Had R&S come out an replace my garage door spring for $ 170 which I was told included a warranty on their work. When I tried opening the door the morning after the repair it would not open but only go up six inches then go back down then up six inches and stop. I would have to disconnect the door to get it to stay down. After calling three times over the next few days I finally got some response and they said someone would come by that evening or next day. No one called or showed up. Finally a couple days later I called again, finally the guy who fixed it called and said it was not the spring tension but a problem with my door opener. He said he would charge another service call to come back. Some warranty… I called another company to schedule a service call because I wasn’t about to give R&S any more money. The guy was nice enough to ask over the phone what kind of opener I had, then said turn the left screw on the back of the controller a half turn and try it while he waited. Walah it worked. He went on to say the guy didn’t do a good job checking it for correct operation. He needed to open it several times checking it because the new spring may have a stronger tension than the old one and the opening/closing tension adjustments needed to be fine tuned to match the new spring. I am sure there are many honest companies out there, R&S has shown they’re not one of them. Yeah some warranty, anything to make a buck off an unsuspecting senior citizen!

Overpriced $ 150 and hour, Not very professional. 1st time repaired damaged slab bottom section of service door and bottom bar for $ 450, from aluminum to an iron bar, job was OK, even though it took 3 trips to get it OK. Within 2 days door was falling out of track due to new side pieces being too short and falling out of track, door got jammed, so I called them, replaced a few pieces grabbing them from my old door(which I had told them in the beginning to do so). Door got jammed again, came by greased it re-aligned it, was working fine for another few months, was happy with first job Omar used to take care of details. However Recently door was jammed, so I called them again! Door was working up & down but very tight, service man said bottom gear of hoist had a chip, so he place a washer as a spacer, also said he had to tension door, I said you guys serviced it and left it dropping real hard last time you guys replace that section. He said this was not part of the same warranty so had to pay and said this job would not be guaranteed due to chip on tooth of bottom gear. I said well I wish you’d told me this before fulfilling this job, now if I want to do it right, I’ll have to pay again. He said«Oh and watch your head as the gear may come falling down on your head, because we left it a bit loose». This job was a few bucks under $ 200. I called shop they told me there was nothing I could do, I figure the only thing I can do is tell you about them so you can shop around, there’s $ 60-$ 80 an hour shops and more professional because by the way they used my ladders and some of my tools. You would think for $ 150 and hour rate, they would be more professional. VERYDISSAPOINTED, I wouldn’t be as mad just for the charge, that’s fine, but for them to do a «Mickey Mouse Job» and charge $ 190…Please!!! I will have to pay someone else to fix or fix myself maybe by placing a spacer and a pin at the end of the bolt for safety. I’M TIREDOFCLIMBINGONMYLADDERTOFIXNUTTHATGETSLOOSEEVERYDAY, BUT I HAVETO, OTHERWISETHISTHINGWILLLANDINMYHEADANDPROBABLYKILLME. I just called them today, we’ll see if they fix it or we end up in small claims court. Talked to the Manager Mike, he said he would do a courtesy call and go from there, it’s been 2 weeks. I think I will not call them again, I’ll just fill out the Small Claims Court Forms.
