It’s not in the best area of town but that’s where the best food places are located. I am only rating the bakery part and it was great. They have cases filled with tons of sweet bread. They taste so fresh and good. The bread is still nice and soft the next day. They did not have my rose concha on this day. The problem is that they don’t have prices for any of the bakery stuff so it all depends on the cashier once you go to pay for your items.

I was so disappointed that they didn’t have elote in a cup anymore or tostilocos. No more of the goodie stuff. Only Mexican bread and tamales and tortas. Their tamales are ok. Place was very clean and the bread looked good

Excellent! Huge selection of baked goods… Coffee/Cappuccino machines… Homemade Champurrado… Can’t beat it. Great people and service.

La estrella has, big mexican sweet bread, pretty good size for the cost. BUT, the bread lacks flavor. In other countries estrella bread is considered pan de agua, because of the size. Maybe if they add a little cinnamon to their conchas and tortugas it might add that special flavor.

La Estrella is the best panaderia in Fresno without a doubt. I have been coming here with my family for many years, back before they remodeled the location into the modern building that exists there today. The bread is soft and delicious. My favorite is a white concha.

Their bread is always moist and delicious and stays that way for days. The best part of this place, however, isn’t their pan – it’s the food. Their king torta, chicken tamales, and champurrado are amazing. The chicken tamales have a bit of green salsa in it that gives a tiny kick without being overwhelming. I can’t count the number of times I drove all the way from north Fresno during the winter just to have tamales and champurrado. Easily my favorite panaderia in town.

The place is small but the food is great. The fruit is fresh and the corn is buttery and cheesy hot. So tasty. There are no restrooms and minimal seating so be prepared to eat in your car or stand outside. The price is pretty reasonable foe the quality of food. There were 2 people when we walked in and about 15 when we left. Its pretty noisy inside with the blenders going on so be prepared to yell.

I love love estrella bakery… their tres leche cakes are very good. We ordered my daughters baptism cake from Here and everyone from all cultures who never had it just loved it !!! I love their soft tacos… their apple turnovers are best in town, I think. .if you warm up it in oven… it flaky and perfect… Most of all, I just love how they are family owned and my Hispanic colleagues tell me this business has been around forever! And the people who work there are so nice to me… I wish there were more places like this around. …

I was pleasently surprised to have some tasty Mexican pastries! I live north of Nees and east of Ceder and there is little to choose from if you are looking for authentic Mexican Pastry or food for that matter. It was fresher before Noon then it was @. 6:00 but still good. Go early and it is fab!

I love the bread! But since I saw one of the bakers in the alley blowing his nose with his hand and wiping it on his apron kinda gross me out.

I went to purchase a cake for my mother’s bday. The employee who helped me did not write down what I wanted on the cake. Then when it was time to cut the cake and serve it, the cake was stale! I’m sure it had to have been sitting in the bakery for days! It was as hard as a rock! Worst $ 25 bucks I ever spent. I’m never taking my money there ever again!

I enjoyed the food that I ate at Panaderia, but the Agua Fresca wasn’t good. I should have ordered a smoothie instead.

I was encouraged by a coworker to check out this panaderia. So on my next break I went specifically to get cup of coffee and some pan dulce. I was impressed. This place was very clean, friendly and had an incredible atmosphere. I ordered a cup of coffee, a pumpkin empenada(I was feeling festive), and some conchas. 10s across the board this place was great. If you find yourself in southeast Fresno and your looking for some authentic freshly baked pan dulce this is the place to go.

The food was amazing and crazy cheap! Chipotle chicken was the best, carnita was good just a little greasy, the rice is just like grandma’s. The pastries were soft and fresh

I am still looking for a place with good mexican bread. The interior is clean and we didn’t eat the food we were just looking for the bread. It was okay in my opinion, but just okay. They do have good prices and a great looking coffee bar. This would be the place to eat in and have a nice breakfast treat but that was factoring in the atmosphere. I think that the bread was good enough but just not what I was hoping for. It is worth a try and a review, you might like it more than I did.

Mexican pastries reminds me of my childhood. It’s impossible to avoid these delicious baked treats especially growing up in Fresno! I love being able to choose from an array of colorful sweet breads that leaves me wanting to come back for more! Chocolate conchas are all time favorite so I was more than excited to check this place out by my brother’s suggestion. My first reaction was, «OHMY!» I seriously didn’t know where to start! Even though this place was a full house after 8PM on a weekday, my eyes were set on all sweet breads they had to offer. I couldn’t ask for a better selection. Even though it was already late at night, the turnover of fresh baked goods was not a problem. They seem to bake throughout the day. Overall, I will definitely be visiting this place whenever I’m back in town. Don’t forget to pick up their ice cream bars(coconut ice cream FTW) or fresh tamales for a late snack!

Aside from being a primo bakery, La estrella has the Best tacos in Fresno, Hands down. The pastor is killer, and their tostadas de ceviche are awesome. Really nice interior and good service as well. Don’t bother with other taquerias. You have reached Ground Zero.

I travel to Fresno for work quite often, and I was highly interested in checking this place out because of my love for conchas. The place looks a little rough on the exterior because it’s in a shopping strip that’s currently being constructed, but I knew I had to try anyway. It’s your standard panaderia where you grab a tray and tongs and grab items until your heart’s content — or at least until the tray’s so full, something just about falls off. I mainly focus on the conchas and the various cookies(my fav are the pink sugar ones, when they have them). They had a blueberry sugar cookie last time I went, and although not very common in my mind, it was delicious. But they also have a few refrigerated items and Takis, popular in Mexico… a rolled up torilla chip with Fajita or Salsa Brava flavor. Mmm. The stuff is always fresh and STAYS fresh for a couple days. As I mentioned, I only go when I travel so I try to stock up to last me through my trip and the conchas actually stay fresh. I tried Panaderia Natalie the last time I was out there and the conchas were hard as a rock the next morning. Both were stored in the same paper bag they give you. Yada yada yada. You should check this place out. Hey — what are you still reading this review for? Go!

I can’t speak for their other items, but their semitas/conchas(those pan dulces with compacted sugar designs on the top) from this Mexican bakery are the best and hugest I’ve had in all of California. Whenever I visit family in Fresno, my aunt makes sure we leave with a bag of conchas from her favorite panaderia. They’re warm in the morning and they taste fresh for days! Each of the different colors – brown, yellow, and white sugar – have their own distinct flavor, unlike others I’ve had in my beloved SF. Brown taste like chocolate, white tastes like vanilla, and yellow… well, I don’t know exactly haha, but it doesn’t taste like chocolate or vanilla. If you’re ever dragged to Fresno – I mean really, who comes to Fresno unless they live here or know someone who does? – make a stop here for a warm, sugary treat.
