Must have changed hands, like a lot of the Indian places seem to do in these parts. They used to have a beer/wine license, when we went in for dinner, we were the only ones in the place at 7:30, and they said they no longer serve alcohol. We left to go to a normal evening restaurant.

The food was pretty tasty ~ rice was great and we ordered the tandoori chicken and butter chicken. Disappointing portion sizes for the price, I expect a whole lot more meat, for these prices.

Nothing is fresh. Least quality food. Last night I was craving for idli and sambar(I’m six months along) went there with my husband and 18 month old son. We had idli and sambar, it tasted lil different, thought it was the taste, dint look or smell bad though and unfortunately also fed my son. The very next morning all 3 of us were down with severe stomach pain, diarrhea and vomitings. We went into the ER and were treated for food poisoning. That was the only place we had food that day. A horrible experience. Will never go back there.

Food and service is much better and enjoyed the south Indian taste. It’s a decent place to go for lunch buffets. But I still don’t give it a high rating because Paradise biryani Pointe in Jersey City has set the bar really high.

Food is okay. The chicken from the buffet isn’t fresh. The service is okay and I tried the chicken 65 biriyani — definitely not tasty enough. Don’t waste your $ 15 for it.

Pros: a clean décor, excellent spices, flavorful foods. Good portions. Cons: some of the meat pieces(goat) are too tough to chew. The biryani itself is decent. Needed more spices(not chillies) spread evenly.

Was surprised to see the bad reviews. I’ve been here few times and had very good experience. No complaints whatsoever.

Not sure why this place is rated lower than other Indian restaurants in the city. Their food is actually good. I get take out here quite often and I love their Biriyani, Chicken 65 and Chicken Chettinad. Good ratio of spice and flavor. I would highly recommend this place.

We had catered from Paradise Biryani Point for my daughters First Holy Communion. The food was excellent!

01/30/2015: Was here for dinner and here’s what we ordered: 1. Paneer Kabab — which was alright nothing great, may not order again. 2. Rumali roti, Malai kofta and Vegetable Biryani, Rumali roti was just a naan made really thin and not anywhere close to a Rumali roti. Malai kofta and Biryani were good. Two stars are for service, our server had no idea what kind of beer they served. Service was lacking I have been going here on and off from the very first week they opened and haven’t seen any improvement in their service. After my recent experience here and their service I think this will be our takeout place and not a fine in option. I have also tried their ridiculously price lunch buffet and that is a waste of money.

$ 19.99 for holiday buffet! No way. This is a scheme to cash more from people on holiday season. Ridiculous! Basically you kept the same weekend buffet and charged $ 5 more. $ 21.41 after tax

Horrible Food!!! I had a craving for a good Naan and curry and went to Paradise Pointe. I had a very bad experience but the one star is because my husband who ordered a Goat Biryani which was ok –ok. Goat pieces were dry. It was a Saturday night and the place was quite empty… I am a vegetarian and to start with I asked the waiter if the«Tomato Soup» is how they make back in India? Which is cream of tomato which I love… I was eagerly waiting and to my surprise when it arrived the first thing I noticed was curry leaves and tadka in it and heaps of garlic pieces. I was scared to even try. I did. and it was really disappointing. it was like tomato chutney that is served with dosas served in this restaurant as soup… Yucky… Never had anything like this in my life as soup. it was clearly tomato paste served with tadka… I had few spoons and just left it… Cudnt have it any more Now all hopes were on the main course I ordered which was Malai Kofta and a tandoori and garlic Naan… I had been craving for Naan for almost a week. When it arrived, first thing I noticed was the Naan was too thin and crispy… I told the waiter that it’s like papad and he instantly got one tandoori Naan on the house which was definitely better and soft than the previous one but not as I had craved for a good decent Naan… The garlic Naan was also not that edible… I left it… It was crispy not soft and they just put garlic butter on top. A good garlic Naan is where the garlic pieces are rolled into the dough and then cooked in the clay oven… anyway it was just crispy like papad. So all final hopes on the Malai Kofta, which turned to be the biggest DISASTER!!! That is the worst I have ever had… The koftas are supposed to be made with paneer or vegetables or something tasty… It was shocking for me and I wanted to scream«are you kidding me»??? As the koftas were like«gota wadas» made with some besan and urad Dal. it was EXTREMELY dry. the gravy was below ok but edible… And they charged $ 10.99 for a very small bowl… Felt like a rip off!!! The dish wudnt have even costed them a dollar to prepare. I love food! I am a foodie… I cook wonderfully and I rave about good food… I also am flexible… I eat what I get… But eating here was SO disappointing… that I had to write about it… I had the replaced Naan that i got which is equal to 2 – 3 slices of bread and left everything else on the table as it was… kind of left empty stomach… Left a bad taste in my mouth… Definitely not going back!!!

I’m a fan for lunch. I work awfully close and have been to this location and it’s multiple managements/names over the years. I like this one for the buffet. Galub jamun was new to me and now a favorite. Their naan is usually perfectly fresh even at the buffet. I love the variety at the lunch buffet. Butter chicken is so good! Yes, the service isn’t much(that said, the nice guy at the front always offers that if I want something I don’t see on the buffet, he will have it made for me. His service is good, it’s just the others who don’t rock at it). But, the place is always busy, food is always good and price is reasonable. It’s nicer on the inside than one would expect from the exterior. I say give it a try, at least for lunch. Go before they switch management again ;)

I have only been here for the lunch buffet. I do agree that service is not that good but that is typical for most Asian restaurants. So don’t expect attention or good service. I give the buffet 5 starts for its variety and tastiness. I come here almost every week and almost always find a new dish each time. Compare to Indian Palace, this place deserves its 5 starts for food quality & buffet selection.

Idli wada was good. Dosa was alright. Food is a little spicy though. The place was not so crowded for Saturday evening. Few of my friends have been raving about this place, so hubby and I thought of trying it out, but probably we didnt order their best dishes. I have heard that they have good biryani, and perhaps we should have stick with this. The place is located right on intersection of 694 and Central and it is easy to locate. The staff was courteous, order was right, although I wish they had brought both of our orders at the same time. I might go again, with right things to order though :)

The hubby and I love this place– ordering from menu AND the buffet. We are repeat patrons and come for the food. I think its gone through a few name changes and prior to it becoming Paradise, its reviews were great. That’s how we heard about it and decided to try it out. Dunno why it’s at a 1.5÷5 star now. Nonetheless Give it a try despite what the other reviewers are saying and judge for yourself. Each dish has a distinct unique taste whereas other restaurants all seem flavored the same– either bland and uniform, or super overpowered with seasoning. Our favorite is the chicken tiki masala. The [garlic] naan is amazing!!! i could eat just that and be a happy happy girl. I also love the Apollo fish appetizer. Tip: Request the chutney and tamarind sauces. The buffet gives you a great chance to sample different dishes. Be warned, Its pricing is a bit steep for buffet. :-\ There’s usually chai to go with the buffet but when asked about it i got a shrug and blank stare which seem to speak, «oh well, you think i care?». Do not go here expecting superb wait staff and quick service. The staff is unhappy. I don’t think they are allowed to smile. Even when it doesn’t seem too busy, be ready to wait a bit. To me, the food is worth the wait. Overall: atmosphere eh(it’s a whole in the wall, but it looks better inside than what you’d expect from seeing the exterior), food awesome, staff below average. Will I go back? Yes definitely but just for the food. If they improved the service to be more friendly, then it would be easy to give it a 5⁄5. Maybe consider doing just take out? (PS: the majority of customers eating there were Indian which to me says a lot. If it weren’t authentic and tasteful they wouldn’t be eating there. Your palate is a pro at your own ethnic’s food)

I am confused at the previous bad reviews! I did not find that the negatives rang true for me. The Biryani was spicy and not.greasy. The dish with cubed beets and lentils was so tasty and fresh. I really enjoyed the fish, because it had a light and delicate flavor with just the right amount of spice and lemon. The naan comes fresh out of the Tandoor often. The traditional chicken tikka masala was tender and rich. The paneer in the paneer jalfrezi was not too firm, but soft and fresh. I will be back.

Was here for their lunch buffet. Wow, what a disappointment. The curries had runny texture the flavor was off, and the cold. The selection of rice were all dry and stuck together. The Naan was hard and dry. Wasn’t offered anything to drink… Price was quite expensive for lunch buffet, too. $ 27.80 for two lunch buffets paid cash. On top of that had an allergic reaction, so I gather it’s MSG or some chemicals in the sauces. Won’t be coming here again.

My husband and I went to this restaurant for dinner on a Friday night, around 6pm. Besides us, there were maybe 8 – 10 other people. Because this restaurant has changed about 4 times in the past 5 years, we were a bit skeptical about going here. I did see an ad for this franchise restaurant on a South Asian channel which made me wonder if this place was actually going to stay. Their supposed specialty is Hyderabadi and South Indian cuisines/tastes. We were also told by a friend that Paradise Biryani is famous in Hyderabad, India… Not sure if it is the same owner that started this franchise. We were seated and given menus, and literally 3 minutes later, the waitress was asking for our order(on an iPad). so we asked for more time. Finally, we ordered Samosas, Chicken 65, Goat Sukha, Chicken Dum Biryani and Naan. We were given appetizer plates and no one gave us dinner plates after. Samosas were good, didn’t like the cashews in them but my husband liked them. Chicken 65 was a bit salty but flavorful, tasted good with naan. The Biryani wasn’t bad and was freshly made, but not really Hyderabadi or Nawabi tasting as they describe it in their menu… And the Naan was delicious and fresh. But the Goat Sukha was goat chops in very little curry(sukha = dry), but the meat was very fatty, like having to peel the fat off the chops, and it seemed like it was reheated. Had a slight«goaty» smell to it. And very, VERY salty. Our bill was $ 50… A bit steep considering the portion sizes were a bit small compared to other South Asian restaurants. Veggie starters were anywhere from $ 4-$ 6 but the non-vegetarian starters and the entrees were all $ 9-$ 15. We may go here to try other food but overall, it was probably a 2 or 2.5 out of 5. Better tasting food than A LOT of South Asian restaurants in the Twin Cities… only if you order it. And if you order, ask for the food to have less salt. And do yourself a favor — DONOTGOTOTHEIRBUFFET. Waste of time and money. Worst buffet EVER! Also, the waiters/waitresses seem like they’re being forced to work there. So not friendly!

I almost feel bad reviewing a place before they are fully open, but felt I should probably do this anyways. The servers have ipads, but for some reason, ours decided not to use his, He forgot part of our order, and they ended up comping us that part of the meal, plus some extra, so that was nice of them. However, the food wasn’t anything to scream home about, and this location almost sort of feels cursed. I think there has been 4 restaurants in as many years in this location, so I guess we will see what the future brings.
