Excellent service. Waitresses checked with us very frequently. Tomato basil soup was delicious. Chicken in phyllo was really good as well. The vegetables as a side were way above what I’ve had at other restaurants. The ambiance was nice — low lighting, candles on tables, and quiet. Will definitely be going back.

Excellent! The owner is very hands on here. Very friendly. If you have any problems please bring them to his attention and im sure you will be appeased. We bring our kids regularly. Sunday is ½ off appetizers. Everything i have tried was good.

I went there for dinner on a tuesday night. It was a nice spot. Good setting for small groups. The menu was smaller than I expected but the Moscato wine was good. Our server unfortunately was less than attentive and I had to ask for a refill on my water more than three times. Not impressed. I will be giving this a second chance

Looks like they have remodeled since I was here last in the late 90’s. It looks pretty nice. The interior is tasteful and spacious and the big windows are nice to look out of. We were in the area and I remembered that they had a Sunday Brunch so we stopped. Brunch: –Fresh fruit(Grapes, pineapple, strawberries, honeydew) –Sausage and Bacon –Gyros –Eggs Benedict(My favorite, but not this time. The English Muffin was mush and tasted horrible) –Scrambled eggs –Cheesy hashbrowns –Sad looking mini waffles –Omelets– made to order and fixings –Roast Beef –Cold Salads(which were pretty good) –Ice cream It could have been good, but a lot of it tasted flat and the Eggs Benedict was a real let down. Some of the stuff didn’t seem that fresh for just having opened. Service was ok. We didn’t get any refills until we were ready to leave. Not sure I would race back for this brunch. It was ok.

My family has been coming here on/off for the past 6 months since we started coming to the nearby Lifetime Fitness Center. We’ve been here for dinner and the amazing Sunday buffet. Every time we’ve been here, it gets even better, but last night took the cake. First, let me tell you how kid-friendly this place is. For every adult, kids under 5 eat free and the adult doesn’t even have to order an entrée. Also, this deal is EVERYDAY. Last night, I ordered a wonderful chicken salad rather than an entrée and they still gave me the free kids meal. As I have two daughters, and the hubby was home sick, I ended up paying for one of the kids’ meals. Not a worry, though because their kids meals are usually a whopping $ 3!!! This is delicious food, too. Even the girls’ chocolate milk was fresh. Staff took the time to whip it up from chocolate syrup, rather than serving cheap store-bought chocolate milk with HFCS. The server also suggested bringing home some soup for my sick husband, and they charged me nominally for the best soup my husband has had in a long time. On top of all that, Jimmy the owner, came and greeted my two girls and I, and promised the girls(4 and 2 years) some ice cream. I almost hate to tell you this because I don’t want anyone to be disappointed if they don’t get the exact same experience, but this gesture says a lot about the level of customer service. Jimmy and his staff clearly have a mission statement in mind, which is to serve good food to people he considers ‘family’. He demonstrated that last night when he guided my usually shy little girls into the kitchen(as I watched) and helped them make their own ice cream sundae. The girls were ecstatic and Jimmy made himself two little friends for life. My oldest actually ran to hug him when we were leaving. Also, other patrons around shared their experiences with their kids/grandkids as Jimmy and other staff members are known for this kind of friendliness. This place has a following and now I see why. He went around to talk to each table, and they all ate it up. If you don’t like this kind of personable experience… maybe best to stay away. However, I should note that the atmosphere, food, music and drinks(including their own delicious special beer) are awesome and warrant a visit alone. The food is eclectic with obvious Greek(Jimmy’s home country) influence, as well as American and Italian pasta dishes. Their steaks get a nice flame to sear, along with an «Opa!» from the staff serving them. If we weren’t die-hard supporters of this place just for the usually fantastic customer service and wonderful food before, we definitely are now. I hope Jimmy and his wonderful restaurant enjoy great success and the long-term friendships I’m sure they’ve garnered over the years.

We went for Father’s Day for the Sunday Brunch. The food in the buffet was OK(everything was a tad greasy or topped with lots of cheese). Both my husband and I tried the omelet bar, which was a little disappointing. The omelet cook took your order and said he would come find you which seems nice but then he doesn’t give you a number or anything and walks around asking if this is your omelet.(we watched him wandering the dining room many times doing this — just kinda felt bad for him.) The omelet itself was too greasy(too much oil in the pan) and too dark. Also, we each ordered an OJ and were surprised to find there were no refills and it was charged separately $ 3.50 a glass. The atmosphere was nice(a good view) and the wait staff was pleasant but probably will not return.

Really good house salad and gyros. GREAT bar staff. Not a big fan of pull tabs and other things that attract bar flies, but the staff makes it nice and the view in the lower dining room is really nice, considering it is Fridley. Worth a stop!

I have had the Sunday Brunch here now and liked it. It seems like most brunches in the area are pretty standard — the same offerings — even down to the same kind of bacon and sausages. Shorewood Brunch wasn’t much different, honestly, but the addition of Gyros and their house greek salad(OMG, I cannot express how much I LOVE this salad!!!) make it a bit better. I seem to recall another«savory» option but I can’t remember. They do have prime rib as well. We also did the Easter Brunch and it was great though very, very busy and our large group had to be seated at 2 tables.(I am SO impressed with how they handle service on days like this, however.) I am looking forward to my next dinner here, but in the mean time I’ll dream about that salad!

We go here regularly and like it. The food, although a bit heavy, it is always good but the service and events is what brings us back. We sit in the bar area usually, but when we have sat in the dining room(which, if you are going for a more formal gathering is very nice) the service has been great. The atmosphere and crowd is a bit odd. Usually on the older side and kinda mafioso. Men in suits(which seems weird at this kinda place) and women dressed fancy sometimes, to guys in snowmobile suits, and everything inbetween. We like that as it is entertaining to people watch. You never know who may come in. Great food but our faves our the filet, ahi tuna, hercules bites, theva pasta, and that delicious house salad. I have never had a bad meal here. The flaming cheese is really fun, too! It also tastes good. COme on Greek night if it is your first visit. The weekend bands are good too. On Sundays they have a surf and turf special for 29.95. Filet or Prime Rib, with scallops, lobster or crab, potatop, veg, salad/soup, and bread. Heck of a deal and it is great. Keep and open mind and you will enjoy it here. We have brought a number of folks here and they are always surprised at how good the food is.

This was my third time there and it was a bad experience. The first two times was amazing service and the food was great! This time it was ok. The service was decent but when we asked for clarification on the bill the server was up in arms about how its not his fault and was saying loudly«its only $ 1 difference». He maid it seem like we were trying to scam him and not that we were charged gratuity after tax. We just wanted to know if that’s what its supposed to be. I’ve never seen a restaurant charge gratuity after tax before. Usually, its pretax. Still, it was only a question and he made a huge scene as if we were accusing him. I asked to talk to a manager and he said he was the manager on staff. I highly doubt that cuz I saw the owner still there. I’m still willing to give it another shot because their chicken pot pie is sooo good!

I went there on the recomendation of a friend and it was terrible. I ordered the Salmon stuffed with crab. I guess what thats what I got. No mention from the waitress that it was ala carte. No suggestion for side dishes. It came with a weak sauce that matched the weak flavor of the dry salmon. I also ordered a Arnold Palmer. No sweeteners on the table and the silverware had no spoon? One person at our table came later and ordered a Chicken Caesar salad. It came 35 minutes later just as we were ready to leave. It took the waitress talking to 2 managers to get it taken off the bill. Don’t go there. Don’t send your firends there. If you get a gift card, re-gift it to the guy in the office you don’t really like.

as former customers of shorewood we have to comment on the return of the shorewood bar and grill. we love it. it was our 45th wedding anniversary on saturday. we had a group of ten! the entire staff & jimmy(the owner) made sure our experience was perfect. most of us are steak lovers. i’m very particular about my steak and told the waitress how i wanted it prepared. yes. it was perfect. a few in the group had seafood and said it was wonderful. this is a very comfortable place to dine and enjoy the warm décor, thank you to the entire staff for making our evening special. my husband and me have been there several times since it reopened and will continue to come back. we love to eat out and try new places. when we find one we like we continue to go back. denny & kathy l

This place was apparently open quite a while ago, then was the Crab House and has since re-opened as the Shorewood again. I have to say that from the outside of the joint, it sort of reminds me of the restaurant from the Goonies. It is dark, and brown, and weird. The fact that it is on Moore Lake is sort of strange too. It isn’t the most beautiful Lake to be located on. Anyway, move onto the positives. Once you make it past all of the smokers standing in the entrance, the inside is fairly nice. It kind of smells like a hotel, but seems remodeled fairly well. It has been pretty packed since it opened back up. The bar area is a little, oh i dunno, mafia like for my taste, but it is fun. They usually have bands playing on the weekends, so it is fairly loud, but a lot of people dancing(of all ages). Ok, now let’s get to why I like this place. The bartenders are very attentive. The staff is good, the service is good and to my shocking amazement, the food is really good. The first time I ate a full meal, I had the shrimp alfredo. I’m not sure why I ordered this, I never order pasta, but it came with a dynamite salad and the pasta was fresh pasta and was cooked to al dente perfection. I have never had pasta cooked that perfectly before EVER! The shrimp were also perfectly cooked and the sauce was so good. I ate the entire plate and I can usually never finish a full pasta serving at a restaurant. It was so good, I tried to go home and duplicated it the following week. Of course it was not as good. Anyway, their pizza is also fantastic. They use wonderful ingredients and it has a great crust. I haven’t had anything there yet that was not good. I have no idea what this place was like before, but we like to go and hang out. It is close to where we live, so it is a nice stop. Kind of an interesting crowd(and by interesting, I mean a lot older…) but it is still fun and the food is worth it.
