Officemax

I really wasn’t prepared for this semester (read my entire college career) so I needed to pick up some items. I specifically needed a ton of notebooks, sticky notes, a planner and tissues for my tears I will shed this semester.
It seems that Office Max and Office Depot are one. I’m not sure but I will go by what the shopping bag says and label it as Office Max/​Depot.
This location is close to me; the River Park parking lots can be a bit brutal but on this Friday evening, no one was really stopping by to Office Max/​Depot for a rager. The place is clean but there is no customer service at all. I was met by absolute silence in the store! It was surreal.
They had $ 1.00 note books which were really affordable. They were also have a sale on Post-​It products and I bought a few. What I did not get here was the planner. The cheapest reasonable planner sold here was around $ 15.00, which I KNEW other places sold them far cheaper for this place. There were others but they were the size of a credit card and were still around $ 8.00.
Looking back, this place has items that are reasonably priced and other items that are a bit out of my price range! I’ve always liked Office Depot/​Max so I’ll probably come back when I run out of tissues!

Very poor customer service. Went in to purchase toner for one of the many printers at the office. I gave the number of what I believed was the model of the printer and was told «That’s like walking into a hardware store and saying I need a pipe.» I politely said I’d figure it out but frustrated walked out of the store. A quick search on google of the number I had given the customer service rep and behold, it was my printer. Walked back into the store with the toner cartridge number and right on the front it had a listing of the printers it works with, including mine. It would have taken less than a minute for him to bring up the same thing on a computer, but unfortunately the rep chose sarcasm instead of good customer service skills.
They also only had black and not color, which is fine since the printer isn’t the newest model. Will not be coming to this store again. Customer service is key.

I haven’t had much exposure to this store. I’ve been twice (one time being today).
Obviously it’s in a convenient location. My wife and I go to River Park all the time for errands. The staff seem helpful.
My little one has to ride a cart. The first one we grabbed had one half of the seat belt missing. That’s not good attention to detail.
But, overall, they seem to have a wide variety of products, interesting stuff on sale, and a clean store.

Went in and tried out a ton of different office chairs. Finally found one I liked so I bought it, took it to work and assembled it. It felt completely different from when I tried it in the store and I HATED it. Absolutely miserable in that chair (I sit for like 8 hours a day). I was soo bummed because I don’t make a ton and this chair was a considerable expenditure for me. But I called them up and they said, «no big deal, just bring it back and pick out another.» Sure enough I took it back and they even had someone come get it out of my car for me. I didn’t even have to take it apart and put it back in the back. The manager then pointed out a few chairs he thought i’d like instead and I got one of those. Now I have an awesome chair and the whole experience was very pleasant. When so many things in life become unnecessary difficult, it is really nice when something that could be difficult goes smoothly because of an excellent return policy and good customer service.
Seriously, life is hectic and I really appreciate how smoothly this went.

its an office supply store. the only place they compete with is office depot. there isnt much else to say. i went to get a rolling laptop bag and they had one i liked. customer service at this store was friendlier than most. you can find better prices on individual items online and at places like costco. but, if youre not in the mood to shop around and want the convenience of getting everything at one place, then this place works.

Was lured in by a very good buy, $ 7.88 for a 1GB jump drive. Needed a bunch for my students. They only had 6, but a very helpful sales associate, Cielo, asked how many I needed and proceeded to order them for me. Since they were being shipped to the store and not my home, I didn’t have to pay shipping. My order is expected to arrive in 2 days. So if they’re out of stock of an item, be sure to ask if it can be ordered.

Yes, it’s Office Max, and I love MY Office Max, but this one is in River Park, so it gets minus star for that. I don’t like the lighting in the store, so minus a star; the clerks are of very little help and the store is not laid out in a friendly manner, so another minus. Maybe I’m being kind with two stars. I only go to this one if my store is out of what I need, or if I’m already at Berean, which is next door.
