay at Denny’s and don’t give this place a negative because your comparing it to Denny’s. In Fremont/Newark The Vine is one of few unique places that provide a nice eating experience. The food is spot on yummy, the beer selection is great, and the staff is super chill but can get hustling when need to be… So freaking chillax! So for seating you have two options outside patio/bar where they will give you blankets if you get cold, and after your meal you can sit by the fire pit they have, just ask them to turn it on if you want it on and its off ;). The other seating option is inside… just like Gma’s dining room. Its comforting get used to it. Some people say the service is hit or miss… doesn’t that go with everywhere else… Sometimes you just cant win them all. But you have to stop and think to run a restaurant like this where fresh seasonal ingredients are used… nothing comes out of a bag or a box… All food is made with quality its location is not San Francisco… I mean come on this place is GREAT! But personally for me, I do not like to be rushed when I go out to eat, I like to take a moment, and soak up the atmosphere… have a conversation with my family, and enjoy the time, and eat in peace. So whats the rush? Now onto the food: BRUNCH/BREAKFAST The battered bacon is to die for — America Boo-Ya January’s season menu REALBRUNCHISTYPICALLYONSUNDAY’S FOLKS, and that goes with most places Pig & Goat Platter — YUM! Chicken Fried Steak — YUM! Biscuits & Gravy — YUM! The Morning After«Burger — YUM! LINNER: Cornmeal Fried Chicken Local Rock Cod ‘Fish & Chips’ They had another item on the smal bites that I don’t see anymore, but it was a crab and artichoke dip The Grilled Ham Hush Puppies Tempura Fried Green Beans All of the items listed above exceeded my standards of food quality… NOTQUANTITY The portions were nicely sized… you can walk, not roll out of there feeling pretty good. The food came cleanly cooked not greasy or dirty tasting, tasted fresh, and perfectly seasoned. The drink selections are always a pleaser, they have a great selection of beers containing micro/local breweries on TAP. Now why did I not give this place 5 stars… The seating… I love the atmosphere and the whole restaurant, but it takes work to maneuver through their with kids and large groups. I think if they re-did the dining area inside to make it a little pleasing to maneuver around in and allow people some breathing room when eating inside, break down the hallway ways and open it up… people would be impressed by the space that they have, and probably feel a little more comfortable dining in. But overall great place and I hope it continues to stay in business. We need more of a variety other than chains, asian restaurants/buffets, sushi joints, indian restos dont get me wrong I love all food but give us a variety Fremont/Newark…Please start attracting upcoming homemade restaurant business owners that we are in desperate need of these types of eating establishments.

We go here every other wednesday. But also in between sometimes. Love the patio and the atmosphere there. Waiters and waitresses are always friendly and helpfull! Food is great! prices are according to the quality of the food! We would like to see some new items on the menu or a complete new menu, but that is also because we come there so often! And we won’t stop coming!

Did this place change owners recently? I used to think this place was worth 4 – 5 stars but now… Well let’s just say I don’t think this is my «go to» brunch spot anymore. My group on 8 came in today around 9:45. Of course we had to wait but you want me to wait in front of the restaurant as if I was trying to get into a club?! Just because your workers aren’t taking down names… I don’t get it?! We told the girl we would wait at the fire pit cause there’s no way I’m standing to wait for a table. We got seated probably 30 – 45 minutes later. The waitress was so soft spoken I didn’t even know she came to our table to take our order. I think we ignored her the first time. Wait time for food was about 20 – 30 minutes which is a little longer then expected. We ordered the corned beef and Nutella French toast. The plate size weren’t as big as before and serving was so small. Drinks were made from soju so that threw me off… Overall I definitely won’t be coming back her for brunch. It’s cute to hangout with friends but breakfast wasn’t anything spectacular.

The food was decent, but the plates were smaller than the usual American brunch. The price is acceptable. Why only 2 stars? After waiting in line for about 20 minutes, we were asked if we would take a table outdoors. It was in the back yard, quite homey with a small fire-pit at the center. It was cold, though. My husband ordered hot coffee. My son and I don’t drink coffee, and I have to avoid sweet, so we asked for hot water. The waitress brought out a large pitcher of cold water with ice floating on top. I thought she forgot that we had asked for hot water, so I reminded her, but she said, «yes, it is hot water.» «But do you see the ice floating on top?» «Yes, only a few pieces. The water is hot.»(Does this even make sense?) «Would you please feel the pitcher?»(It’s icy cold). She felt it, and agreed to bring us another pitcher(unpleasantly). This time, the water was barely above room temperature, clouded with fine bubbles, and tasted terrible :(((Not even sure if it’s safe to drink, I ordered a peach juice for my son and an orange juice for myself. Menu said Odwalla OJ $ 3 for 8oz, but she brought out 6 oz. How did I know? Because the jar-like glass had an oz-meter on it. 2 stars: for the decent food and the cute little backyard

AH-MAZING brunch. Food quality and menu is one of the best in the tri-city area. HOWEVER: Nearly everything else about The Vine is sub par. Lines are long. Expect an average wait time during the weekend of half an hour. Seating is scarce as well as uncomfortably tiny. My party of three shared a table that was the size of my bedside nightstand – I could barely justify that size of table for one person. Wait staff is amateur, slow and forgetful. I’d recommend ordering as SOON as you encounter your waiter or else you’ll probably be sitting around for at least 15 minutes before they remember to come back and ask. Food is on point. There really are no complaints with the menu whatsoever. If The Vine would improve the quality of their dining experience, I’d be a regular.

I’ve been here on a couple of occasions, and it’s been a hit or miss every time. In regards to service, servers more than often seem slow bringing out our orders or taking it for that matter. Sunday brunches are especially busy, so it is understandable if service is slower than usual, but they seem to be superrrrr slow and unattentive. Food is always amazing though, it’s hard to find hearty and flavorful food in Fremont, but this is the place to go for that!

We arrived as soon as the place was open on Saturday for brunch. Except, brunch is only served on Sunday. We then looked for appetizers; chicken wings, but they were out of chicken. So we asked if they had fries … which they did but it wasn’t on the menu. For our main dish, we ordered the kid’s grilled cheese. For someone who did not have breakfast, I was NOT looking to fill myself up on pork & beef. Grilled cheese just sounded right– tasted average. The sweet potato tater tots were amazing. I was hesitant at first but they were delicious. Drinks–«mom”-osas were great, the best part about this joint. The backyard patio was also nice and cozy … and really cold. They offered blankets which was thoughtful. Overall, the service was fantastic. Our waiter was super sweet and tried her best to help us out as we were expecting a brunch menu. The food was mediocre. Nothing to really rave about or try again.

Big fan of the open space back patio for brunch seating. However, it can get a little cold during the winter times. On the upside: the staff was accommodating on relocating to a table that was closer by the fire pit(that or bundle up), Food was decent for the $. The highlight was the sweet potato tater totes. At the suggestion of our waitress, we upgraded to a pitcher of guava mama(only a few dollars more) — but that turned out to be too much for a party of 2. Will be back — presumably when it’ll be warmer outside.

So this is the second time I’ve ever been to this restaurant. And so far my impression of this venue hasn’t changed. Luckily it’s a good one. I love the food here and brunch has always been great. The atmosphere is comforting and cozy, not to mention the heated open patio in the back. I ordered sweet potato tater tots(provided with candied bacon aioli) which was absolutely delicious as an appetizer. For the big bites, my friend ordered the Frenched Pork Loin and I got the Smoked Salmon BLT. Both for good but I definitely recommend the pork loin. That dish is going to be my «go to» meal every time I come backs These big bites are good portions and definitely filling enough for lunch. For service, it was good. People were friendly and talkative but the only downside was that it was a bit slow. Sometimes they would miss when we tried to call them over for our check. Other than that, I love this place.

Loved the Nutella french toast and chilaquiles. It’s in the old town side and the lane had a charm! It looks very small when you enter but go inside and try the casual and fun patio set up. Our server was very energetic and nice! Going back soon.

My girlfriends and I had brunch here Sunday morning. There were about 10 of us and they didn’t have a hard time seating or accommodating us in the back outdoor patio area. The tables and chairs are iron outdoor furniture, nothing fancy but I have a «thing» for outdoor area’s and there is a space that is a nice picture spot. The menu’s are presented two-hole-punched inside legal file folders. At first I thought I accidentally went to work or brought my work with me. I don’t know why the menu’s are office-themed-looking in an outdoor theme but whatever. As for the alcoholic beverages they were very fruity, light and just the way girls like to drink for brunch. As for the food, it was just OK. I expected more in terms of flavor and portion. The country-fried steak is served with a bechamel and is really bland. taste just like the flour roux it was conceived from. The nutella french toast looked delicious but once again, portions are tiny so you can’t enjoy it for a long time because it’s gone before you know it. Prices are a big on the high side considering the portions are teeny-tiny(do not plan to have enough to share or for to-go), but the presentation and the outdoor setting is pretty. I would probably come back here again only because I like pretty food and pretty outdoor settings, not because the food was spectacular or anything. We’ll see…

I finally got to eat at Vine! My cousin led us straight out the back exit to the beautiful outdoor patio illuminated by strung lights, a warm red glow from the fire pit, and some green lighting highlighting a palm tree. We kind of interrupted the end of a couple’s date since we needed seating for 5 and they occupied a roomy wooden picnic bench. We did them a favor, our waitress, Shauna, led them to two cozy seats right in front of the fire pit. How romantic. Shauna was very upbeat, friendly, treated us like regulars, read our minds and moved the umbrella back when it started to sprinkle. She apologized for not bringing out our guava mommas(sparkling white wine with guava juice & mint) earlier. Now I know why they’re so popular! They’re light, not sour, and refreshing with a few chopped mint leaves. 3 of us ordered vine burgers, mine tasted kind of burned though, ciabatta bread was good and the meat soft. Arugula! Vinaigrette Salad dressing wasn’t too sour, also light. Sweet potato tater tots were chewier than expected, candied bacon aioli thicker than I thought. We got two orders of this, thinking one wouldn’t satisfy our taste buds. Lots of crab in the crab and artichoke dip! The fish and chips had too much overly fried batter. No complaints about the salmon over salad. I can’t wait to go for weekend brunch! I really want to try the Nutella French toast. So I discovered the patio menu is slightly different from the indoor menu. The majority is small plates/apps, sammies, and a few entrees for the patio on the back page. The middle two pages are all drinks! Catch up with friends or spend time outdoors with a someone special.

The Vine is overrated and overhyped. I’ve been here for both brunch and dinner and both times I was very disappointed by the quality of the food. I’m not sure why there are always long lines for brunch. If you come for dinner on a weekday, you won’t have to wait for a table. The only good things about this place are the service, ambience, and the guava mama drink but that’s not enough to bring me back. Brunch: Smoked salmon eggs benedict– The potatoes that came with my eggs benedict were good, but the eggs benedict/salmon were just average. Steak and eggs– I liked the steak and eggs more, but the steak was overcooked. I asked for medium rare and the first time it came out well done, so I told the waiter and they brought me out a new dish. The second time, it was a little better but still overcooked. Dinner: Crab and Artichoke Dip– The dip was just okay. There was nothing special about it. The chips that came with the dip weren’t very good. Frenched Pork Loin– part of my pork chop was undercooked so I tried to eat around it but my stomach didn’t feel well after dinner. There was nothing special about this dish that made it worth the $ 17. Cornmeal Fried Chicken– this dish was also just meh. I think the waffles were meant to be more savory than sweet, but they lacked flavor and didn’t add anything to the dish. The fried chicken was very average. Chocolate Mousse Cake– I’ve definitely had better. I would recommend skipping dessert. I like rich decadent chocolate cakes and this one just didn’t do it for me. Overall the food is below average and left me wanting something more. I will definitely not be coming back.

The Ambiance… is good. The feel is like you’re in Sf in the mission at one of the manny hipster joints. Outside there is a bar and additional outdoor seating. The Alcohol… pretty big selections of unique mixed drinks, cup or pitchers(if you order a pitcher it’s like 4 glasses for the price of 3. Win !!) I didn’t drink this time but next time I will! The Food… The food took around 20 mins to arrive and when it did I noticed my poached eggs were cooked like boiled eggs. Way overdone. My friend and I both had to send our eggs back and it took 10 minutes to get replacements. My food had gotten cold waiting. Once I finally started digging into my smoked salmon bruschetta I noticed the smoked salmon was soooooo over salted ! It was like I was sucking on some salt crystals. I couldn’t even eat have even with the bread egg and potatoes in one bite to dilute the salt. The girls got the crab and artichoke tostada and French toast with Nutella. I didn’t find any issues with those dishes, and the tostada was pretty tasty. This place almost is a 4, sadly some small Things bring down the rating, the initial wait of the food, food replacement and the smoked salmon saltiness. Hopefully someone reads this and makes this place the 4 that it should be. I’ll be back . The wait. Waited an hour and arrived at 11am with a party of 3.

I’m kind of obsessed with this place. The wait really varies, but it’s generally around an hour for a table. Yesterday we got here around 10:45, and instead of waiting for a table we opted to sit at the bar. When you do have to wait, you can walk down the street to the unimposing hipster coffee shop just a block away. My first visit here I got the open faced breakfast sandwich, which was divine. The potato croquette is a good alternative to traditional potatoes. Yesterday I got the salmon bruschetta, but it took me about 15 minutes to decide both times because everything on the menu looks delectable – next time I’m getting the tostada. When I went yesterday we got to sit on the back patio, which is WAY cooler than the inside. The bartender gave me a generous tasting of the passionfruit mint sake sangria, and I quickly decided I NEEDED a glass of it. If they had a pitcher I would get that too. We also tried the tempura bacon, which was a little much for me, but the guys seemed to enjoy it. The only hiccup with The Vine was that during my last visit, I found a hair in my salmon bruschetta. Generally, I don’t expect things to be given to me for free, but if I find a long hair in my food, any restaurant would make sure the customer is compensated appropriately. Despite that, I completely demolished my fresh plate, after careful examination for anymore pieces of someone’s weave.

My brother raves about the Vine in the Niles area of Fremont. They usually visit for breakfast and lunch The menu is not very large, the wine list must be larger. They offered breakfast menu, chicken, burgers and some fish specials. My brother normally orders the burger or the special. I ordered the chicken and waffles which my brother has ordered. I was disappointed about the amount of chicken, what happened to the second piece. Plus the waffle had this rosemary sage taste to it. Fried chicken with a Belgium waffle, that is what the customer wants to see. Please check out the picture. We waited for the food order a long time, thank goodness we ordered the chicken wing appetizer to hold us over. Mind you it was Three in the afternoon. The chocolate mousse dessert was very good. Please improve the food processing time so you can achieve the four stars.

This is a cute little place that has been in my backyard for years & I never knew. Lol. Arrived & put my name on the list for 2. They said it would be around an hour wait but since it was only the two of us, it would probably be faster. My friend & I came around 12:30pm. Waited about 10mins until we got patio seating! It was so cute & antique & gave a mellow vibe. Reminds me of those diners on television where a group of friends would chill at. We had a very helpful waiter! I ordered the corned beef, which came with potatoes, two sunny side up eggs, salad & a biscuit. We tried the orange marmalade on the biscuit & it was so good! The corned beef was good, it wasn’t oily. Salad needed a bit more dressing. Eggs were perfect to my liking. I also got a glass of the guava mama! Couldn’t taste the guava, but I still finished it. It’s a bit overpriced for the food quality, but I overall enjoyed my experience!
