Because I love this place so much, I was very sad when I went by today and found they had closed their doors. I began coming here because I can’t stand Starbucks bitter over roasted mess, and the coffee here was always great. I will miss The Grind tremendously, I wish Rick the best of luck. Robin B.

I feel like it’s a hit or miss here. Sometimes my drink is made with perfection! Other times not so much. I guess it all depends who’s making the drink

Espresso is great, service is great although they can be a little slow when it is packed(surprise). This is my favorite coffee shop but I am really disappointed that they only have egg whites for their burritos and sandwiches now. They just don’t taste as good. They say they did it to be healthy but read the studies, in moderation, egg yolks are actually healthy. If you want to really be healthy get gluten free bagels and tortillas. Either way, please bring back the whole egg!

Since The Grind opened, I have been a loyal patron of the coffee shop. In the past year, the service and quality has significantly declined. I used to enjoy coming to The Grind based on the convenient location, fast service, and availability. My past three experiences have been less enjoyable, with congestion in the parking lot, a 20 minute wait for a Chai Latte, and even being turned away for lack of ingredients. The entire staff has turned around; the workers seem inexperienced, and the owner is seldom present anymore. I typically like to support local businesses, but unfortunately The Grind has seen better days.

The Grind has been my local go-to coffee shop for the past few years. In college, if I wasn’t at the library I would be studying here. It’s a great atmosphere to work, relax, hang out with friends, and enjoy a cup of joe – or tea! I’ve moved farther away from The Grind, but will go out of my way to have coffee here. Way better than Starbucks. The Kona Mocha is my favorite drink in addition to the Cookies and Cream blend, although I’m sure I’ve tried nearly everything on the menu at least once and have never been dissatisfied. The food is yummy here, too. Turkey or chicken wrap or quesadillas all the way. I feel at home at The Grind. Be sure to get your frequent buyer card stamped each time you go. Buy 10 drinks, get the 11th free – any size, any drink. Might sound like a silly thing to comment on, but The Grind consistently has one of the cleanest restrooms I’ve ever seen in a public place. Never seen it dirty and always smells like I’ve walked into Bath and Body Works or something. It’s the little things sometimes!

The wait here is by far too long. Coffee is better then your typical Starbucks but definitely not worth waiting 10 + minutes or longer, especially when there’s no one ahead of me. I thought it was a fluke but after coming here over 7 times and still waiting this long for coffee is literally mad! The employees all seem like they are in la la land, no sense of urgency to please customers. I understand we are laid back here in Cali but this is ridiculous!

Over it. I was gifted a large sum of credit on and decided to purchase some certificates for this place. I’ve come in two times in the past year, I live on the opposite side of town, only to feel unwanted and annoyed; the staff has made me feel like I’m pulling teeth using these gift cards. If you don’t like the hassle, don’t put yourself out there.

Two words: Kona Mocha! Yum! I usually go to Starbucks for an iced Americano but felt like letting loose today and tried the iced, non fat Kona Mocha based on previous reviews and WOW! Perfect treat!

Their drip coffees and bagels are the best start to my day but I hate their short hours. Only open until 5 or 7 depending on the day. Not sure what their hours are since they’ve always been inconsistent and even being closed on random days without any extra notice. I love that they’re more active on social media now, but please use these accounts to regularly update hours! Also, I feel uncomfortable asking the price of their products since they’ve erased them from their menu– I understand it’s due to their fluctuating prices but come on! Their drip coffee selection is the best on the north side of town, the Peru brew is my favorite! Very rich, bold, and the best kick start to my mornings. I’m hesitant to order though other than bagels, or the simpler offerings, just because it seems like the quality of the food preparation has gone down. I’m guessing it’s due to their high employee turnover. Despite some of these problems, I still love to come here and consider myself a regular. Rick, the owner, is very kind and some of the staff who’ve been there long-term really make me feel welcome. It’s definitely got a comfortable feel to it and I’m happy to come back again and again!

It was OK… nothing special but not deserving of 3 stars: Ordered the usual coffee drink. They got a bit confused and I had to explain it to them twice. Coffee is average Price is slightly more than Starbucks. Pretty dim lighting inside. When I first walked in my first thought was that they did not turn all of their lighting on. Several people that came in after me to order received theirs before me… what up with that? They offer sandwiches and other menu item but their prices do not show on their menu. what up with that?

Love love love this place! Great comfy, relaxing, atmosphere! Service is always fast and the coffee is always fresh! My boyfriend and I usually get the white elephant or the peanut butter cup(we love peanut butter) but when I’m in the mood for something hot I LOVE the kona mocha or opt for the maui blend I think it’s called. The breakfast burritos are pretty tasty as well for being a small coffee shop! Definitely a must for good coffee!

We all know this this place serves hands down the best coffee drinks in town!. .. but the best breakfast sandwiches? This egg and ham on croissant sandwich is AMAZING!!! By far one of the best breakfast sandwiches I’ve had. It’s a «must try»!!

Tried this place for the first time, and wasn’t disappointed. My husband got the kona mocha and loved I. I tried the white mocha blended and Liked it also. They have breakfast sandwiches, wraps and some pastries. Overall a nice coffee shop.

Oh my goodness I absolutely ADORE this local coffee shop! The owner is so friendly and welcoming whenever I visit. The white elephant drink is my go to here. The vibe is chill and quaint, providing a great place to study or just catch up with a friend. It’s no wonder why this coffee shop has a ton of regulars with its exceptional customer service and superb food and drink options. One of the hidden gems in Fresno that is becoming increasingly popular.

I saw all the Unilocal reviews and knew I HAD to try this place! I was not disappointed! Came on a Saturday morning, and the line was out the door… it moved fast though. I ordered a blended kona mocha and hubby had a blended java chip. We saw someone pass by with a breakfast croissant and tried to order the same but they ran out of croissants… so we had a plain bagel eggle and it was delicious! It’s a little small inside, but there is seating outside too. The weather was nice last weekend, and it would have been fun to hang outside but we took our food and drinks to go. I can’t wait to come back and try the blended snickerdoodle!

I’ve been coming here since 2008 because lucky me, I work a few doors down. Being a 17 year old who could manage to eat a dozen garlic knots(from Mother Mary’s when they were here) and a blended Snickerdoodle was heaven. Not the case so much anymore, BUT I can still drink a blended Snickerdoodle any day. Honestly, I think the only drink I’ve had is the Snickerdoodle so I can’t say much about the others, but I’m sure they’re just as great! The staff has always been nice as well.(I miss Joel!) Been thinking about trying that wrap? It is one of my favorite things to eat ever. Cream cheese is the best ;) And it fills me up no problem.

They say you don’t know how much you love someone until their gone. And it was the day that they ran out of the«Kona Mocha» that I realized that I was indeed in love. It’s a less sweet, deeper darker chocolate latte with a perfect hint of bitterness which complements the espresso very well. I think it’s the perfect drink for a coffee drinker who usually drinks their coffee/espresso’s black, but looks for the occasional sugary treat. I cannot yet comment on their brewed coffee or plain espresso as I haven’t tried them, but look for an update soon if I can get myself off the Kona Mocha. So I recently moved to Fresno and was skeptical of the great reviews this place was getting, but I was pleasantly surprised. I like the vibe, pretty laid back, somewhat interesting art on the walls, good music which can be either somewhat just poppy or slightly hipster or rasta depending on what day you go. The interior has more character than the storefront. I found this place on Unilocal while looking for a place to get my café-study on, and this place really fit the bill. I need a somewhat noisy place that has an ambiance that puts me in a unique darkly colored place with a delicious supply of caffeine. It has free wifi which is actually pretty fast(a plus) making it a great place to get a bit of work/studying done. But it’s pretty small(a minus) making me feel guilty about parking myself at a table for an hour or two. But, it’s super close to my place(plus). Hours are not great(closes early; a minus). Overall, I found my goto study/grab-coffee-with-a-friend spot unless I’m willing to drive to Clovis for my absolute favorite coffee shop in the area. The other place has better hours, as well.

This place is great– free wifi and plenty of seating. There are lots of choices for drinks, from the«usual» coffee house selections to more creative and unique menu options. Food is always fresh and employees are super friendly and make customers feel at home. I much prefer this place to other chain coffee houses. Finally, I got a drink and a toasted bagel with cream cheese for under $ 5 today, which is much more reasonable than large corporate chains. Good prices, great people, and wifi? Can’t go wrong at It’s A Grind!
