Never been here before, I ordered the rib plate. OMG. Ribs were juicy, fall off the bone, smoke flavored goodness. The sides were baked potato casserole, that was ok salty rich mashed potatoes more like it and I got the fried okra. Do you know how hard it is to find decent fried okra? I liked how the okra was in tiny little pop corn size small enough for my kids to mistakenly eat several thinking they were chkn nuggets and they were fried just right.

This place is pretty good! my family likes it! The kids eat free promo is really nice and of course everyone likes the ice cream. We usually order the family picnic pack and it’s pretty good.

I haven’t ate here since their grand opening. I decided to give it another try during my lunch break. I ordered their Wednesday special for my husband, it was a hoagie sandwich with pulled pork two sides and a drink and a single pulled pork sandwich for me. I ordered it to go. We both were eating at our office, enjoying our conversation and a dead cockroach fell out of his sandwich! It was perfectly chopped in half. They must of picked it up with the hand full of meat and chopped it. I didn’t even bother calling because we will never eat Dickeys again!

I never ever write reviews but I just have to say something about this shitty place. First of all I get there 10 minutes early and all they said«oh we don’t open for another 10 mins». First of all, why is your door even open in the first place? There were 3 people there that could have helped me. I told them I was on a clock too. But nooo they had to wait until it’s 11 o’ clock. And when the rest of the workers came, they were all just staring at me. How rude is that??? I asked for a side of bbq sauce and they gave me literally a table spoon of bbq sauce. The meat was really dry and the sides were shitty… Seems like they bought them from a dollar store and heat them up. Save your money and trip!

Anyone that gives this place anything more than one star does not know a thing about BBQ. If you see more than one star, disregard immediately! Ribs/chicken/brisket are all over seasoned and over-smoked. Low grade meats, akin to what you’d find at a chain restaurant… Bad food altogether. The mac n cheese was no better than those Kraft velveeta easy boxes. In fact, I’m pretty the cheese is objectively velveeta. Do not waste your money. This is not good BBQ. This is not what BBQ is supposed to be like.

The only real positive at this Dickies is the cleanliness. Other than that the service was lacking in friendliness and the staff worked at a sloths pace making the wait in line take almost my whole lunch time. When I did get my food I had the ribs and they were drastically over cooked, I mean you pick up the rib and the meat crumbled like dust off of it. The sides were average, not fresh made. There are plenty of eateries in the surrounding area, go to them instead.

I would probably give this place a 2.5 Bc the ribs are pretty good but that’s about it. The sides are pretty basic or bland. The service is really bad. Not only It seems like the workers don’t want to be there(like literally it looks like they’re dying), but they also spray windex inside the window which sprays onto the bbq :/… Ew. There is also free ice cream. The ice cream mix tasted low quality and the cones were stale.

Small portions of dried up meat. Not sure how this business ever became a franchise. Moving on. ..

We promised ourselves we would never come here again, but we decided to give it one last shot. I would give it zero stars if I could, but as you know, Unilocal doesn’t allow for that option. First of all the employees were rude. Again. My boyfriend asked for cheese on his baked potato casserole side dish, and the cashier snapped, «We don’t do that anymore!» My daughter and I both got the giant bakers. Halfway through eating them, we found huge black moldy spots all over the potatoes! Really!!! $ 9.00 a piece for rotten potatoes!!! To top it off– after my last review, management contacted me to ask for my email, so they could, «apologize.» I promptly responded, and still haven’t heard anything back. For a chain from the south, Dickey’s BBQ, is an exponentially inadequate example of southern hospitality.

We got brisket, chicken, cole slaw & ceaser salad. Disappointment in every bite. Cold meat, barely warm fries, soggy salads and after all overpriced for what they offer

Not sure … Maybe it is a location thing … Or maybe the catering is better than the plates, but when I first had Dickeys for the first time in the Central Valley area, I was sold. I will note my first time was a Dickeys in Kings County in Hanford. Unfortunately, the experiences I have had in Fresno have left something to be desired. I have now visited this location three times and I feel comfortable enough to leave a review. First, the portion sizes are very small in comparison to the prices charged. I’ve tried the chicken several times and the chicken has been dried out. I have tried the ribs and I definitely have had better tasting ribs and a better portion size for the price. I’m an east coast person so it may be tough getting use to California but even this place couldn’t hold a candle to Sonnys BBQ on the east coast and many say Sonnys is average. Proceed at your own caution as others have expressed their views as well which are similar.

Horrible. Ordered pulled pork. I should of cancelled my order once I realized they stored the pork in a plastic bag. The pork was so dry and bland it couldn’t be digested without tons of BBQ sauce. Overpriced and simply not good at all. Skip for other places serving BBQ with much better food, bigger portions and priced almost identically.

This place still sucks! I got a coupon for a free big BBQ sandwich for my b-day. I decided to give them another chance, since it was free. I figured I had nothing more to lose but granting them another chance to redeem themselves. First off the Big BBQ Sandwich is priced at $ 7.29, with your choice of meat. I chose the brisket for mine. Thank God mine was free or I would have been pissed. That sandwich should not be called big. It was small. It was dry. It was chewy. It was bland. It was just not good at all. That sandwich shouldn’t be priced over $ 4. It just is not worth it. I still can’t get over the fact that when you order the food, they go to the warmers and grab saran wrapped meats out of it, to cut and serve you your food. The presentation alone is saddening and just unpleasant. There has to be a better way! I also order fried okra with this meal. The okra was a tad undercooked and soggy inside. I suspect they drop it into oil that was not at the proper temperature, making it just unpleasant. It was also super salty. This seems to be an ongoing problem here. All in all the food sucks, and the prices are way to high for this unsatisfying meal. I’m just glad I only paid $ 2.50 since I had that coupon.

The cups are pretty cool. The ice cream was ok. I liked their ice. That’s pretty much where it ends. I got the potato, which wasn’t too bad, kind of dry even with the toppings they out on it. The mac and cheese was mushy(probably from being cooked in a bag). The potato salad was just terrible, too much mayonnaise. Kind of had a watered down dill pickle flavor. And I was definitely not a fan of the employees working there. If they had any common sense they should have been able to tell that this was our first time in the restaurant(the blank looks on our faces while looking at the menu should have been a dead give away). When we were finally ready to order the guy seemed less than enthusiastic to be there, let alone take our order. The girl that was working there was a littlle bit better, not by much though. Between the food and the poor customer service I don’t think I’ll be coming back

I have eaten here twice. They were out of ribs the first time I came in somehow. The food was decent both times but I swear to God the last time I came in I almost died from sodium overload about 20 minutes after I left. It was not a pleasant sensation. Update-Ate here a third time. Had a half rack of ribs to go. They were really good. Fixed my own veggies to balance out the meal. Think that is the key

So I’ve been here twice and I waited to do my review because the first time I just wasn’t happy but I knew the place had only just opened so I wanted to give them another chance prior to a review. Well let me tell you what, they sure have worked out the kinks in this place! The first time I came here I felt really rushed to order, the portions seemed small, and the meat had next to no taste. This time it was the polar opposite! Yay! The employees kind of walked me through the menu and helped me decide what was good. I ended up getting two huge meals and two big yellow cups for 25 bucks! Not bad for a really good dinner! Also on a hot day you can get some free soft serve ice cream! I would definitely recommend this place! Go here for some really good bbq and then head three doors down for some frozen yogurt. (I try to get my boyfriend to take me for frozen yogurt literally everyday lol)

Happy, attentive staff. Food is pretty good for«fast food.» Smokehouse Salad was tasty, but the fried okra doesn’t compare to that of the South. Overall pretty good. Could ise newer, cleaner tablecloths.

I have to start out by saying that I do like Dickeys barbecue. But all of my experiences with Dickeys has been in the Texas area. This is a well known restaurant chain even though there are better mom and pop family owned barbeque restaurants that are better. However, I do like the Dickeys. I did not like this one. First of all, they don’t cook their own meat. I guess the meat is pre smoked. All the people do there is warm it and prepare it. The smell of smoke is missing! It doesn’t compare to the way I am a custom to when I’m in the great state of Texas. Usually they would cook the meat and put it on a scale but here in fresno, they just seem to eyeball the amount. There are a lot of staff there wandering around. Some of the sides look like they been sitting in the warmers way too long. I had the beef brisket what was good but dry. There was no smoke flavor to it whatsoever. I like the barbecue sauce but then again, if you didn’t use that your sauce the sandwich might get caught in your throat. All in all, I will not be going back. I hate to read them so low but it’s just not worth it.

Brisket here is nothing special. It looked good(nice smoke rings on it) and smelled good, but didn’t taste like it was seasoned or smoked well. It’s a shame because since this a Texas-based chain, brisket should be the main selling point for this place. Chicken breasts were moist, but tasted bland. Coleslaw looked like it was a ripoff from KFC. Only thing is, it didn’t even taste as good imo. BBQ beans were just horrible. I think I’ve tasted better bbq beans from a can. Service and prices were fine. I do think the money they charge per pound for some of the meats, could drop a buck or two though. Bad rating for now, but I’ll definitely give them another chance since bbq options are still kinda scarce here and hopefully my next visit will be better food-wise.
