This is a delightful little market to enjoy a lunch. My mom and I were enamored with this place during a couple different day trips to Fresno. All of their dishes are made with local ingredients, and they are well-composed. Between our two trips, my mom and I had moussaka, quiche, salmon salad, and a sandwich. We also had a refreshing glass of peach sangria(the peaches were in seasonYUMMMMM). Anywho, go here if you want a lunch that is delicious and not complicated.

If you’re looking for a delicious cup of soup and hearty panini, look no further! This is my go to place for lunch. Not to mention they have an amazing wine collection and wine bar! And don’t even get me started on their sweet treats! I love Sierra Nut House!

Pretty good prices on wine. The few times I have been in the lady(I’m assuming is an owner) looks like your bothering her. Very unfriendly and cold.

This place was a sweet little find. We were traveling through the area and wanted to find a different little breakfast stop, besides Starbucks. The breakfast burrito was delicious and the Italian roast coffee was so smooth and yummy! The girl behind the counter was sweet and kind. Everyone was really nice! Finding this place was definitely a highlight to our morning! Check it out! There are so many goodies to look at and buy too. :)

So, I have been to Sierra Nut house several times over and have had pretty positive experiences. The last time that I visited I asked the customer service associates for recommendations on what they thought best represented Fresno. You see I had to bring stuff to a meeting that best represented my hometown. I knew for a fact that it would be agriculture but I needed them to narrow it down. The first items suggested were raisins. However, I did not want to be weird girl that only brought raisins to her meeting. So I told them to point me to their best selling items which ended up including, pistachios, almonds and my personal favorite toffee almonds. The staff is always pretty nice, I’m not going to save the were overly friendly or excited to help me but they were okay. So while I love their products, I’m not going to lie the customer service could use a little improvement.

This place is known by the general population of the community that they are racist. I keep hearing it over an over. The employees aren’t nice at all. They stare at you like as of you’re from another planet. The ambiance is nice, but you won’t get a nice welcome unless you’re from an ag clique. They are very cliquish. I am white and was treated like they had to force themselves to be nice. When I went with a couple of other different people(since I’m all about giving people chances) they were bye rude. I would just like to add though, that the surrounding businesses are just as bad. For instance, Ulta beauty.

Well I only worked here for two months back in 2011. And I would also stop by on my off days to shop around. Awesome stuff. I love what they carry and a friendly staff. I’m thinking about stopping by sometime soon again

Never had a bad experience until last week. Waited at the front cash register for about five minutes unrecognized. Finally a clerk from the other side of the store spoke from across the store in the café section that I would have to come over there to pay. Bought several packages one of which was Black Truffle Oil almonds for $ 14+ The clerk said they were awesome. Seven of my family members tried them and were disgusted with the taste of them. Since they were not cheap, I decided to return them with a receipt for proof of purchase. Took another 5 minutes to be waited on(unrecognized) as well as another couple there could not get service. The young man was nice, but of course had to get approval for the return. He came back out to say his boss would have to contact management to get approval for the return. Waited another 8 – 10 minutes and the young man came over to say he would check on the status. His boss couldn’t get hold of the manager and no returns allowed on food products by law. What?! I have had to return a few food products to our local food markets through the years for different reasons with no questions asked. it’s not like they are going to put them back on the shelf to re-sell.she said they can’t help it if I didn’t care for them. How about 6 other people? If I bought a carton of bad milk, wouldI automatically lose $ 4.00 at my grocer? NO! EVENIF it is against the law to return food products that doesn’t excuse them from taking care of a customer. So, don’t take the actual food back but TAKECAREOFYOURCUSTOMERANDGIVETHEM A REFUNDORATTHEVERYLEASTSTORECREDIT! I am confident if I were a regular customer who spent hundreds of dollars every year on all their gift baskets, they would have taken care of them. Good bye Sierra Nut House. I’m sure fresh nuts are rarely returned, but in this case they needed to be.

On April 29th I was contacted by Debbie at Sierra Nut House. She made arrangements to re-send the assortment that was originally ordered, but was left on the stoop. The package arrived safely and my son and daughter-in-law are delighted. A BIGTHANKYOU to Debbie!

Love their sandwiches. If I have the time(not necessarily a quick place to eat, but well worth the wait) it is a nice relaxing environment, with great service.

Nice selection of wines, nut products, gifts and delicious sugar-free candies. The vegetarian panini sandwich is excellent. Roasted peppers, caramelized onion, eggplant and lots of flavorful mozzarella cheese on delicious ciabatta bread. Make sure and ask for cheese otherwise they will assume you’re vegan.

Here is my problem, I really wanted to like this place and it just didn’t happen. Twice I had such terrible service there I walked out both times. First, I wentes to order a couple of trays for a work event, I was told they couldnt help me at this time and was asked to come back later when someone might be able to help. Then this holiday season I tried to order two hundred dollars of gift cards and was told they ran out of gift cards and they couldn’t help me. After getting upset with the them and getting ready to walk out they young lady kindly shouted after me, would you at least like a free sample? There needs to be an atitude shakeup and staff switch for them to survive, just be wary.

I love Sierra Nut House. It is old school Fresno. I miss the freshness of ingredients when I am away. The day of my visit I had the soup and salad combination. The leafy greens were VERY fresh and soup was a pumpkin soup topped with asiago cheese. It was yummy. My only critique was that it was a bit small. But as people tend to over eat these days, this was a great sized small portion. Again, yummy! If you love to stay fit, this might be your place.

this review is for the J Sorrenti wine bar inside. it’s a cute location, and the woman at the register was nice. you can basically order a glass of wine, an espresso drink/tea, and lunch items like sandwiches, soup and salad. there is indoor and outdoor seating. i had a glass of wine, a panini with a lentil side salad, and an espresso drink. the panini was made with what seemed to be plain sliced white bread, and the veggies needed to be cut into bite-sized pieces. the espresso was pretty bitter as well. if i came here again, i’d stick to the alcohol and salad. outside seating was ok– listening to the fountain was nice, but some music or more privacy(plants?) would be nice.

These guys have a great selection. The prices can be a little high, but the quality is there so if your able to make the investment, you can get some good dried fruits/nuts. And they are local so ya gotta love that. The service was quite cheerful and helpful as well. All in all they are good, but I still prefer Simonian Farms for other reasons. :)

I have used them the last two years to mail out gift baskets on behalf of my company. They have followed my directions and made it very easy to send out up to 20 different orders via UPS. My customers love it. Personally, I love to bring their products as a gift when I am visiting friends out of town. Sierra Nut House is a wonderful brand to share from the Valley.

The SNH at the Villaggio Center should be rated on different scales since it has a retail, bistro, and wine bar component. Nut, Fruit, Assorted Snacks, Gourmet Foods, Gift Basket Retail shop — 3 – 3.5 stars You would be hard pressed to find a place in this local area to find the selection of local nuts, dried fruits, and assorted snacks(healthy and not). The gift baskets are some of the best around that provide local products(i.e figs) that might be hard to find elsewhere and give that gift idea that extra special touch. This portion alone would edge it closer to 3.5 stars, but the wine retail component brings the overall retail component back down to 3 stars. Wine Retail — 2.5 stars The wine retail side has a nice selection of small producers along with the usual popular labels. The prices are usually around the local average, although better prices are easily found at other wine retail establishments if you do your homework. I find that for the most part the retail workers are not that knowledgeable about wine, usually directing people to only popular labels like Rombauer or Frank Family(Hey if that floats your boat then great, drink what you like, but you are missing out on some truly great wine out there produced by other labels) and/or sweeter red wines lacking character and complexity… a la JaM or oak bombs like Franciscan Estates. Kind of sad when there is a lot of great wine that stock their shelves, especially the Pinot Noir selection. Selling wine is a relationship business and the wine plays 2nd fiddle to the rest of the retail store, hence the small area it occupies. Bistro — 2.5 stars The food is solid, but unimaginative and boring because the menu hardly evolves and is predictable. The sandwiches hardly change, the soups seem like they are on a rotating schedule and once in a blue moon they will produce new seasonal desserts, but they also tend to tread on the same old beaten path. What saves this place is the use of fresh ingredients, other then that the place definitely needs new creative direction. Otherwise it feels more like an upscale deli. Can I get a premium 3 cheese melt on Ciabbatta? Even a classic prosciutto, mozzarella, and basil sandwich with olive oil and balsamic is missing from the menu. Que Catastrophe! How about a red pepper or pesto jalapeño hummus instead of that same old hummus plate on the menu? Maybe introduce some small flat bread pizzas. I could go on and on but then I would have to charge you a consulting fee. The cheese selection is above-average, not quite up to par with the cheese counter at Whole Foods, but it definitely has merit. Wine Bar — 2 stars The wine bar… now this bar has a hard time competing with the other wine bars in town because it also lacks imagination and staff that are knowledgeable about wine. Weekly tastings like BV? No. Winemaker series pouring wine? No. Wine Brokers pouring flights from their portfolio? No. Little hors d’oeuvres with wkly wine tastings? No. Although it has weekly music on Wednesday and Friday night by Peter the 1 man band, if you are a regular you soon grow weary of hearing the same songs twice a week that too often it feels like a CD on repeat. The bar is kind of like an afterthought. Granted you can purchase your bottle in the store and pop the cork for free, but the bar lacks character and has no draw because it plays 2nd fiddle to the retail establishment. You want to run a true wine bar, then during the bar hours you need to separate it from the retail component. All in all this place has it strengths, i. e the Retail nut shop and gift baskets, but the other 2 components of this place are lacking and need retooling. Compared to other wine bars in the area like BV and the new updated V&F, I’d say that it is at a complete disadvantage and has to step up its game or maybe consider sticking to its core business and concentrating more on what it does best… the nut business. That is what ppl typically think the SNH is anyways.

Sierra Nut House has been around for a long time. They were once at Bullard and Palm and I would stop in there A LOT. Then they moved out to Villagio, tucked back in a corner, and I sort of forgot about them. They do the most beautiful gift baskets. Just go in, pick out whatever you want, get a bottle of wine(they are very helpful), and presto, magic, they produce this beautiful basket, all done up ready to give. I love it. Pricey, but worth it.
