Upper Cuts

This place is nice and clean, the staff is friendly. Angie does a great job with my hair, I have been going to her for a long time.

I called like 4 times and the guy, who clearly doesn’t speak English, couldn’t understand «do you do color correction?» I swear, you can’t get good service from anywhere anymore. Not even phone service.

There is one particular Vietnamese lady (without spectacles, around 50 years of age, a bit on the heavier side). This lady usually works on the second (middle) chair on the left side of the shop when you enter, behind the central — counter. If you get this lady for your haircut, *RUN FOR YOUR LIFE*.
Here’s why: she has no sense of symmetry, and messed up the hair on the back of my head. She shaved off a lot more than necessary, took off a much larger part on one side, and a smaller on the other. She must have realized the mess she made because she very cleverly avoided showing me the back-​side of my head after the haircut.
What’s more, she hurt my ears with her nails during the haircut. Kind of twisted the top of my ear such that it hurts even 24 hours later.
I get a feeling she did it all on purpose — just do not know why. My family has been going to this place for over a year now, and I’ve had an excellent experience so far. The most recent experience has left me feeling cheated.
Now I’m walking around with a haircut that looks like a DIY job, and my ear is still smarting from the experience.
FWIW: The guy in the shop does a very good job. So does Angie and a younger lady with specs (I believe some of them only work weekends).
Edit (July 27, 2015): For a budget haircut (men/​kids) I’d recommend Shiva Beauty Salon in Fremont. Same price, MUCH better service.

This place is awesome have been going here to get my haircut for about 16 plus years. I always get my haircut by Lan he does an outstanding job. I’ve recommended this place to all my friends.

I read lot of great reviews about this place and the price was great for only $ 10. But I got my haircut and the lady didn’t take any time being precise with it and was shorter than I asked and she didn’t clean up the back near neck or near the fade.
I got home and cleaned up and noticed longer strands of hair she missed in patches and trimmed it myself. I paid $ 10 for a partial haircut that wasn’t even done right. I may try this place out once more but not having it cut by this lady.

Horrible service. Horrible haircuts. I’ve been here hundreds of tines for the 10 buck cut well you really get what you pay for. Uneven tappers. Hair not being trimmed evenly. And they always make you feel like its a Birden to get your haircut the way you like it. Won’t return until they have new barbers.

They did a terrible job with my haircut. I asked for a trim and it was cut too high. Along with that, their scissors were dull so it tugged on my hair. But the place is cheap.

Went here for my haircut a while back. I’ve been here before cuz in the 99 Ranch mall they have 2 other salons and this place is the cheapest for color and highlights, for women’s haircut it’s $ 11. Men’s only $ 10.
I had about 5 other people ahead of me and only 2 people working in the salon, a Vietnamese lady and a Vietnamese male.
I got the lady after waiting a bit. Went through 2 magazine really quick. I asked for a bob and she did an ok job. Nobody seems to cut my hair very well don’t know if it’s my head or the stylist fault. it’s probably my head.
So with tip I paid $ 13. The lady wasn’t careful giving me the change-​she didn’t count it back so almost got a free haircut. Instead of $ 7 back she placed $ 12 down. so lame. I was nice and gave $ 5 back but next time might not be so nice!
CASH ONLY place which I hate! One unisex bathroom.

Bang for your buck here! Hair Cuts for Men are only $ 10! This place always has business that’s how you can tell they do a pretty good job.
Although at times there may be a wait for a Hair Cut, but it’s worth it for only $ 10! We always have the lady closest to the TV cut our hair. She does a great job cutting hair.
Service is good here too, never really have a problem with service. It’s CASH ONLY.

Really nice mens haircut for only $ 10. Plus they let my small dog wait inside while they do my haircut! I finally found my perfect salon in Fremont! :)

Came here for a much needed hair cut. Since my hair was long enough to go to space and back, I wanted to find a place that was affordable and does a decent job. Anh, my stylish, did a better job than I could have hoped. Not only was Anh friendly and sweet, her work on my hair was amazing!!! Bravo Anh, bravo!

I am old school and prefers scissors over clippers, Angie specializes in that, problem solved !

Horrible hair cuts and horrible customer service!!! Waited in line for 30min to not get a hair cut because another customer calls and walks in 5min later after calling and the hair dresser tells me he can’t do my hair he has to do hers first and pushes me off to the other hair dresser who messed up my hair the first time I went. If I could give 0 stars I would.
