Came here on a Sunday around 9:40pm. Hours shown on Unilocal says Wassabi closes at 11pm. Waiter said the store closes at 10pm. Very disappointed with the wrong hours on Unilocal. And outside sign still said open. Could turn off your signs so people know your closed. I wouldn’t mind ordering Togo. But the waiter didn’t suggest that.

I love wassabi I really do, but today was not their day… Seating was fast but we were sat next to the wall and then took about 10 – 15 minutes to get our drinks of water then about 25 minutes to get our tea. 20 minutes to get our order and the appetizer came out with our suishi. Really was frustrated because it was my parents first time going and my third. Got to step it up… #NoTIP Recommend you take the trip to fig garden and eat wassabi there.

Pt. 1: This used to be one of my favorite sushi places, but I don’t know what was up today. I came to meet with a friend, and he told me upon my arrival that he stood there for a good five minutes before a chef told him that«he could sit at any clean table.» FOUR groups came in after us and were promptly seated and had their drink(and some actual entrée) orders taken, meanwhile we were still waiting to be acknowledged. We had to ask for menus and were STILL not acknowledged until we called a chef over to take our drink and meal orders. Currently waiting. We also had to ask for napkins and silverware. Probably won’t be back anytime soon :)))

Not the sushi place that it used to be. Had lunch there today with my wife and ordered gyoza as an appetizer, but it never showed up. Our rolls came and we mentioned that our gyoza never showed up, but ended just canceling them. Rolls are so MUCH smaller than we’re used to having there, almost half the size as before. And noticed that all rolls that have crab in them now has«Imitation crab», yes, even the«Crab Roll!» Waitress couldn’t manage to smile, either. Very disappointed — used to be our favorite sushi place in Fresno. Not anymore — won’t be back!

This was one of my favorite Sushi places anywhere. However, times have changed. Given a drink list by the waiter, which was quickly taken away by the same waiter before we could look at it and then rushed to make a drink selection. What’s with the imitation crab? The menu has sticky notes replacing crab with imitation crab. Ordered Gyoza as an appetizer. Our rolls came out before the appetizer. Really? My husbands spider roll was half the size we are used to getting. Tried to order more Sake to drown out disappointment. Waiter blew past us. Not coming back. Better options now in town.

If you like cucumber this is the place for you. As long as you don’t want it in a timely manner or at a reasonable price. The miso soup was good but that wasn’t why I went in.

Great place to eat. My husband and I come here and always have great service. The food is amazing. Our favorite is the sashimi dinner and smells like my ex.

Came here for a quick bite before errands with my husband. I have no real complaints about the food, it was fine. The waitress we had was kind of grouchy and appeared bothered when making contact with us. Our quick bite took almost an hour. Service was slow and server was inattentive. And we didn’t get one smile the whole time.

Stopped by wassabi, while wife is at the doctors office, encounter a bit of change after a 1 years gone by. Notice their Price have gone up, which is fine! and I don’t mind at all. What got me the most is that the portion of rolls has gotten allot smaller. My caterpillar use to be cut in 8 thick slices in a roll. It is not 7 thinly sliced. In which I am not fulfilled after finishing my lunch. Will I come back? Yes, once Wassabi beef up those rolls again. Overall, the food is okay, Just a bit disappointed.

I had the #2 lunch special and I was pleasantly surprised by how good and how filling it was. The sashimi pieces were much bigger than expected as well and fresh.

Good sushi but the place needs a remodel. The seat on our booth was duct taped together and uncomfortable. Had great sashimi and the service was fine.

I don’t wrote reviews often but need to because 3.5 stars doesn’t do this place justice. I love sushi and switch between eating non-fried rolls and sashimi(I avoid the hard core i.e. sea urchin but eat most else). I came with my dad who loves sushi, only eats sashimi(and all types). We came on a Saturday night at 7 and were seated right away. Ambiance of the place was great, decent lighting, nice background music and very cool which was nice after being outside most the day in triple digits. As for the food it was amazing. I eat sushi somewhat regularly and this was the neat I have ever had. My dad eats sushi all the time, travels all over the world and has had sushi in Japan said this was in his top 10ALLTIME. I started with baked green mussels which were done to perfection. Then I had the sashimi bowl with salmon, tuna, white tail, albacore, talapia(at least that’s what the waitress said), and something I wasn’t sure of. First I think it was delivered with dry ice, which kept the fish at the prefect temperature throughout the meal. No earn pieces! The salmon and the albacore absolutely melted in my mouth. All the other fish were delicious and super fresh. Everything was well presented and cut and the sushi rice was excellent. The rice has the proper slightly sweet taste of saki to it and was very sticky. Overall the best sashimi I have had hands down. As for the service it was amazing. I’ve we were ready to order they quickly took our order. Our food was delivered quickly and my iced tea was always filled. Which was great because I deal about 5 glasses after playing an afternoon round of golf. Everything about the staff was top notch. Also the price was very reasonable. For two with appetizers, two sashimi dishes, and two drinks the bill with tax and generous tip was less than $ 100. Which for excellent sushi and service I felt was a bargain. This is now my go to sushi spot when I’m in town!

Love the food… like the service… they need to turn on the air conditioner more often. Love the Tunamisu and 3MM roll.

UGHUGHUGHG I love this place! I moved to Fresno about two months ago and I have already stopped at about 3 extremely mediocre sushi joints around here. I moved here from the San Francisco area so I’m a bit sushi-snobby. And then, I come here because another sushi place was closed at 3 pm(seriously, wtf? Why do you get to close at 2 pm? I hate you) and this place is open pretty much all day. Thank GOD that other sushi spot was closed cuz this place is AMAZINGGGG. It’s a bit pricey but honestly it’s worth it to me. I’ve tried out half the special sushi roll menu and haven’t come across anything I didn’t think was super delicious. My boyfriend and I are moving next year because we’re only in Fresno for a year but I’m definitely making this my sushi fix spot. Oh and this isn’t their fault but oh my god the streets around here SUCK. It is so hard to get in the parking lot, you have to do all these crazy U-turns. I seriously sometimes contemplate just jumping the curb and smashing my car through the stupid fence and make my own damn pathway. But I wont, cuz there’s no sushi in jail.

Wow has this place gone downhill! I ate my first sushi here 7 years ago and it’s been a favorite for friends and I for many years… but that has changed, I won’t be returning and here is why: — Furniture is tore up, there was duct tape holding the seating together — Music is so loud it’s like a club atmosphere which would be fun if it were after 8:00pm but at 5pm its just a headache — Overpriced and under delivered, bones in the sashimi. And $ 18 for a subpar roll? No thank you. — Waitress was disinterested at best — Service was slow, my husband received a roll that is made the exact same as mine 20 mins before me; there were only 4 other small groups in place and they were fully staffed — They finally copped to using imitation crab in 90% of their menu, and it’s obvious because they’ve got cheap looking text cutouts plastered to the menu to clarify«imit crab» where it used to say«crab» In summary, there are better sushi places in Fresno these days with tastier sushi and better prices. Wasabi must’ve overextended themselves after the fig garden expansion, because it’s not what it used to be.

This is my favorite place for sushi. I’d recommend the Orange Blossom, Super Girl, Crunch, Orgasmic, Super California and Grilled Chicken Salad. The house dressing is so good; that alone will keep me coming back.

Went in to just have some nigiri. I have never actually been amazed by the taste by raw fish. We tried the Butter Fish, and everything about it was great. I also had the Cherry Blossom, which was a well presented, delicious roll as well. I highly suggest just sitting at the bar trying out their nigiri. Only con about the place was the service, and the pricing. It wasn’t great, but it wasn’t that bad. Pricing was pretty high, but I suppose it was worth the quality of the fish. All in all, great place for sushi. Definitely coming back. If you’re ever at the sushi bar, Chef Logan is the best!

Came here at around 7pm on a Tuesday– there were a few couples eating, the music wasn’t too loud but it wasn’t too soft either(perfect imo), lights were kinda dimmed which was also nice. The waiters were patient and enthusiastic– yelled wassabi every time someone walked in, which is somewhat awesome. We ordered a booty booty to-go, K. C Special roll, calamari, edamame, cowboy roll and the caterpillar roll. We received our food in a timely manner– the caterpillar roll was our favourite, the unagi sauce is to die for! The cowboy roll was also delicious, loved the cream cheese. The K. C Special, however, was a weird one, I guess we weren’t used to our sushi being made into a tower haha. We also ordered the mango and strawberry mochi, which was delicious!!! I definitely enjoyed the mango one(I think I found my new food craving)! Overall we had a pretty good experience in terms of customer service, however, they completely forgot to make the to-go booty booty. The waiter seemed to have it down but I guess not. I’m tempted to go again for the caterpillar roll!

If your looking for an authentic Japanese sushi bar, this is not the place. The sushi here is westernized, americanized, butchered, dishonor to Japanese food, very un-sushi. I ordered the salmon and squid nigiri sushi, and my sister ordered the rolls or what i like to call futomaki. The great thing is their fish and squid was fresh, it was not smelly; my only complaint is the squid was a little too chewy. The fish however was very poorly cut and dangling over the rice way too much, which a a huge no-no for authentic nigiri. Also the rice was very hard in texture, it should NOT be mushy, but it should not be dry either. In addition the sushi rice had no taste of the sake or rice vinegar in it, which it should, at least a hint. It tasted very plain, almost like white rice. The rolls my sister tried the«super girl» sushi roll. It tasted very sweet and had no Japanese taste to it, too americanized. The server was nice and really friendly, we loved the service and the wonderful shout out welcome as we entered the restaurant, but at the end of our meal, we waited probably like 10 – 15 minutes for our bill after we finished our last bite. The ambience is not at all Japanese, its very club like, but it is neatly decorated. I appreciate the art wall near the sushi bar.
