My wife and I had our anniversary dinner at FIVE last night and everything was excellent. This was our first trip and we will be back. ERIC our waiter and all the staff did a great job. Thanks to everyone to help make our night special.

Great spot to meet friends. Their Gouda burger and wedge salad is perfect. Nice ambiance. A little loud. Great service.

Five always gets a 5! Best restaurant in Central California. Love spending money at this place because of Pat and his crew. Thanks again for another great meal!

I like to cook at home most of the times. Once in a while I feel like trying something different. Came to the Five for the first time last night. Had to wait 10 minutes to be seated, so I went to the bar and ordered a Jen &Tonic. Crowded on a Wednesday night is a good sign. Staff is welcoming, bar makes good drinks and my Waiter was a delight, attentively sharp. Drinks are great, the wine list was impressive. My tomatoe soup was thick and flavorful. My blackened Salmon Salad was perfect. Over all is 5 stars 45, job will done 5 restaurant, I will be back.

This restaurant is a great place to come and eat dinner. The service is excellent and the servers are amazing. The food is off the hook!!. But be careful, the prices are a tad bit on the expensive side.

The atmosphere is nice, service provided was good. Only thing against it is the food, nothing spectacular. Not great, but not bad either. I’m glad i tried it, but won’t go out of my way to have again.

Only went here for the happy hour. The wine was good and the food was really delicious. The Tuscan nachos were yummy, but a bit much halfway through. The meatballs were sooo yummy!

They say they’re open until 10pm on Unilocal which is incorrect. On their door it says they’re open until 9:30 pm. I go there to eat at 9:05 and they tell me the kitchen is closed. Don’t advertise certain hours and then change them like fucking assholes.

For the price I expect better. The ambiance is great, but I had to fix my own wobbly table. We got the goat cheese for an app, meh. I ordered the ribeye, which came with steamed veggies and potatoes. Ribeye was great, the sides not so much. Of course I ordered the chocolate lava cake for dessert because it’s my favorite dessert of all time, but there was nothing special about it. I make a better lava cake and I’m no baker. Overall not bad and I do feel bad giving a 3 star to a restaurant that’s more Italian yet I ordered the steak. If I come here again it’ll be for the pasta, otherwise this place will remain the poor mans Ruth’s Chris.

Went to Five Restaurant for my Husband birthday. We really enjoy the food and since this was Friday during Lent we were unable to have meat. Five offered some excellent options with seafood so everything was good. Service was excellent as always. Only negative is that the noise from the bar can be extremely loud when it is crowded. They also need to make the bar bigger as you cannot fit that many people in there during Happy Hour.

Came to Five for dinner with a friend on a Friday night. Made reservations in the afternoon for 6:00pm and had no problems getting a table. When we arrived we were seated promptly. Our waiter was Michael and he was a pleasure. Very personable, polite and fun. He took the time to explain the specials and even made some recommendations to pair with beer/wine. Upon sitting, we were brought bread and water immediately. To start, I ordered the 5 Insalata. This is their version of a wedge salad. The salad tasted good except it was drenched in blue cheese. The presentation was not as appealing. It looked flat and not at all what the picture looks like on their website or what I’m used to from other restaurants. It was still good though. For my entrée, I ordered the special which was a New York steak with jumbo prawns, creamy proscuitto mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts. This was Michael’s recommendation and it was absolute perfection. Everything tasted delicious. My friend ordered the Spinachi salad and the Melanzane Parmigiana as her entrée. She loved every bit of hers. All in all, we were very pleased with our food and the excellent service. We were even thanked on our way out by multiple staff and the manager which was a nice personal touch. Only issue we had was the dining area is extremely noisy due to the sounds coming from the bar area. It was hard to hear one another. I took off one star for this reason, but I would still come to 5 again. I recommend.

We have come to this restaurant for years on many occasions, a Christmas party, our engagement, my birthday. We have tried various items on the menu ranging from fish to nachos and pizza to pasta bowls and every single item has been delicious. They are easy to work with on events, the staff is always friendly and quick to help and answer all questions and they have descent prices. Over all this is a great restaurant filled with special memories for ME and we will always come back.

I can see the average review being a solid 4. This is definitely a group place. Not so much a date night. The atmosphere is a little dressy and fun, making the noise level incredibly loud. The nachos really are a must, thank you all for the amazing recommend. The halibut was a little dry for my taste, but my husbands short ribs were fantastic. The bar is very quick, making sure my Manhattan glass was never empty. I would definitely return for a group setting. Not for a date night.

Happy hour, not so happy. Let me start off by saying the good points about the Five Happy hour(4−6pm and all day two days a week): The price(6 bucks for pizza right?), atmosphere, and some of the food. I wanted to check out this place for a while because I heard about the happy hour; like other reviews, I think it is a mixed-bag overall. Let’s start with the place itself – a very nice interior, yes, but outside there was broken car glass and a warning sign about keeping your valuables safeguarded and to not leave your car out there unattended for a while. Wait, this is the ‘good’ part of Fresno? Yikes. Once inside the bar, be prepared to be greeted much the same way a lizard greets a passing bug – cold stare. The bartender with the red hair(Jenna A or Ariel as we called her during our visit), seemed to be flummoxed by the fact we needed a few minutes to decide what to order from the happy hour menu. She pretty much avoided us and put us into ‘customer time out’ for like at least 5 minutes while we sat literally in front of her giving her the ‘ready to order nod.’ The other issue I noticed, and have seen mentioned in other reviews, is that the place is full of regulars(i.e. heavily-cologned golfing gentlemen with elevator eyes). This wouldn’t be so bad if it didn’t affect how the staff treated you; the regulars seem to get preferential treatment. Now, on to the food. So let’s make this easy: Sliders, win; Tuscan nachos, win; Pizza, not so win. The pizza was tasty but greasy. You can see from my pic that the oil soaked through the crust within a few minutes and got worse over time. I’m sure you’re asking yourself ‘wait, what do you expect for 6 bucks?’ True, but all they’d need to do is cut back on the pepperoni and they’d have a tastier pizza. The sliders were very good and were served with dark green lettuce and thick cut bacon. The nachos – pinch me if the nachos here aren’t the same exact ones that Macaroni Grill used to have, right down the sauce! They’re good but also greasy. My advice to the team at Five: You have a great place just need some tweaking of customer service skills and go easy on the greasier items. I will try again to follow-up this review(we all have bad days).

Great food, great service. My friends, my husband, and I were looking for a place to have lunch at, and found this place on Unilocal haha. I’d say this is a great place …i forgot what I had, but my friend had their special salmon for that day… it had almonds in it… it was really yummy. The service was also good. We had their crème brule too… it was awesome… four of us shared it

No to go boxes at happy hour! Eat your food or they throw it away… So we’ve been coming back here for happy hour but our last experience was a joke. Granted… The service and the happy hour food was good but when we asked for a to go box we were told NO. I asked why and they said too many people were taking advantage of their happy hour prices by ordering their food to go. So I completely understand that, but my husband and I were in no way taking advantage. We were seated at the bar, ordered 3 appetizers, had two rounds of drinks each and all we had left to take home were 2 artichoke hearts and a meatball. That’s it. We obviously we’re not taking advantage by trying to get our entire order to go. I decided that this was ridiculous and wanted to speak to someone in charge. So, everyone has told me that the owner is a very nice man, and I’m sure he is, but when I asked to speak to the owner I got the owner’s wife… Who wasn’t very nice. When I told her that we were offended by the new rule because we weren’t taking advantage like some other people she simply explained that«policies are put into place to be enforced upon everyone, not just a special few.» Ok so I get it; they have a business to run. But wow! That attitude! I immediately didn’t feel like a «guest» anymore. So I just said that we had a good time, but this visit would be our last. She then said, «Well I can give you a to go box just this one time.» I was thankful for that but after being treated that way we still won’t go back. Sorry Five… Another one bites the dust. You’ve lost our business. If this type of rule were the norm then we probably wouldn’t have cared. But I’ve never heard of anything like it before(and I’ve worked in the restaurant industry nearly 13 years). And they don’t tell you about it until you ask for a box. I mean… If I pay 100% full price for an item I should be able to keep 100% of what I paid for. Right? Here’s a tip Five: have your waitstaff inform diners of your ridiculous rule beforehand so no one over orders.(Now look who’s taking advantage…$$$)

Excellent service. Here’s why: 1) They forgot to bring my friend’s cocktail. My friend didn’t receive it until late into dinner after we had to remind our waiter. As an apology, the waiter gave every single person in my party(6 people total) a piece of tiramisu cake. 2) They didn’t have anything vegan on the menu so they grilled me a sh*tload of veggies. It looked exactly like something you can get from the Whole Foods hot bar. There were green and red bell peppers, zucchini, and onion. Although it was flavorful with only salt & pepper added, I got tired of it quickly. I also got to enjoy the complimentary bread that they make in house. It was delicious with an olive tapanede. 3) Another reviewer noted that the staff here is good looking. Hmmm… well, all of them were male except the hostess. An extra treat for you ladies. This place is pretty expensive, but it does have a nice ambience for a celebration. There were people celebrating Valentine’s Day. I was here celebrating my friend’s birthday. Yeah, sounds about right.
