Best steak ever! Great customer service. The manager even came and introduced herself. Much appreciated.

Food sucks last time we were in I was served cold meat, the menu has changed. There use to be these amazing tacos on the menu and they have been removed wish they were still available, worth taking the drive across town to enjoy. The blonde manager is a joy to be around only plus to this establishment. The bartender would rather be on her phone texting people than attending to us. Like come on we are sitting at the bar right in front of you atleast give us some respect. Overall this place is not like it use to be.

Great happy hour deals. Free shuttle from my hotel(Holiday Inn Express off Herndon and Hwy 41). They say you get a free appetizer for taking the shuttle. Turned out to be two small pieces of toast with artichoke and bacon. Meh, still better than a sharp stick in the eye. The appetizers I had was the NY Steak Bites and the Salmon Salad. The NY Steak Bites is actually about an 8 ounce NY cut served with potatoes and arugula. For $ 7 this was a fantastic deal as it was flavorful and almost a full meal. The Salmon Salad was also a great deal for $ 7 and good sized serving. It had grilled salmon cubes with baby greens, cucumbers, grape tomatoes and asparagus with a light vinaigrette dressing. This was so good, I guarantee I will order this every time. The bartender recommended the Scampi Prawns. I will try this next time as well. Drink prices are $ 4 for beers, $ 6 for mixed drinks(not on the rocks), and $ 6 and $ 7 wines. I love the dining area as there is a huge bar in the middle surrounded by tables.

Let me state first off that I like the Elbow Room. I’ve had many great meals there but I felt I needed to say that their Thanksgiving Turkey Dinner was sub par. First off was the waiter. I would ask for something and he would nod his head and disappear. MAYBE after I asked again he would come back with what I wanted. Next, no dinner rolls. Who serves a Thanksgiving Dinner without dinner rolls? That is a basic must have. Undercooked sweet potatoes and green beans. I mean really undercooked ! Just barely warm. The turkey was good but the stuffing and mashed potatoes were in small portions. That wouldnt have been so bad if the other sides were better. No offense, but I think it would have been better to go to Marie Callendars!

The best food ever! I had a work dinner and meeting in the cellar this last weekend and it was so great! The service was good, the room was very nice and clean. Everyone also loved their food, we all had the short ribs, sea bass, and brick chicken! It was our best meeting so far and we have been trying to find something great like this for 10 years! We will most likely be back for our next work dinner!

Vegies good. Horse radish good. 14oz Prime rib looks good but too over cooked for me. Asked for medium rare. nicely cooked but looks like prior to serving it gets another reheat/cook job to warm up. Maybe i should ask for rare. Beef is from harris ranch. Place is nice. + 1 star for replying to my Unilocal review.

I really enjoyed The Elbow Rooms Saturday Brunch. The open faced Fritata was delicious. This is a great addition to Fresno’s brunch options.

Came here for brunch with four other people. We entered and they asked us if we have reservations — we didn’t so they sat us in the bar area which was fine. Our waiter came up and raved about their special«off the menu brunch items.» I was eyeing what was essentially a steak and egg combo but his rave about the banana pancakes had me switch. Boy did I wish I didn’t. The banana waffles which he claimed came with lots of bananas and even bananas in the waffle mix was dry, tasteless and very little bananas. There were no bananas in the waffle mix! I make better waffles in my home waffle iron. I have no idea how they even managed to make the waffles so dry — like the cook forgot to put enough water in it. I couldn’t even eat it without drenching it in maple syrup and even then, I could only eat a small portion of it. My other dining mates had better food — a few of them got the steak and eggs and it was solid(but nothing to rave about) and someone else got a burger and onion rings(which was pretty good). Service was slow. It took a long time to get our food. Plus drink refills were also slow to come. Also, when we first got our food, they got two of the five orders wrong. Plus they charged extra for tomatoes to be put in eggs(come on!) This place was overpriced and they nickel and dime you. Not cool. They are located in a busy shopping center and it seems to be a popular happy hour/bar location so they probably won’t go out of business. Just don’t come here for the food.

Always a good place for happy hour. Prices are reasonable, food is good — especially any salads with the champagne vinaigrette! Maybe not the most inventive place or avant-garde, but the steaks are well cooked, the appetizers are flavorful and the entrees are tasty. They do have an awesome selection of wine!

My boyfriend and I took a friend there a few weeks ago as we liked the food and the patio. The menu had completely changed. Half of the appetizers that used to be on the menu were gone. So, instead of having a tapas-style experience we ordered the deviled eggs for an appetizer and dinner items. The eggs were horrible. I’m not sure how you can mess up deviled eggs. We didn’t finish them. Our friend ordered the ahi sandwich. He said it was dry and couldn’t finish it. My ribs were sort of warm but the sides were cold. The mashed potatos tasted like they were nuked as the inside was cold and the outside room temperature. The servers were nice but running frantic. It was a Saturday night and they were understaffed. I believe the food was cold due to a combination of being poorly reheated and probably sitting in the window a long time because the server couldn’t get to it. Also, it was a fairly cool evening and the fans on the patio were going full blast and the misters were on. However, the menu notes that water is only served on request to «help the farmers» yet the misters were going, which actually made it cold. It seems like a manager needs to be more present to check on these things. For the price, I would have thought I’d see a manager walking around the scene. Never saw one.

Our visit this time around was decent — I always enjoy a trip to Elbow Room. Something about the semi-dark dining room I love. Wasn’t a fan of the calamari — too much breading, but the dipping sauce was delish — spicy mayo, garlic something-or-other was good. The calamari was sitting on a bed of greens, these were fantastic simply dressed with a vinaigrette of some sort. I ate this instead of the calamari. We shared some sauteed portabellos and sourdough for dipping. After this I was too full for anything else, but we went ahead and ordered the french dip, fish and chips and short ribs. French dip was yummy — creamy horseradish had only a faint spiciness — I would have asked for straight horseradish, but he settled and enjoyed it nonetheless. Fish and chips were tasty and the portion was giant. The short ribs were very good, with the mashed potatoes — the veggies were mostly green bell peppers — okay, but I’d prefer grilled veggies like zuchinni, carrots… even cauliflower and broccoli. LOVED the 3 rounds of margaritas(secretly, I think I enjoyed these the most… after a very long day of work, the refreshing cocktail was perfect!) Lots of leftovers, we consumed them the next day. Barbara was a fantastic server and we enjoyed our visit. See you soon!

I have been here several times, even before the remodel, but I am completing my review based from tonight’s visit. I love this establishment, especially on Sunday’s when there is live music. Tonights dinner was absolutely delicious. I ordered the Fresh Alaskan Halibut, which was superb… No fish smell, just ocean. My soda was consistently refilled. The reason I gave this 4 of 5 stars was because my waiter was a bit aloof and gave a performance as if he was auditioning for a part in a Spielberg film. Whenever we asked questions he seemed offended and recited as if reading from a sheet. Beside that, marvelous late dinner with my past colleagues of attorneys.

I’ve heard great things about this establishment that has been around for sixty years and have always wanted to visit but never quite managed to get by until this evening. In a spontaneous gettogether, my friends and I were looking for a place where we could eat, catch up, not feel rushed, but also not have to endure too many people on a Friday night. The patio was quite busy, and got really hopping after eight pm, but it wasn’t so noisy that we couldn’t enjoy our time, and I was really pleased that our server didn’t try to push us out to flip the table for more customers. We started with the calamari appetizer and sourdough round. My best friend is a little picky about her food so I asked that the calamari and slaw be separate — I’m glad I did as I think it would’ve made the calamari soggy, sitting atop the slaw as it’s usually served. The calamari was good, but a little heavy on the batter. The sourdough round, however was phenomenal. It was sliced and stuffed with garlic and cheese — the menu doesn’t describe it so we had no idea how good it actually was(I expected plain bread and butter) and was a good deal at only $ 4. I enjoyed the fish and chips, though something was slightly off, though I couldn’t figure out if it was the sauce or the batter. One of my friends had the French dip, made with prime rib, and was disappointed that it was a little rare for her preference. I liked that she was offered fries, onion rings or half and half & half — that was a nice touch. My other friend got the boneless short ribs and added a side of the mushrooms, which we all sampled and agreed were more than worth the up charge. None of us wanted to share so we got three brownies. They were more than generous in size, with a delicious and rich chocolate sauce and a berry on top; I couldn’t finish mine. The very minty whipped cream was a little too strong and I’d have preferred plain whipped cream or none at all. We stayed for four hours, had a great time, and never felt rushed. There were times it was difficult to flag down a server but the staff did pay attention to clearing empty plates quickly and refilling our glasses before they were even empty. The prices are a bit steep($ 40 for a steak, mashed potatoes and veg!) but the quality is there, as is the portion size, and it’s worth the splurge.

The outdoor patio is pretty nice on a warm day, but the nectarine risotto with seared scallops smelled like a hot plate of sewage. It had the funkiest manchego cheese(that wasn’t listed anywhere in the description!) Some warning would have been nice as well. Instead, my husband kept sniffing around thinking there was a sewage leak until I finally took a whiff of my plate and then I wasn’t able to eat anymore. My hubby ordered the chicken and waffles and said it was great, even though the waffles were cold. I would pass on the risotto for sure.

We had a 30th wedding anniversary for some friends held in their Cellar Room. It was just wonderful! We had 20 people and one waitress and she was amazing! She had everything under control. We all had separate checks, which was not a problem. We brought in our own cake and that was also not a problem. Not to mention the food was delicious! The Cellar Room was just beautiful and perfect for that size party. We will definitely keep that in mind for any other functions we have: anniversary dinners, bridal luncheons, or showers.

We came in and they were closing. I wasn’t happy because we had driven a long way. But they kept the restaurant open when I mentioned that we Unilocal! That was nice. Their bar menu is short but decent and the prices are decent too for Cali. They had a low tannin wine. That is always a plus. Some of their wines are quite pricey by the glass, but the waiter let us know that the one we ordered was expensive by subtly whispering to us, so we appreciated that. The music was awesome Saturday hinge dance music, and I loved it. But we were there with a friend who didn’t, and when we asked them to turn it down and change the genre, they did. The patio looked FUN! Our waiter, Geno, made us his business. He was very accommodating and made us feel welcome, even explaining to us why they now close much earlier than they used to(bar brawls). I was wishing there was still a dance floor and 2 am crowd minus the fights. Our food was good, our drinks were too. Mostly we appreciated the staff accomodating us so graciously. Ask for Geno.
