Seriously my new favorite phở place in town noodles cooked perfectly and a perfect ratio of beef to noodle on the number 13 plate

Phở is really not my thing. I’m sure it is from years of primarily American foods. this was my first time trying it. The food had flavor and I tasted three different things. The beef bowl #1. A noodle and beef plate and the chicken soup. Chicken soup was more to my palate and was good. What I can’t get over is the cleanliness of this place. YUK! should of left as soon as I entered and had trouble navigating to my table over a lightly grease coated floor. But I wanted to see what it was all about and these decisions or rather change in decisions are much harder when you have young children that me and the wife spent some time on to get there. Ordered what I mentioned earlier. Then I noticed the cooks were delivering the plates to the tables. One of the cooks had this shirt on that was stained, dirt in the armpit area and dirty as one could get!!! Then a trip to the restroom left me in awwww. Looked as if it had not been clean in weeks and the urinal had a discoloring because of sub-par cleaning. I don’t think anything more needs to be said. Stay away from this gross and disgusting restaurant. If they can’t clean this place imagine the what is not cleaned in the kitchen.

They upgraded there interior. Sometimes service sucks here. Did not get any water at all. Had to go up ask for it. After requesting for some water! Bout to choke and die! But like it here. It it’s own atmosphere. No fancy chairs music or none of that. Just decent.

My favorite place for phở. The service isn’t all that great, depending on who you get. However, all of the staff is very nice and the food never disappoints!

I’ve had so many bad run ins with this phở place, but I go back bc the phở is pretty good. When the lady owner is there, we get really great service, but when it’s run by just her workers, we get really bad service. Never get our waters refilled, and just the other day, there were cockroaches just roaming around like they ran that place. YUCK! It has definitely deteriorated over the years! Two stars for the good phở though, I suppose.

Great spot to get some tasty hot Phở! Meat was well cut and not fatty like other places I’ve been to. Broth was clean and just right. Spring rolls were ordered as an appetizer, but came after our soup. Not a big deal because they were amaze balls. So fresh and flavorful. Place is pretty clean. Service was good. Will return very soon :)

I have the large order of rare beef and tendon phở. I have eaten in a number of places in this neighborhood so I know what to expect such as cash only, rough looking part of town and some sketchy people on the parking lot. I agree that this place is among the better phở places in Fresno. My only gripe is than my phở had very small chunks of tendon instead of a good bite portions. I know it is like splitting hairs here but I prefer Paradise just down the street for this dish

As I am writing this, I am reminded by the phrase«one man’s gravy is another man’s poison», and my sincere thoughts is to covey that this place appeals to me for its mouth watering vietnamese food selection, but to some it may seem repugnant for its CASH only policy and its ambience clearly overlooked for details. In my opinion, its almost impossible to have a classy Phở restaurant in these rundown section of the city(you could get nicer phở restaurants in north parts of Fresno/Clovis), however the charm and attraction of visiting a restaurant like this is the authentic taste, budget friendly pricing and the uncommon menu selection. What attracts me to Phở #1 is certainly its delicious bowl of Beef Phở which can be enjoyed as early at 7.30am for breakfast/brunch or as late as 11pm for supper, by the same token its other food selection such as the noteworthy rice plates, seafood Phở, Chicken Food and and appetizers is worth exploring. My personal favorite is their rare steak phở, flank, tripe and tendon phở, a humble small size for $ 5.99. The broth itself is simply delicious– its flavor is a perfect marriage of the earthy taste of beef bones cooked for hours, charred onions and ginger, coupled with the rich taste of spices(cinnamon, fennel star anise, clove and cardamon). There is also a perfect balance of sweetness and saltiness to this broth. The most important step when my steaming hot broth comes to the table, is to savor and appreciate the taste of the broth, by smelling the aroma and taking that first sip, I would not recommend adjusting the broth with any sriracha or hoisin, because that would clearly destroy and manipulate the taste. For the price of $ 5.99, the bowl is seriously generous, and comes with a ample amount of meat especially for protein lovers like myself. The noodles is perfectly al dante, and their spring herbs condiments was fresh, clean and crisp. The lemongrass chicken with steam rice $ 7.99 was absolutely divine. The chicken was perfectly grilled, tender to bite, while the taste of the chicken was a perfect balance of aroma from the infusion of lemongrass, saltiness and slight sweetness. The rice was certainly fragrant, an indicator that quality jasmine rice was used. The portion of the meat is always generous considering the modest price per plate, which always satisfies my huge appetite. Generally speaking this is a perfect place to have an authentic taste of vietnamese food at affordable pricing. The interior itself and service is no where noteworthy(as I had mentioned, might be appalling to the elitist in all of us), but it certainly is comfortable considering this parts of town. The taste is certainly genuine and delicious Vietnamese food, and would attract me time and time again. Their broad opening hours makes it a great destination for breakfast, but also a nice place for late dinners. Parking is certainly not an issue here since there are plenty on its front lot, the only major issue is its cash only policy, so do remember to bring cash(yes they do have an ATM inside– but the charges is ridiculous ;l$ 2 and up).

This is update number 3: After 3 more visits, their Phở has consistently been good. The flavor has been good every time, the quality of ingredients good, and the portions are bigger than almost everyone else. Even the portions of their non-Phở dishes are pretty darn big. Service has been good and the price is cheap. Phở 75 #2 is in the same strip of building(around the corner) but this place is winning in my opinion. They stay open late too. I recommend giving this place a try if you haven’t already. They’ve really stepped up their game.

Been here numerous times with friends and family never disappointed. Been to alot of phở restaurants in fresno and they have the best tasting broth. It’s a hole in the wall, with canned sodas no fountain drinks. But then again go for the phở not the sodas, lol. The strawberry and pineapple smoothies were delicious not too sweet. I’d recommend for after dinner.

I came here about 3 times in the last 10 years, then decide to go to 75#2 until their service and food flavors changed for the worse. I thought I would go and give Phở #1 a try and I’m glad I did. Their Phở is more flavorful and more meat is put into there soups. This is now my goto spot for Phở

This is our go-to Phở restaurant. Everyone in town has their favorite. I go here for the grilled pork-chops, but the soup of course is legit. Service is always fast and the servings are plentiful.

One year later, and this place still has the best phở I’ve ever had. I’m adding one more star due to the fact that THEYNOWACCEPTCARDS. Yup, they take debit and credit cards now, and it’s awesome.

The eggrolls, although poorly wrapped were delicious! The place was packed yet service was quick. All the food was great! Plus, we’re visiting from Wisconsin and this is our second time here. I will return next time I come to Fresno

Phở is good. Good Price. I got the #8 . The pace is kind of dirty. Dirty tables and lots of flies. Only thing was the food that was good.
