Take out service is the worst. The food ordered at take out looks like leftovers. Portion is so small compared to dine in for same price. Lastly 4 hours before«closing» they run out of sticky rice and won’t make more for a take it… Wat a joke. Rip off. Management decided when to close business. Online business hits never match actual hours. You could go hours before the displayed closing and business could be closed. Asked why that is and management says it varies. Definitely going somewhere else.

Bad service. Took forever to bring out our foods. Rush to cook our food. Server didn’t explain the dish. Wouldn’t come back ever again. Would not recommend to friends and family.

Great food! Staff and owner are friendly. Been coming here for years. Everything that I’ve ordered on the menu has been satiating!

One of my favorite local eateries. The food is great. I swear I can’t get enough of it. When I go, I typically order the pad thai tofu plate, and my friends usually order something spicy. We have tried a variety of plates here, and each has its qualities, but the pad thai is by far my favorite. The one negative is that at times, they are so busy that it can take a very long time to get your food, or to wave a waiter down. Perhaps that’s just bad scheduling of staff, but the servers are always very friendly. You can tell they work really hard because they’re usually running from table to table, to the kitchen and cash register. they certainly deserve good tips. The food is worth the wait. Lastly, sometimes the hours posted online and the actual hours opened don’t always match up. I’ve gone there during times its supposed to be open, and its closed. This isn’t just one occurence; this has happened several times. Overall it’s great.

Great service!!! And amazing food!!! This is going to sound kind of gross, but my brother and I went with my cousins and the food was SO good that my brother over ate and puked then came back for more. If that doesn’t make you want to come here, then I don’t know what will.

Thank you Unilocal for directing us here! Its our fav local Thai restaurant now :) The atmosphere is quiet and dimly lit(which I love!) and service is friendly, though not always fast, it’s worth the wait. Our favorites are the amazing house friend rice, chicken curry, phở, spring rolls, satay… I just realized I’m listing everything I’ve ever ate there. Lol, I guess I like it all! I took my grandmother here, and she’s not a fan of spicy foods because of the heat factor… she literally had tears running down her cheeks because of the small cup of spicy phở… but kept eating it! It was a hilarious testament to the kind of food you can get here.

2nd review Egg rolls really good. Supper crunchy. Like it was double wrapped or something. There was definitely something. Thin layer of mashed sticky rice maybe? Theres cabbage. I love it. And the pepper taste is present. Served with sweat chili sauce. $ 7… Egg rolls gets a 5*. Ordered a small beef phở.$ 7. Its good but i recommend a phở restaurant for phở if u want it. I think the sweet chili sauce killed my taste buds when i tasted the broth. U get meat ball, round eye, and brisket as the meats. No tendons, no flanks, no tripes… And no thai basil. Phở gets 2*. Would also like peanuts. I’m spoiled.

Wanted to find a Thai Restaurant near my home. After many years decided to stop and try this place. The biggest complaint I have is the service. Waited a while before being acknowledge both times. Place wasn’t busy. After finally being seated, was told someone would be with us. That took a while even for someone to ask what we wanted to drink. Finally got our drinks after we had to ask for some but waiter never came back for refills. Second time the same experience Pretty much we had to flag someone down if we need something. So when you finally get seated be prepared and ask for everything !! Our food took a bit long also. The food is decent. Wanted to give Phở another try, but this time went with the seafood phở. It was pretty good. Also tried the Chicken Larb and Beef pad Thai. Not sure if I would come a third time. Maybe if I don’t want to drive across town. I might stop for the phở and if I’m not in a hurry

Terrible service. It took forever to get our food. The server never came back to refill our drinks. We had to go to the counter to ask for our check and to go boxes. The food was decent but there are better places with much better service.

Solid 4 star for delicious food, minus one star because the service is pretty bland. It’s not bad service or good either, just ok. I haven’t been disappointed after 3 visits. Check it out

The food was alright, but took forever to come out, then once we we were already half way through our meal, our calamari appetizer still hadn’t come out so I told them to cancel it and take it off our bill. We were there for 90 minutes. How hard is it to drop some calamari into a deep fryer?

OHMAN!!! I am so excited to write this review! I have been coming here for years, which in Pre-yelp years is basically like for ever right?!! I found this place by accident a long time ago as some friends and I were traveling south for a desert race, with a vegetarian restriction stow away.(Don’t ask) lol It instantly became a must stop, spot every time! No joking, We’d even drive an hour out of the way in a semi truck just to eat here. And there is plenty of parking for a semi in the lot next door. So if your a big TEN-FOUR on the east bound and down not worry, the rig’ll fit Cleatus! So after frequenting here for years, during every incoming and outbound trip to So-Cal I had to move away loosing my precious California Thai stop… But, now Im finally back!!!, and after 6 years absence this place still blows me away! Yeah, its so good I’ve remembered it for 6 years! Hands down the BEST Thai food in the Central Valley and well worth the drive, jaunt, detour and re-route to get your butts in these seats. Inside is nice and quite, casual enough for a raucous post race lunch with the guys, and/or private enough for a date with the Lady or fella. What ever floats your boat theres no judging here. Spacious with an led lit bamboo island in the middle, full bar and cute waitresses! Everything on the menu is great but the must haves here are the, fresh spring rolls, the Thai beef salad, and the Thai curry. I could alternate between those 3 every day until I die! And for those daring enough, order your«spicy» at level 5! Hot enough to make almost any pepper head clear their throat! Thank you Keothip for rocking my culinary palate and remaining rock solid enough for the past 10yrs to bring back great old memories and help create a few new Thai converts!

Great place to be, great food, excellent ambiance, and on time service. This is my go-to place for first dates, best phở in all of Fresno, my dates would agree. Definitely would recommend to any new comer; especially the chile jam on the secret menu by request. Blows orange chicken out of the water. Service is extremely aware and always able to communicate even at busy hours, the tall waiter is exceptionally good at handing high pressure situations. Exceptionally great service, great food, great ambiance, but their Thai tea is a bit too sweet for my tastes, however delicious for any kind of costumer.

The service is impeccable, seriously one the best I’ve had in a thai restaurant in Fresno, however the food unfortunately was far from perfect, it was not horrible, I lived through my meal just fine, but it does not give a good impression to thai food– it was too sweet, too sour and not freshly flavored with fresh ingredients like how thai food should taste. I know I did not order the wrong things, since I ordered basic authentic thai dishes like tom yam and thai squid salad, and normally these are the dishes that indicate if a thai restaurant is serving authentic dishes, because its the core of their dishes. Nevertheless I was really disappointed with the food, and Im a thai food connoisseur, not only I have tasted some of the best authentic thai food from Thailand and Malaysia, but I also cook them on a weekly basis. Im judging this from a perspective of an asian who understand the right flavors and tasted good thai food. On a different note there are plenty of parking in a private lot, and they do accept credit cards, debit card and cash. Their prices is also expensive compared to other thai places in Fresno, and their portion is stingy. My impression started off good, because the interior was kinda nice for a thai restaurant in Fresno, with neat décor and interior, and the service as I mentioned was impeccable, the waitress was genuinely friendly, really efficient and also was smiling and welcoming throughout the meal. The drinks– durian smoothie $ 4.95 and ice thai tea $ 3.50, although very expensive was pretty good, not the best, but was good enough to drink and enjoy. The experience goes downhill as the food arrived to the table, the grilled squid salad(thai spicy salad) was $ 12.95, and it wasn’t horrible, but the balance of flavors was lacking, the lemongrass dressing was too sweet and had strong striking flavors from tamarind juice. The dressing could have been just made simple, with fresh lime juice, slight sugar, chillies and fish sauce, but instead it was just overwhelmingly sweet and tart. The salad itself was fresh, but portion was very small for the price, there was probably 10 – 15 pieces of small size squid in there, despite the squid being cooked perfectly, it was just not enjoyable since there was so little meat to taste. The chicken tom yum $ 8.95 was by far the worst tom yum I have tasted, so I would avoid this at all cost. The tom yum was too sour from the use of tamarind juice instead of lime juice; lime juice would have given it a fresh and delightful aroma, but instead they used tamarind which was just too acidic, at the same time the soup was overly sweeten, almost like a dessert soup. The chilies used were also not authentic to how thai would normally flavor their soup, normally its done with bird eye chilies which is readily available in fresno asian groceries, but instead they used jalapeño, which is really weird. Finally the filling of chicken and vegetables was also very stingy, there were very few chicken pieces in the soup, but plenty of huge pieces of lemongrass, galangal and sloppily cut vegetables. In a restaurant, when serving tom yum, it is not essential to serve everything in the pot, especially huge chunks of galangal, because it makes the dish look ugly and it shows lack of care from the cook in presentation. Overall I might be back to try other dishes — maybe phở because they say they are the best phở in town and since their service is really good, but I would be on guard with this place since their Thai food lacks real genuine thai food taste.

My rating is for the food alone. If I was rating for the service, they would probably only get 2 stars if I was feeling generous. I was almost to the point of walking out because I had not been waited on after being seated and just left waiting and waiting. I had this intense craving for Thai, and I learned that they are the same operation as the Keothip in Visalia… so I knew that I would like the food, rather than try to find a new place on the fly. I have only been to a couple of Thai places, but I have found that I like Keothip the best, especially their Pad Thai. I was greeted immediately upon my arrival and thought it was a good sign. The place was rather empty but I thought that I would get quick service. I was seated and given a menu. I already knew what I wanted, but I patiently waited. I observed some employees talking with their buddies at the bar and then some customers were trying to get their attention from across the room to get their check. These ladies repeatedly tried getting their attention, calling out to them asking for help, raised their glass, asked for their check and still nothing. I thought to myself…‘great, now I know what I can look forward to.‘ A guy finally came over and took my order. I got some of my favorites, Pad Thai, Orange Chicken and Garlic Sautee with Beef. I also added a Thai Tea, I mean you have to when getting Thai food. The Thai Tea came back and I have to say that it is the only time that I did not really enjoy a Thai Tea. It had way too much cream/sweet for my liking and not enough tea. I drank a little bit to bring it down and then I asked the waiter if he could add some more tea to balance it out. It came back but it still tasted way too sweet, next time I think I would just ask them to remake it. That was a first for me, every place I have ever ordered a Thai Tea was great. Now to the food. I absolutely LOVE their Pad Thai!!! They do their Pad Thai a little different from the couple of places that I have tried and that’s what keeps me coming back, that and their Garlic Sautee. Here they toss their Pad Thai in a sweet Thai peanut sauce that is just so yummy and it really makes the noodles moist and wonderful and sets them apart from the other places I have been. The noodles are cooked to perfection, not chewy or rubbery and the chicken is moist as well. One thing I noticed though is there is not that much egg, although its not a deal breaker. The Orange Chicken is really good, it is lightly battered… not heavy and greasy like you would expect from Panda etc. I like how they garnish it with FRESH orange zest, and you can really taste it. They give you nice strips of chicken too, not cut up little nuggets like other places. My 2nd favorite dish… is the Garlic Sautee Beef!!! Oh YUMMMMMM!!! I do not like spicy dishes and a lot of Thai dishes are spicy, or so that has been my experience when visiting places. Even when I have asked for items to be made not spicy they still come out packing heat. Here, this dish is perfect… there is NO heat, just garlic and LOTS of it. The meat in this dish is so tender, which shocked me. I was thinking it might be like meat in a broccoli beef dish where its a little tough/chewy/fatty, but this meat was so tender and easy to chew. They serve this dish with garlic obviously, bell peppers, cilantro and onions and it is heavenly. I love to order a side of steamed rice and put the toppings over it and eat it that way. I even love to put the juices from the sautee over the rice. I could possibly go without ordering the Orange Chicken… and possibly be talked out of the Pad Thai if I absolutely HAD to choose, because this dish is so AMAZINGLY delicious!!! I highly recommend this dish to any garlic lovers/likers. It even keeps well in the fridge and tastes just as good the next day. Overall my experience at this location was a little lackluster, ok very lackluster. When the waiter was paying attention to my table however he was friendly, so he does get recognition for that. The food didn’t take long to be prepared and it came out perfect. The restaurant was very clean, even the restroom. A fellow Unilocaler had posted a pic of an unkempt fish tank, and I’m happy to report that they have cleaned it… I bet the fish are happy ;) At this location it seemed as if I was served bigger portions compared to the Visalia location… so I may have to come here again ;) I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for some good Thai food, especially bomb Pad Thai and Garlic Beef!!! Just know going in that service may be lacking, order to go if that is an option

We used to live close by and came here often. There was no such thing as Unilocal back then. Because we were in the area, we decided to drop by and have a bite. The food is every bit as good as we remember. The green curry with chicken is as good as my Thai sister-in-law’s curry. The staff was very pleasant. Food came out quickly. It will be a destination now, not just a place to eat if we are nearby. Go to Keothip

Would have been a 4 star review but the last two encounters have been bad, so it’s been knocked down to two. All my in-house experiences were great except the long wait for service and food. These last two times I’ve called to place orders for take out. The first take out experience was marred because they forgot to give us the Pad Thai we ordered and gave us something else. When we called to correct the situation the person on the other line denied it and said he gave us what we ordered. Eventually after talking with him for 5 min he said he’d have it ready for us to pick up. Luckily we only live 5 min away. The second time I called for take out no one answered. I tried calling 6 times over 30 min and it rang several times before beeping as though I were calling a fax machine. We ended up ordering take out from Pete’s Teriyaki which wasn’t too bad. Sucks for keothip, my friend and I were going to place a large order too. I don’t think I’ll be going back. There are better Thai restaurants in Fresno like Gem of Thailand.
