I would give this place zero stars if I could. The guy that cut my hair… I should’ve walked out from the beginning. He was so rude, he cut off an inch more than I asked for. He had the worst attitude the whole time he actually ruined my day. Please fire him. I have anxiety about cutting my hair in the first place and he didn’t make it easier. I want my money back.

I was not expecting much going to a discount walk-in only salon. However my expectations were quite lofty compared to my actual experience. There was no customer service to be had what so ever. I felt more like I was at a pet groomer or a detail shop than a salon. It was dehumanizing. The stylist ignored my instructions not to shorten the front and made condescending remarks the entire time. I had trimmed it myself, and did a crap job which is why I was there. The guy actually said to me «Ooh, were we trying to play stylist sweete? That’s what Barbie Dolls are for.» In a very snide tone. He referred to portions of my hair as a «fluffy mess», and was all around a very uncomfortable person to have around. Additionally he seemingly made a game of getting my hair into my face and eyes. It was torturous. The only saving grace was the price, but even then it’s really not worth the savings. So if you are a masochist seeking a butchered haircut, Fantastic Sam’s is the place for you!

Wow. First time I have ever got up and left in the middle of a haircut. Store opens at 10am on Sundays. I was still outside at 5 after when a young blond girl walks past me and unlocks the door. «Good morning!» I say. She looks at me and huffed past me without a word. The lady at the check in desk was really nice, I’m hoping she cuts my hair. No, I get called back by the bitchy blonde. «Good morning!» I say again. She literally rolled her eyes at me and said«you guys must really need haircuts this morning» to which I reply«well if we waited for it to warm up here in Minnesota, we’d be never be in here very often, huh?»(Eye roll) «You should be glad it’s so busy this early, this is how you make your money, right?» «I don’t even want to be here today» she says. So I stop her right there, mid haircut, and take off the apron and leave. On the way out I say«you may want to send her home, she doesn’t even want to be here today» Never have I ever, smh…

At no point should your hairdresser interrupt you while you’re trying to explain what you want, and say in a bitchy tone«Oh my god just sit back and enjoy your haircut». I could not believe the attitude on this guy. Hair cut was what you would accept for 15 bucks, but the customer service was amazingly bad.

This place is terrible. Yes I understand that it’s cheap and you only pay like 15 dollars for a haircut. but woooow! I got my hair cut there today and the guy who cut it smelt like he just came in from smoking a cigarette and couldn’t even wash his hands before touching people’s hair and faces. He acted annoyed when I asked if he could put some leave in conditioner in my hair and then barely dried my hair. ah hello it’s winter and freezing outside buddy! Everyone working there seems miserable and would rather be anywhere but there. Maybe I’m crazy but if you’re job is doing other people’s hair, don’t you think you should have your own hair done? They all have nasty looking hair that is thrown up in a ponytail and look like they crawled out of a hole lol. When I got home, I noticed I got a total choppy hack job when I asked for a small trim because I’m growing my hair out. Not happy and won’t be returning. Don’t waste your money here!

This is my «CRAP I need a haircut and I need a haircut NOW» option, since it is close to home and generally pretty quick. Both times I’ve gone here I’ve had pretty good haircuts, although one was muuuuch shorter than I had asked for. The stylists seemed kind of cranky, though, as in «I would SO rather work at Juut!» but I tipped pretty well and they cheered right up(so maybe that’s the problem, people aren’t appreciating their skills). Hopefully they were more cheerful to their later customers. Just paying it forward.
