Leo’s Smog

Came here on accident. I was at another smog shop that was busy and told me to try Leo’s, maybe they both know each other. I met Leo and he seems like a friendly guy. I told him my situation with another shop that gave me trouble. I explained to him the situation and this time I had the CARB sticker. He looked it up and said everything was good. The other place said my CARB number on the sticker was no good but they didn’t understand what they were reading. Quick and easy with no issues with fair pricing.

I met Leo a few years back before he had his own shop and he has always been a stand up guy. I happened to be in town for a car show and my truck needed to be smogged so I stopped by to see if he could squeeze me in. As luck would have it he was able to get me in right away but unfortunately I failed due to high Nox emissions which meant I needed a new catalytic converter. I was afraid of that since I had been told after my last smog that I had passed but not by much and that I would probably need a new one soon. I called around to a couple muffler shops around town and luckily found a place that had one in stock. After that I came back and passed with flying colors. Thanks Leo, you’re a great guy and I hope that people read past these couple negative reviews on here to see that you’re an honest hardworking guy.

After reading reviews on Unilocal,I decided to take my 2007 BMW 335i to Leo’s Smog since it is close to my office downtown. The place is run down and the service tech. was no where to be found. I was getting ready to leave when he came out and asked if he could help me.
He completed the smog and asked me if my car had a turbo. I said yes, they are stock on these cars. He called a friend to ask if a turbo is stock on a 335i since he didn’t know. His friend did not know either.
He failed my cars smog because he stated the turbo is not stock on my car. The smog report said my car passed, but physical inspection failed my car. After explaining to him that research or a google search would show him the facts of the vehicle, he took my keys and said it is failed and if I want my keys I need to pay for the inspection. I asked what I needed to bring him to prove it is stock, and he said I don’t know some type of documentation. I paid and left. I gathered all of his business information to file a formal complaint.
I would expect a shop in the automotive industry to know its trade and to have adequate resources to look up information when it doesn’t know something. The professional thing to do would have been to refuse to smog my car since he wasn’t familiar with it. I took my car to get a smog at Smog Master the next day and it passed with no issues.
I went here to get my smog because it was convenient and close to work. I strongly recommend anyone looking to get a smog to stay away from here!!!

Superfast Service and very friendly. Open very early so it was convenient to get this done before work. I will definitely use him again and recommend.
The waiting room is not much to look at, but the service is so fast you don’t even really notice. There is a TV and a handy remote for you to change the channels yourself.
There is a bulletin board with business cards stapled on very nice and neatly organized. It shows that they are proud of their business and proud to display local businesses as well.
