Tender Beef Kabab even at medium well, wonderful pork chops for lunch OR breakfast, generous helpings. So much food my husband and I share the meal.

Stopped in for lunch on a Friday afternoon. Service was prompt and food was on the table quickly. I got the chicken sandwich and wow. Flavorful, tender chicken on soft bread. The rice pilaf was perfectly cooked and complimented the sandwich. And they are not shy with their portions! Definitely recommend this little gem of a place.

Food: George’s never disappoints, the food is always tasty. I highly recommend any of their lamb dishes. Especially, the kebab sandwiches and the LuLu roll. Most meats are grilled with onions, and if you get garlic sauce with your meal, beware, a little goes a long way as it is very potent. Between the grilled onion and garlic sauce you will most likely have some gnarly breath, but it’s so worth it. Staff: The staff is just ok. Most wait staff seem like they have been working there for decades, they are not terrible, but they could be friendlier. During the lunch rush, they clearly want to get as many people in and out as quick as possible. Atmosphere: The atmosphere is very small town diner. It’s one of those places where everyone knows everyone else, the staff knows many by their customers by their first name and knows exactly what they want to eat. It’s very casual, don’t even bother waiting for someone to seat you. Just walk-in find a table, and sit down. Overall, one of the better places to eat downtown, check it out.

Nasty food! Chicken was soft but over salted and Pilaf was good but that was the best of it. Humus was watery, veggies were mush, meatball soup seriously tasted like canned dog food. Also, to tell you the truth the service kinda sucked. We were there around 1:30 a high point of lunch still and the place was kinda dead. We walked in and nobody says hello or bothered to seat us. We sit down and waited a few minutes still no service then we looked at each other like let’s get out of here. Should’ve listened to our inner voice was the $ 40 lesson of the day. Oh yeah, their prices are too damn high too!

Best breakfast in town! The Shish sandwich and the lamb shank are to die for! Busy at around noon.

Very mediocre. The meat was dry, and the vegetables were canned. They brought out our two salads literally stacked one on top of the other, so my nephew’s ranch dressing was dripping off the bottom of my plate. Won’t be going back there.

Six stars should be an option in extreme situations. Garlic sauce, to die for. I have never had a bad meal here. The sir fry is wonderful but usually sold out by noon. .its just that good. Daily lunch specials. Great breakfast. A perfect combination of Mediterranean and American meal options. The BEST burger in Fresno. It’s just good. A+++++++

The most delicious garlic sauce ever! Chicken kabob sandwich with tender, moist, flavorful rice pilaf. Had lunch with friends & got fast & friendly service but crowded. So crowded. Not relaxing but wonderful food.

Definitely not authentic. Was served rice San Francisco treat style – rice-o-roni! The lamb was flavored with Salt. Dolma was horrible.

The best part of my meal was the bread and water! I ordered the lamb kabob lunch special. The lunch special came with rice pilaf, mixed veggies, grilled lamb and soup. The rice pilaf, also known as Rice-A-Roni… Not kidding, I thought their rice tasted familiar, then I saw the distinct short thin noodle that can be found in rice a roni. Then the veggies — it’s either canned or have been sitting in water for a good amount of time, reminded me of cafeteria food. Then the salt with a hint of lamb… Yes, I could not taste the lamb due to the saltiness, I may have consumed 3 times the recommended sodium intake for the day. I have been taught not to waste food but on my second bite of the lamb, I had to discreetly spit it into my napkin and gave up on lunch. I was utterly disappointed and left the restaurant still hungry.

I ordered one lamb dish and one beef dish. I could not tell the difference between the two. it was terrible. I have seen the reviews that is why I thought it would be good to try out. I was wrong. The meat tasted terrible was not cooked well at all.

There is nothing better than coming to George’s and sitting at the counter for lunch. I have been coming here for years and it has always been top notch. They have the best Armenian food in fresno in my opinion. The menu is pretty diverse but I always end up getting the chicken salad with onions and peppers. They make a homemade blue cheese that is simply amazing. This is a downtown fresno landmark.

An authentic Armenian-American grill with family style service and very generous portions. The Lulu Roll and Chicken Kebab are superb. Thank you for having such happy employees!

George’s has some of the best food in town. Period. The lunch crowd is crazy and there are lots of regulars, so I realize that some people may not review the restaurant favorably if its your first time. It’s just not the type of place that has the time to roll out a red carpet for you. Most people are eating on their lunch break and the pace is frantic. The waitresses are very friendly and they do their best to help you out even in the busiest times. The service is usually still excellent. Like I said, the food is outstanding. Everything on the menu deserves a try. The chicken is excellent and I enjoy the chicken kebab lunch plate.

I love to go to George’s when I’m in Fresno.(I should add, I don’t like much in Fresno and only go because of family, so when I can get good Armenian food, that makes the trip pleasurable.) I always go for breakfast and get the eggs over easy with the hamm(burger steak) which is flavored with the spices that make Armenian food so good. I usually bring half of that back to the room and have that for dinner. I also get the peda bread instead of wheat/white toast. Someone mentioned«sesame bread» in their review. They obviously don’t know what Armenian food is… one of those items being the peda bread. It is so good!!! Can’t go wrong at George’s. AND, there’s free parking for two hours right next to the restaurant.

I want to like this place more. But I truly can’t think of any wow factors. It could be that I compare this restaurant to the Mediterranean, and I absolutely love that place! They are open for breakfast. It is slow during this time. American style breakfast, ham eggs, pancakes. The food and prices during this time are good. During lunch it will be packed, the prices about $ 10. They have sandwiches, kebabs, and salads.
