I don’t understand why this place has bad review either. This place is a great place with very friendly staff and a welcoming atmosphere. Many old people go here it’s a very homey place. Getting a nice steak and a buffet is great when your very hungry food has always been delicious.

I had the 12oz. NY steak it was amazing cooked to perfection med. rare an very tender. It was one of those steaks that was great by itself. The salad bar was good freshly stocked an clean. Our server Shanae was awesome. could’ve been nicer without the screaming kids but oh well. All in all it was great

The food was not as good as I thought it would be it was made from cans and nothing was made from scratch. the outside ones they had lobster but it tasted like ham rolled up into a ball. my mother told me that they used to have a lot more which I remember and they took a lot out. they had an assortment of vegetables varying from corn that wasn’t out of a can to fresh mashed potatoes. they also had an assortment of fruits everything from fresh water melon to cantaloupe and pears and even strawberries.

We ate at Sizzler last evening and it was nice experience. The salad bar was kept stocked-never had to ask if anything could be refilled/replaced. The steak, chicken, and baked potato were delicious. The server we had would bring us a refill on drinks before we ever asked. They still bring out that warm cheese bread when you sit, its a nice touch. It was packed when we went, but there really wasn’t a wait for anything. Great management.

Last time there was 11/16/2014. This time the ham was cold, not warm; the scrambled eggs were dry. The scramble eggs always have liquid at the bottom. They use to have Fresh bananas out on the salad bar, fresh apples and other whole fruit, but not for a few years. I think it is time for me to locate a good breakfast buffet.

Outdated, looks like a China buffet turned into a «steak» house The salad bar was horrible, the food was over cooked and bland, Out of a 16.00 salad bar I was able to enjoy a few deserts and that was questionable. Staff is slow, I had an empty drink cup most of my visit Very disappointed

My ex took me out here last week with our kids. The food was bland tasting and he ordered two steaks well done. They came out pink mine was bloody. Disappointed because I didn’t even know it was still around and I never ate there. It wasn’t great but well at least he paid.

Slow service tonight. Didn’t even bring extra plates for salad bar until I asked. Half my steak was the right temperature. Seemed like they did not want to be there tonight and those that did only cared about the large groups. Never had this bad a service ever!

I don’t understand why there are such bad reviews, this place seem like an average Sizzler with better than average salad bar choices. Their prices are comparable to the Sizzlers in Sacramento and I seen things at the Fresno location salad bar that we don’t have here in Sac so I think that’s pretty neat. While the décor of the place is a little outdated, and could definitely use a pick-me-up, the floor, tables, and self serve areas were pretty clean. We arrived on a Wednesday afternoon and the place was totally packed with young families, older couples, and police on their lunch break. We were a group of 7 and were able to be seated immediately and each of us order the salad bar plus a couple entrees. The bottle of red we ordered with our dinner was cheap but good, which is much like Sizzler’s food. This isn’t 5 star fancy food but it is a nice place to go with a group on a budget(hovering around $ 110 for seven people including all food, soft drinks, a bottle of wine, and taxes) and still make everyone happy since there is a wide variety of food to choose from. We were all very satisfied with our early dinner and the service was good, the staff were friendly and trying hard to make our dinner a good one, the only things that perturbed me was that I really wanted my water refilled and after asking twice I left without getting any more water. I understand though that our waiter was pretty busy and looked a little haggard running around trying to help everyone but I was thirsty and the wine did not quench it. And the other was that my that my grandma had to wait a while for some coffee to be refilled and it took a while to get our to go boxes. It was probably just an unusually busy Wednesday so its no big deal. All in all, I would go back.

I work at a restaurant so I know how service is supposed to be. And my server was so rude and nonhappy. My pasta was disgusting and she was to no help. I will definitely not come back. Plus my chicken tasted rubbery and pasta sauce was not that seasoned.

Imagine a company where the goal is to make facsimiles of food items at the lowest possible cost and where everything is ‘engineered’ to look fantastic but is severely lacking in taste and quality. Welcome to the sizzler, a delight to the eye and an insult to the tongue. This place used to actually be good in the 70’s and 80’s before the floor dropped out on the quality. –G

No chicken dinosaurs, they have replaced them with these terrible wings. Also was told that the menu will be changing as to many people are eating at the buffet and the price will be going up. Sorry Sizzler, you loose this round.

First off I don’t understand all the bad reviews. This is a great place to go to for everyone. If you like buffets you can order the all you can eat and go to town on a medium sized buffet with some good food. If you want a sit down experience they have that too with a full menu. This is a good place to eat at and I always have a fine meal and a good time when I go. On a side not maybe people are complaining how busy or packed it is. Well all I can say to that is they must be doing something right, and if you don’t like it don’t come so I don’t have to wait in line. They also have a brunch buffet that is very good. To quote White Men Can’t Jump«We going Sizzler, We going Sizzler».

The family came here for the Mothers Day breakfast on Sunday. I had never been to a Sizzler before and I had never really heard any good things about it to be honest, but we have a huge family and my cousins decided to go with this place. We arrived and although there was a long line, we got seated pretty quickly. The girl working the register was rude and kept asking the same question in the 5 minutes we were up at the counter(I didn’t want pancakes the first 2 times you asked, I don’t think I’ll change my mind the 3rd time) Our waitress was the only good thing about this whole expierence. She was attentive, super sweet and obviously had good hearing unlike the counter girl. The food was disgusting. Greasy, dry and total buffet food. They were serving Sunny D as «orange juice» and the coffee was worse than hotel coffee! There was food all over the floor and on 2 separate occasions I witnessed a server drop food into other containers, dust off the food it got dropped into it and put it back in it’s correct container. Gross! I definitely will NOT be back.

Once again I find myself in Fresno/Clovis on business. I was tired of burgers or the usual travel fair, and wanted something a little better, so a salad bar seemed appropriate. As a long time valley person, I am very familiar with Sizzler, there always seems to be one in the neighborhood, and I was always a fan. Sadly, about 12 years ago, it seemed that the Sizzler restaurants that I frequented were all going downhill. The quality of the food was almost inedible, the quality of the preparation bad — overcooked or obviously just poured from a tin can. Everything was lower but the price, which seemed to go up. I joked to my wife that it seems that Sizzler was doing their best to put out the worst food they could. 10 years ago, I quit Sizzler. But 6 months ago, I tried this restaurant in Fresno simply because I was far from home and this offered something familiar. Fine dining it ain’t, so it may seem odd to give a chain store buffet a four star rating, but here it is. I have visited them twice now, and both times the food was much better than I expected based on my past experience, the service was friendly, and the place is clean.

I’m surprised at these low reviews. For $ 10.99 I got a fantastic meal. Clean, clean, clean. What more can you say about a local salad bar. Worth every penny. Not the biggest selection but very well kept. Service? I saw smiles everywhere. From greeting to table service to those just helping others. Quality? Want the best, make it at home. Here you’ll get fresh good food and plenty of it in a very clean environment. The chicken tortilla soup however is better than my own. This is not a 5 star restaurant, but rather a 5 star deal. Sizzler at its best, thank you!

I’m not quite sure how it got there, but somewhere east of Santa Clara and west of Iowa, not far from Bakersfield, exists the single WORST Sizzler’s in the history of restaurants. Everything from the layout to the service and what comes out of the kitchen is horrible. I love Sizzler, and have been visiting them in various states for 2 or 3 decades. But the ‘meal’ we had on St. Patrick’s has convinced me never to go back. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger– medium, straight off the menu, with ‘extra crispy’ french fries. Instead I got a bun with a thick, dry, overcooked, spice & flavor free patty, a partially melted cradboard thick slice of something roughly the hue of government cheese circa ’76 and a half plate of half-cooked, mushy fries. ‘_’ I brought the fries to the attention of the first employee I saw, the young lady who seated us and then waited… And waited… Finally, I flagged another employee and was told my fries were being refired. By the time they came out, my husband was finished with a steak & baked potato and since I’d had the salad bar, I had my burger wrapped up to go. Hadn’t taken a bite or even so much as picked it up. Imagine my surprise the next day when I grabbed my bacon burger for lunch, cut it in half to share with hubby and found that it was a ‘bacon’ burger in name and price only, as it didn’t actually contain any of that particular, pleasant, pork product. If you, like me, enjoy the occasional yummy salad, take my advice and make one at home. Or at least go somewhere with higher standards… Like Hometown Buffet!

Let’s face it, it’s Sizzler. There obviously isn’t going to be a five star meal here but there is usually decent food at a reasonable price. The main reason I occasionally eat here is the nostalgia from my childhood. I still love the Dinosaur nuggets, I just can’t help it. Something about those little Chicken Dinosaurs just make me want to dip them in ranch and bite their heads off. The salad bar has changed and gone a little down hill, but is still the main reason I come. Usually I order a meal that comes with the salad bar and eat the salad bar and take the meal home. It’s a decent size salad bar and I like the options available.. Timing is definitely important here, if you go at the wrong time the salad bar could well, suck. Changes I have not liked: The potatoes skins no longer have any cheese or bacon bits but are just quartered potatoes. They no longer have the Vegi Lasagna. The Malibu chicken is kinda of scary now, it’s just a frozen chicken patty topped with a folded slice of lunch meat and a slice of Swiss. Not very tasty at all. The steaks are usually decent, nothing fancy. The waitress, Melissa, was very nice and attentive. She was on top of the refills and made sure that we had everything we needed. When my boyfriend received his Lobster it was way over cooked, scrawny, and down right scary looking. He sent it back and asked for another one. The manager then came over to inquire what was wrong. When my boyfriend explained the situation the manager said he himself would take care of it. The manager, who used to be a chef according to our waitress, cooked a new piece of lobster and a new piece of piece of steak. It looked really good and my boyfriend was very happy. They made a mistake, apologized, and fixed it. It was very clear that the manager that was working that night valued his customer and wanted to make sure that they have a good experience there.
