Awful. Asked for a simple cut and got mauled instead. The woman cutting my hair was using clippers even she said were too old and sharp. Not 2 seconds later she cuts my neck and says«Oops, it’s not cut. You are okay.» The cut was feeling irritating but I figured it was just a razer burn like feeling. Get home, look at the cut in the mirror and see that not only is the top uneven on BOTH sides, but my neck is fucking bleeding down the side. What the fuck? Call in and politely explain I would like a refund because of how awful the whole experience was. Not only do they«not offer refunds» but wanted me to come back so they could fix it. Why the hell would I want your business to touch my hair after fucking up the first time and cutting me in the process? Heed the warning of others and myself, avoid this place. Spend a few extra bucks and go literally ANYWHERE else.

I do not recommend this place. The woman who cut my hair did not seem to care about what she was doing. It seemed like she was rushing to get done faster. She eyeballed The spot where she cut my sideburns and made them uneven, causing them to be shorter than I wanted them to be originally.

This review is based on a first time experience: Went here because after waiting over a half hour at a certain popular chain haircut location, I was informed I would probably have to wait another hour because of low staffing and 2 «call-aheads» that just happened to show up. First impression of this place was poor. The smell of the place is stale. I think most of the staff are smokers. The overall décor is old, faded and out-dated. Service is fair to midland, which isn’t of concern to me as long as the stylist can follow instructions on how I want my hair. Woman named Norma did a great job though she missed a few strands of hair above my left ear. Not a big deal. I can fix it. 1) I had no wait 2) she did a good job on my hair and 3) the price was congruent with what I would expect a dive barber shop in Harlem to charge. Cost of a hair cut + a fat tip is what I would have paid at the other place not including the tip.

I made the gigantic mistake of popping in here to get my brows waxed. I usually go to Benefit but I was in a hurry and did not want to wait to make an appointment. I thought I was pretty specific when I told the girl that I wanted her to clean up my brows a little, add some definition to the shape and to make sure they weren’t too thin. She said okay and got to it. I left with very thin brows with no shape, and the worse part is that the left one is jagged on the arch so filling in my brows every morning is now a process that involves way more products than I care to mention. I should have listened to my gut on this one– it’s better to have scraggly brows for an extra day or two than almost none at all. :(

so the first review was actually supposed to be an add-on to what i had previously since Unilocal will only allow me so many characters. so i had tried to add an «update» on the same day however which i’ve found out you can’t do that so instead i hit the«edit» thinking it would be the same… sadly that obviously wasn’t the case and so i threw a fit and just said«forget it, i’ll deal with it later.» but basically what had happened was that i was trying to get a haircut with the usual girl i always get a cut with so i call and ask if so-and-so is working and the lady tells me she is and as she’s already trying to hang up i ask what time will she be there till, since i don’t have a vehicle right now and so it takes me some time to get there, i don’t want to miss her. i’ve even gotten in the habit of asking when she goes to lunch cause in the past i’ve gone there and had to wait 20 or 30 minutes extra for her to get back from her lunch. i didn’t this time cause the lady who picked up apparently couldn’t wait to hang up. remember, i got nothing against top cut, just this one moron who probably should just stick to cutting hair and away from the phones… or maybe she can’t cut hair either since she had nothing better to do than to stare out the window watching cars go by. i wouldn’t doubt that she didn’t even know how to cut hair well since the 3 other ladies there did have customers. anyways, so i finally get there and i’m greeted with a crack of smile until i tell her i’m waiting for someone else. she then goes comatose again staring out the window and so i take a seat and wait. and it’s not until one of the ladies, whom i’m not waiting for, finishes up with their client, walks them out, am i being wondered about. this other lady confirms who i am waiting for and if i have an appointment. i’m looking kind of shocked at this point cause i know they’ve always been first come first serve only until recently. the other lady speaks softly with the lady who answered the phone and then looks at a clipboard. she then proceeds to tell me that the girl i’m waiting for is goin on lunch next and then is followed by 2 other people infront of me, and then asks if i can wait about 2 hours. hearing all of this my hair stylist or barber or whatever asks me if i called then asks the moron up front if i called and if she told me to make an appointment. this moron mumbles around and just says«well yeah… he call…» obviously this person doesn’t give a shit about their job or procedures when a paying customer calls in. otherwise she would’ve taken down my information and informed me that they can make appointments now and to schedule me in or at least just COMMUNICATE with me!!! tell me «hey she’s booked until this time, try tomorrow… «or something! is that too much to ask for? i couldn’t stay since i had work. i work a lot and so i try to schedule as much as possible to avoid shit like not having enough time. but honestly, its hard to factor in the idiots that don’t know how to do their job and end up wasting my time as well. it’s been over a week, still haven’t gotten my haircut… thanks again to the moron up front.

I am a person that gets my hair done for $ 130 for a color and cut but for my regular cuts I have gone here for the past 3 years. My family and I were lucky enough to have found our stylist Randi at this location. She is awesome! She listens to what you want and actually does it. Definitely recommend Randi!!!

Been going to this place for awhile. If you want a quality quick cut(if you’re a guy) check it out. Not sure how women will like it as I’m obviously not one.

So I was trying to get my bangs trimmed since I hadn’t done that in awhile and decided to give this place a try. Afterall, there always seems to be people in there and since it was close enough to my house I figured why not. So I show up and had to wait 15 minutes, which I am happy to do. After a bit, my hair-cutter-person calls my name and totally butchers it. Not that is hasn’t happened before but there was no acknowledgement or anything. She didn’t even look at me. She just shouted out some random word and then proceeded towards her chair. I was to follow like a dog or something. Fine. She looked like she was having a bad day and it was going to be quick anyways. So I sit down and she asks me what I want. I tell her just a trim of the bangs. She asks me if I want some off the rest of my hair as well. And I tell her no, just the bangs. I pull down my pony tail so she could have free access to my hair. She walks away for a bit, I don’t know for what, then comes back, sips her soda, and starts spraying my hair with a water bottle all over. I immediately stop her and ask her again if she’s only doing my bangs and she starts to get smart with me, trying to say that I told her I wanted her to cut all my hair. What she doesn’t know is that I’m one of the last people she should try that shiz with. Of course, I told her that I did not say that and I only wanted my bangs done. Then she chides me «Well you shouldn’t have pulled down your hair then.» I was conflicted, unsure of whether I should have slapped her immediately or not. So I say calmly, «Does it help you if I pull it back up. Would you like me to do so?» I think she got the clue because she muttered something about it being«too late» and proceeded to cut my bangs. I’m not fussy, folks. I swear. But I do expect general customer service and politeness. And just because I have a baby face or because one is having a bad day does not make it okay to get crazy with me ever. So she cut my bangs, a little too short in my opinion, but whatever, they’ll grow back. But I, for one, will not be back to this joint again.
