Avant-Garde Optometry

I usually dread choosing glasses because of the lack of selection, lack of staff, or hovering and pressure from staff. Avant-​Garde made the experience absolutely wonderful. I chose them because I was looking for designer eyewear and a place that would accept my insurance. Other places selling designer eyewear in the Dallas area do not accept insurance, so the individual must file. I don’t want to deal with more paperwork.
The staff were very helpful, patient, and treated me as their most important customer. They helped me try on many frames that fit my description and face, then set aside the potential choices. I must have had twenty «maybe» frames. They then sat down with me to try them all on again to narrow the list. The selection was fantastic. It was a little hard to make the final selection because I liked several frames from various designers. I made a choice that I am very happy with.
I would highly recommend Avant-​Garde optometry to anyone seeking more choices than the major chains offer.

What a great optometry clinic! The clinic itself just opened in the last year, so everything is the most up-​to-​date technologically speaking. If you’re like me, you hate getting your eyes dilated since it pretty much ruins the rest of your day. Here, Dr. Yee has a machine that takes pictures of the back of your eye, eliminating the need for dilation. Score!
In the examination room, you can tell that Dr. Yee knows what she’s talking about. She’s extremely personable and full of knowledge. Any question that I had, she answered it to my satisfaction without throwing in too much jargon, and did it with a smile on her face. Like everything else in the clinic, the chair had a lot of new gadgets I have never seen or heard of in an optometry practice. This means that you’re able to get through your clinic much faster, as well as in more comfort: win-​win.
Once you get your prescription, Dr. Yee has a large variety of designer frames to choose from. If you’re looking to have more style in your eyewear, then this is definitely your kind of place. Best of all, she accepts most major vision insurance plans. If you wear glasses or contacts, do yourself a favor and go see Dr. Yee at Avant-​Garde Optometry.
