I adore this place. We’ve been going to this place for 3 years and went again today. Just got back from China(Chengdu) so my palate is a little picky. But this place did not disappoint. They’re fuqifeipian was delicious and they didn’t have any of that fluff(like bean sprouts, carrots, etc.) It was all just delicious meat. We ordered two cold dishes and two hot dishes plus three glasses of soy milk for three people and it came out to about $ 40 including tax and tip. And to top it all off we had a ton of food left.

authentic Sichuan food, specialize in street food from City of Cheng Du. We ordered take out, and liked almost all the dishes we got(i’m translating the dish name directly from Chinese cuz i don’t have a menu at hand): diced rabbit, smoked sichuan bacon stir fry, stir fry goat meat, Leaf wrapped sticky rice dessert(ye –er-ba). Yum. very reasonable priced, too!

Went here for dinner on Christmas Eve when most other places were closed.(I think I’ve been here before when it was under a different name?) Average place — flavor and service-wise. It’s pretty decently priced so you get what you pay for.

This restaurant is located at a pretty doomed location. I have lived near this plaza most of my life and it only seems like this unit is always constantly changing. Prior it used to be a Hong Kong style restaurant so one day I was craving some Won-Ton soup togo and found out it changed to a Sichuan Restaurant(a random fact: there also used«Little Sichuan» next door(which is now either a bank or optometry I cannot remember) but they actually thrived and moved to a bigger location in Newark. and before Little Sichuan, Darda occupied the space(whom used to be next door prior to being so popular in Milpitas. maybe it is a case of Feng Shui in effect. who knows). So back to my review… upon my surprise. I found out they changed so I ordered the Beef Noodle Soup and Fried Rice. Pretty generic but I thought it tasted pretty good. I then came back with my parents a few times and I would say Sichuan food is Sichuan food. it usually leaves you with a stomach ache. and the entire part of being good is being blasted with peppers where it’s numb and you can’t really taste what you are eating anyways. So that being said. I think this place has been pretty consistent with business. so that’s good. If you like Sichuan food. this place is worth a try.

This place was so so a year ago. When I was there yesterday, I found out that it’s gone down hill significantly. I can’t remember having such a disappointing meal. And it’s expensive. 2 appetizers, 1 soup and a noodle cost $ 25. The steam dumplings are supposed to have very delicate thin skin. But theirs had thick and hard skin like pot stickers. Tasteless pan fried noodles. Almost no meat in the beef pan cake and it’s tasteless. The only thing that was half way decent was the winter melon soup. DON’T EATHERE!

If you like spicy food, I mean real tasty spicy food; if you get bored with American Chinese food and want to try something authentic, go to this restaurant. I fell in love with it the first time I went in. They are The most authentic Sichuan restaurant i’ve been to in the US(mainly Boston and bay area). Anything on the whiteboard, the chef recommendation is good. My favorite is dandan noodle and all the appetizers basically. I noticed that they started to accept credit card last week when I went there, which is good. A little pricy compared to other Chinese restaurants in the area, but I say with that taste, totally worth it! My first Unilocal review coz i think they definitely deserve better recognition!

CASHONLY. My 1800th review. My mom wanted to try it since it’s close, next to the bank &99 Ranch North Fremont. Nobody was there except one customer getting take-out. We were there at 5pm so maybe because it was early, but I don’t think so. I ordered a bunch of stuff to share. Potato strips $ 3 — tiny portion, just average. Cumin lamb — $ 10.99 — nothing special Dan Dan Mien — portion enough only for 2 people, stingy ass. Not recommended. Green onion pancake — greasy, not enough onions. Chive pancake — Really greasy, thicker w/chives. Nothing special. CASHONLY, My total was $ 40 before tip. Separate bathrooms. Won’t go back!

I would recommend it more for some unique dishes(which other Szechuan places do not seem to have) than for Chef’s cooking skills. Cat ear soup(I believe no cats were harmed during its preparation, but I am merely guessing), rabbit, sweet potato pancakes, lamb(or beef) steamed in the rice flour — have not seen them anywhere else. Execution, however, is on a level of a good home cook, but nothing more. As a point of comparison, «Spicy Empire» in San Mateo definitely has a professional Chef, and it shows. Anyway, it’s a good neighborhood joint, but I would not drive there from say, San Mateo, with«Spicy Empire» or «Spices4» of its own.

3.5 really… It’s a good place for a cheap dinner on a weeknight. We stumbled on this place and have been eating there often. This place is so spicy that it just uses a single chile pepper symbol. Hot or not. Can you handle it? I have a mild palette. Tan tan noodles(4 stars), green onion pancakes.

NOTRECOMMENDED! 0 out of 5 stars! The food is so bad that I’ve got nothing to say.(and that’s saying a lot!)

I got the lunch special but here is the thing. There isn’t an actual lunch special menu. I think they just change ownership so the menu is being developed I guess. It was 6 dollars and change for the salt and pepper pork chops. I know the dish sounds pretty simple but you would be surprised at how many restaurants manage to mess it up. This place is middle of the road. The flavor is there but their pork has more fat than meat ratio. They just give more rice than meat. I would go back if I am in the area.

In short, go here, but bring someone familiar with Sichuan food! In Chinese it’s called«Ba Guo». So many discrepancies, I know! Anyway we came here based on the Unilocal page of the previous restaurant«Chuan Lu Xiang». And on there’s a place called«Woo Hing» which in Chinese is called«Chuan Xiang Lu», but the menu on is NOTTHESAME as the current menu! Anyway, they pretty much only understand Chinese here. I called to see what time they closed, and they didn’t understand me(when I asked in English). My friend asked for some water(in English), and they didn’t understand him either. So I guess you could either take that as a true sign of authenticity, or wave and gesture and hope for the best! Be brave!(Or I’ll go and interpret for you if you treat me, hahaha) They have a big TV screen showing different dishes, so you can choose from those if you want to know what it will look like. You order by marking what you want down on a slip of paper. All the dishes are in English too, but the translation is not super accurate. Be adventurous! If something is marked spicy, it will be SPICY. You were warned! We got the Chongqing chicken, the dry fried green beans, the lamb dumplings, the chive pocket, the«cat ear» soup, and the seafood fried rice. For 3 people it was a ton of food. Chongqing chicken: Very authentic, both mouth-numbing and spicy. Green beans: I’ve had better. This one was very lightly cooked and could have used more seasoning and more«wok breath» to give it a more smoky flavor. Lamb dumplings in sour soup: tasty and good, esp if you like lamb. Chive pocket: came out kind of greasy and wasn’t that special, but I actually liked that it didn’t have a ton of eggs in there. Cat ear soup: Kind of ordinary but a nice comforting dish. It has no cat ear, but rather noodles that are shaped like a cat ear. Seafood fried rice: Pretty ordinary, but my dining companions really liked it. It was a «safe» choice because one person was worried that he might not like the other items.

My wife and I went in there to use a coupon from restaurant dot com and they gave us an expanded pink menu. We did not know that the pink menu was from the previous management nor did they tell us until the bill was due, which was $ 45. They would not admit their mistake and we paid a lot more for the food we expected to pay for. The quality of the food was below average. I would have given it 2 stars, but the fact that they did not communicate to us what the price actually was allows me to grant them a well-deserved one star on Unilocal. We tried the hot and sour soup, sweet and sour chicken, fried rice, and a shrimp soup. Oh, and no credit cards, cash only there. NOTRECOMMENDED.

I like this place a lot. The dishes are carefully made and the owner makes us feel very welcomed. I first discovered this restaurant on and thought with a coupon it doesn’t hurt to try out this place. What a great decision. Food is 5 star and service is 4 star. You’ll love this place if you like spicy food. If not, make sure you tell the owner/waiter and they would be more than happy to show you the dishes that are non-spicy. I would definitely recommend this place to friends and family.

had woo hing take out last night-didnt read the other two 5 star reviews and glad i didn’t as my hopes would have been higher going in. ended up here b/c our usual place li zhou was packed. both places close to the house so i’m using li zhou as the benchmark. here goes: our order: 1. salt and pepper fried squid(Chinese calamari) $ 9.95 2. assorted pan fried noodle $ 7.95. this is their house specialty. All in: $ 19.65. that’s 2 dishes, one almost an appetizer for $ 20. pros: –wasn’t crowded at all. only 3 tables were occupied, maybe 25% of the restaurant –friendly service –they had a menu in English. i can’t read Chinese. I suspect if i could, I could order from the sign outside that said«3 – 4 dishes for $ 16.99…if you suckas can read this» –flavor was right on the chow mein. cons: –quantity. thought for $ 20, we’d get at least as much as li zhou. –flavor on the squid was wrong. –the noodles used in the chow mein looked like fried udon noodles so we didnt eat them – they were chewy. so much for having the right flavor. –pricey. at li zhou, you get 3 entrees for about $$ 18 – 20ANDGETTHIS that specials menu’s in English. bottom line: food wasn’t good enough in quantity or taste for the price. we could have and should have spent less for KFC(option 3). there’s a reason why people wait for li zhou. 2 stars because you’d have to serve horrible food and have bad service to earn just 1.

I’ve passed by this restaurant several times and has been curious about this place because I like Szechuan Style food. Since my husband and I had a very bad experience with the previous owner, I was hesitated to go in. On Sunday, My daughters and I were shopping for cake at Mary Bakery, I decided to bring them to try this restaurant while my husband was watching Super-Bowls. When we arrived, they served us a few dishes for starter before I made my order which reminded me Korean Kimchi. I ordered the Cold Noodle w/Sesame Sauce and Stir Fried Minced Chicken w/Pine Nut & Lettuce Taco for my girls. They loved both dishes. I had Szechuan Style Lamb to eat with the rice. The lamb dish looked very spicy because there were lots of chili in it, but It was not as spicy as I thought so I was able to eat them. It was delicious with the healthy rice. After the dinner, they served sweet mochi soup with egg flowers and it was good. she also gave my girls some ice-cream too. I was very surprise how their services are so good and the rice are included with the order, no extra charge(Wow!). I like their food and service so I decided to bring my family of 12 to go back for Chinese New Year’s Eve dinner. I think you must try this restaurant and hope you’re also agree with me.

True family run business where owners spent decades working/cooking for others until taking the leap on their own. One night we shut down Ranch 99(in the same center) and were in dire need of food. We stumbled upon Woo Hing and, although technically closed for the night, they gladly welcomed us to sit and order. At no time during our meal, did we feel pressured to eat and shove off. Instead, we felt so welcomed. Service was excellent and food was delightful. Must have the scallion pancakes, handmade steamed dumplings and my other favorite which was a beef and spicy green pepper dish… so flavorful! I still don’t know how Chinese restaurants can manage such large, extensive menus. Theirs has close to 200 dishes. Something can be found for everyone. They’ve only just opened a few months ago so give it a try and support local, small business! We’ve already been back a few times and will do so again and again.
