I’ll try to be sensitive in this review. First off I like the Subway product but I used to like it much more than I do now. In Fresno the majority(maybe all, it seems so) of Subway franchises are owned by persons of Indian descent and often times I encounter a language barrier. Many visits recently find the sandwich makers very new to this country and VERY new to sandwich making. Since this food is not a huge part of the Hindu diet they can’t be blamed for not having a knack for sandwich making. It’s true that more than once I’ve had to guide the young ladies(always young ladies, never men working the counter???) in putting the sandwich together. We’ve come to realize that chicken sandwich means chicken sandwich to some of the sandwich preparers. Since Subway serves many kinds of chicken sandwiches you have to watch to make sure the girl makes you the kind you ordered. I think I understand the dilemma of the franchise owner. Labor is expensive so you get by paying as little as possible but in the end it costs you business. *12/5/11 Hunger led us to a Subway in Emerville in August, what an embarrassment. On the other hand the Subway in Tucson Foothills(4÷10÷11) was a pleasure. Anymore it is hit and miss with this chain.
